Worried for August 2010....

I'm in the UK and I've booked for 14 nights in 2010, with free dining starting Aug 15th(unsure if this will be your starting date). Just reading the boards, I'm worried sick about getting our ADRs.
With a 14 day window am I likely to get my choices? I want the usual stuff, chef mickeys, crystal palace, ohanas etc. Is the situation likely to improve over the next 12 months?

first of all, there is no guarantee that free dining will be offered in the USA... secondly, if you know when your 90 day mark is, and you call on that day (7am orlando time), you should have little to no problem making ADRs, even for the more popular restaurants... last but not least, by this time next year it is highly likely that the online ADR system will be up and running and you can make them yourself, saving the cost of an overseas phone call!

i'm not sure why you are so nervous... i and many others have reported no problems w/ADRs for free dining... as long as they are done in a timely fashion

Thanks for the quick reply.
I've never done the DDP before and have read lots of horror stories about free dining time. Posters say that the numbers of guests eating increases tenfold.
The last few times we've gone, it was 180 days for ADRs, and we've never had any problems, but there seems to be lots of posters saying they can't get their choices. I will book on the 90 day mark, so hopefully it will be Ok.

Ruthie, I had no problem getting what we wanted this year, including Le Cellier, California Grill and Mama Melrose Fantasmic package. We go 12th August. Don't forget that as you are onsite you can book at 90 + 10 days, and then ring day by day for the last 4 days. It's best to go for the hard to get ones on days 8-10 when you first book. I booked hoping that US dining would start after we left (but it was announced far earlier dates this year), but we did get the advantage that we arrive 4 days before US free dining starts so I did get a bit of a head start. It's likely you will as well.
