We will be on the dining plan. My DS has autism and will not eat the pizza here because of the way the cheese bubbles. :) so we had planned on me, DH and DD eating here and DS getting his chicken and fries QS but I am worried with all the no sharing if he does not eat anything they won't try to charge a TS credit for him right it is only if 2 people actualy split a pizza? :confused3 worried that maybe we should keep our Teppan ADR instead. When we went in Nov we all used a credit that is how we found out that he won't eat the pizza.

VN does not allow sharing when using the DDP - meaning that if three of you (you, DH, and DD) are planning on eating at VN, then you will need to use three credits. My instinctive answer is that as long as your son does not eat the pizza, then you'll be fine with him not being charged. I would be very clear to the server that your DS is only going to eat his chicken and fries and is not planning on eating anything from VN.

VN will not let 2 people use 1 credit to split a pizza. Each person will have to use a credit and usually they will only allow the individual sized pizza to be ordered with a credit. A few posters have said they were allowed to pool credits to order a larger pizza, but this is not SOP. If you are paying OOP you can share any pizza or entree. The pizzas are fairly large so if you want to order a larger pizza to share this is a good place to pay OOP.

Use a dining credit on each of you, and offer to pay OOP and order something else for your son.

I'd make life easy and pay OOP for one large pizza for the three of you to share, and if you ds decides at that point he actually does like the pizza (btdt), you are free to give him a slice.

Sounds like a HUGE hassle to me. I would either pay OOP or skip it all together. I have heard they are very strict there.

PPs are correct. Via stopped letting you share a few years back and now if you're using the dining plan, you'll all have to order individual pizzas. I'd imagine they would charge your son a TS credit as well. I agree with paying OOP here if you want to go there - it would be relatively inexpensive, compared to some other TS meals.

To put it simply, the server is not going to stand over the table to make sure your son doesn't eat any of the food ordered by others at the table. Via Napoli is VERY strict with the dining plan and has been for some time. If your son being charged a TS credit is a problem, then I would rethink your plans.

I would hate for somebody to miss out on a meal they want because they are worried about how the restaurant would administer their charges.

OP, in your shoes, I would probably first try explaining the situation to the server and seeing if they will allow for all except your DS to be charged a TS credit and allows him to just eat the chicken & fried he brings in. If they don't, then I would just be prepared to go OOP instead. The only other thing would be to see if there is anything else on the menu your DS may like and use his credit for that rather than the chicken and fries.

Yes, they can try to explain, but the OP should be prepared and decide ahead of time what she intends to do if they say that they must spend a credit for their son if he is to be sitting at the table. I would not bother explaining to the server, I'd ask for a manager right away.

They had issues with parties on DDP feeding multiple guests with far fewer credits, so they are quite strict on what guests can order and how on DDP.

When we went last November our plan was to order three individual pizzas. It was suggested by the server to use two ts credits for one large pizza since my mom and I wanted toppings and my son wanted a pizza with extra sauce. I'm not sure if there still allowing this though. I know they won't allow three ts credits for the extra large pizza.

Not sure that even if they did allow 2 credits for a large pizza, that would be of assistance to the OP because they'd still have to spend a credit to order their son something.

They might be better off bringing in the chicken and explaining that he only eats chicken strips if there is really nothing on VN's menu that he will eat.

They will want to make sure that the son will not be making a meal off of their orders, which is why they have gone this no-sharing route. They can't police the DDP guests and make sure they aren't sharing with anybody who didn't order anything, so the next best thing is to make everyone use a credit and order something.

I think it's mostly because they used to accept 2 credits for a large pizza and a family of 4 or 5 would just come in and order that and the whole party would eat it, so the restaurant would be down on its DDP reimbursements from Disney. The really strict DDP restaurants are always the ones that are not operated by Disney.

We are going to just skip Via because me, dh and dd would of all ordered pasta and I wouldn't be happy if they charged DS a TS credit and he didn't eat anything. Thanks for everyone's help

Like I suggested earlier, you can use a dining credit on each of you and go OOP for your son.
