Today we had a very relaxing morning at the condo. I woke up around 8:15 and headed out to the screened porch with my breakfast and my book. I knew Chris would want to sleep in today since we werent going to a park. It was so peaceful out on the porch! There was lots of trees and plants around and I felt like I was looking into the rainforest! I came inside after a while but I ended up reading for about 3 hours. I read The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, which was FANTASTIC but sad! I dont want to cry in Disney (except for happy tears!)
Eventually we got showered and ready and headed out to one of my favorite places- Downtown Disney!! Our first stop was the LEGO store to check out the new LEGO sculptures outside.
They were adorable! The Snow White and the Seven Dwarves one was precious and the Buzz and Woody one was so cute and amazingly tall! I loved them! After our photo-op, we made our way to a lunch stop that I had heard lots of good things about here on the DIS: EARL OF SANDWICH!!!
I got a Hawaiin BBQ sandwich and Chris got an Italian sandwich. For sides, we shared chips & potato salad.
I LOVED the eating area inside, even though it was crowded it was really cute. Once we took a bite of the food we were in heaven! The sandwiches were seriously SO delicious! Chris was good but we both preferred mine. YUM! The bread was especially tasty. This was one of our very favorite meals of the trip, and we cannot wait to go back there! If you havent been yet, you must go!
After being fortified by that delicious lunch, we started SHOPPING!! Chris (like most guys) is not a fan of shopping, but he hung in there like a champ! I was so happy! First, we visited Mr. Potato Head at Once Upon a Toy.
This is such a fun store! Chris had fun looking at all the cool Star Wars stuff.
Next stop was Disney's Days of Christmas.
That store is SO amazing! It combines my 2 favorite things in the entire world: Christmas & Disney. What could be better?? NOTHING! I browsed around in there forever. They had so many amazing ornaments and decorations.
I loved this Haunted Mansion for Halloween and Cinderellas Castle for Christmas! So pretty:
I wanted to take one of everything, but I had no idea how I would get them home without breaking them. Somehow I decided on one (very cute) ornament.
We went to check out and the CM was adorable and so friendly! She had just started her College Program that week. I think she got an awesome placement- I would be living the dream working at the Disney Christmas store! We really enjoyed talking to her, and I have to say in the past I probably would have been too shy to ask her questions about the CP, but reading about all the great experiences you guys have had chatting with CMs inspired me to be a bit more outgoing. I am so glad I asked because it was really enjoyable and memorable, and I loved her enthusiasm! So, dont be afraid to chat it up with the CMs, they can be so much fun and really add that extra something to your trip.
