Forums on another site are suggesting that WOC might be cloned at WDW, and the best location is DTD. That would put the show across the lagoon from SSR.

Wow, that would be wonderful! I heard rumors that they were going to do something new with an evening show at DTD. World of Color makes a lot of sense to bring to WDW, but not necessarily to a free-admission area like DTD. If it does happen, I wonder if Congress Park rooms will have a TV channel to get the music, like BLT rooms get the Wishes soundtrack.

WOC is the best show I have ever seen. I can't imagine they would do this outside of a park (or at least without a ticket for a park for the day). I would love if this came to WDW though

Rumors I heard were that a WOC type show is being considered for EPCOT to replace Illuminations. I do think some kind of WOC show is being considered for WDW, it's just where to put it.

Given an option ... DTD. This would raise the WOW of SSR to sell out. Saying that I don't think it is likely. Right now, there would not be enough room for all the people to visit DTD as laid out. They would need a major change to hold more people, and make more $$.

I am sure they will do it at Epcot... Illuminations is very old, and they make money on park admis. .. but DTD would still be my vote.

I doubt it would be in a non ticketed location.

If I had to lay bets, I would say it would go in the lake between Everest and the Nemo show at DAK. Enough room there, and they really need a night time show to keep people in the park later.

Would love to see it at WDW......it is an incredible show.
Epcot would be a great location

I saw it last month at DCA and it was awesome. I don't think they have enough room in DTD for the crowds that would want to see it. Parking would be an issue. SSR would be on the "back side" of the show. I don't think Disney would want to put the show in an area that does not have admission, they would want to draw people into a park.

I'm gonna be a party pooper here for a few reasons. I don't want to see WOC in DD for at least two. DD is crowded enough as it is and will probably get more so as they bring the new restaurants and shops online. And the crowds on the SSR walkways from all over WDW would probably be out of control. It would be impossible to limit the crowds in DD as they do at California Adventure.

WOC is great and I really enjoyed it but I still enjoy Illuminations after all these years. I would like to see some changes to that. WOC is loud so I doubt they would add it to AK but that would be a good place for it. I hope there are other options as it would be a good addition to WDW.

I suppose they could require a park admission to see it even in DTD... if they issued FPs for it from the parks (they could even do it from all four parks simultaineously.

But I don't think they'll do that either.

I think if it belongs anywhere in WDW, it belongs in DHS. But that has two problems: 1. they already have Fantasmic!, and I don't see them getting rid of it any time soon. 2. unless they did get rid of Fantasmic!, they don't have a suitable place for it. Although there is a big lake there next to the F! amphitheater - I think that's just too close

Oh, cool idea! :thumbsup2

My guess is it would replace Fantasmic! at HS. It's cheaper to run than F! since there are no live performers. Then, the idiot bean counters in management might offer more showings than they do at F! currently.

If they did put it at DD (which I highly doubt) the view from SSR wouldn't be so good. This is a show that you have to see from the front. I've seen it from the backside at DCA and you miss alot.

I think this is a more likely scenario. JMHO :confused3

F! doesn't run every night does it? What if they did it on just non F! days....

I don't think they could hold both at the same place. The water jet platforms for WoC are enormous. And Fantasmic has the mountain.

Epcot would be the best place. The current Illuminations has been running for almost 12 years (fall 1999 - it was redesigned for the millenium).

And the electrical for WOC is still another layer that would have to done even before they put in the water jets. Means draining some "lagoon" to do it or building a new area. If it was in the EPCOT lagoon, the show would have to redesigned to be 360 degrees, or else you end up with the same problem as DCA, only limited ultimate viewing areas. The draw of Illuminations is that it can be seen from around the lagoon. No I'm thinking new venue, yep, the imagineers at WDW will want to outdo the DLR imagineers. Tweak it here, make it better there...new venue...but where?

I certainly hope not. I doubt they would get rid of Fantasmic. I would definately love to see WOC somewhere at WDW.

I still say its going to go to DAK if it goes anywhere.

All three of the other parks have nighttime shows.

The lake between Everest and Nemo is just the right size, and there is plenty of room for viewing on that path between Nemo and Dinoland!

A lot of the discussion leans toward DTD with hints from posters that claim to know these things, and mention traffic patterns, parking, fastpasses, and restaurant packages. Mention is made of Westside, and ideas thrown around WDI for paid parking areas, and free parking.
SSR owners are saying that SSR will probably have a new booking catagory for WOC view rooms.

I had a view of WoC from my room at the Grand Californian but didn't pay extra points for it. The view wasn't that great, really as you need to be in a central area. Even the view from the WoC picnic/fastpass area was blurry. The best location of course came with the purchase of a preferred dining package. If they do tie it in with a restaurant package then I can see lots of people forking over the money for the better view and justifying the extra cost by the value of the meal.---Kathy
