World Of Color viewing on a weekday

I've been going to Disneyland all my life, been a passholder for years but have never been to the park during the week....ever. This Wednesday the kids are out of school at noon, so DH and I have decided to bite the bullet, take time off of work and go to the park. Can anyone tell me what the viewing experience is on a Wednesday night for World Of Color? Is it super crowded or should we be able to get good viewing spots?

We won't be there early enough to get fast passes and I don't want to spend all the money for a dining experience if we aren't even there for a full day. We have only tried to see World of Color once, and it was terrible, the kids could not see a thing and were unahappy the whole time. If it's going to be the same kind of battle then I rather leave the park early and get the kids home for bedtime.

Thanks in advance! :thanks:

My guess is you will have more of a challenge than before with no FP or preferred viewing. Disneyland closes that night at 7:30, and DCA at 8:00, with WoC at 8:30. It will be more crowded with people from both parks.

WOC FPs from the machines have been lasting longer than they did before. You may have a better chance than you think at getting FPs when you arrive. In my experience the bigger factor in getting a good viewing spot has not been crowd size, but lining up early. The more time you invest in being at the viewing area early and staking out your spots, the better your view will be. Maybe you and your husband can take turns waiting in line and staking spots while the other one takes the kids on rides?

huhh... I've been an AP and I have never been on a weekend. Ever. sounds terrible...

I'm a Premier AP. I try to avoid weekends as much as possible. Last time I went on a weekend day was for CP last December. Wednesday is my favorite day of the week to go.

... ok so full disclosure, incredibly against my better judgement, I am planning on being at the parks on Dec 26th, which is not only the day after Christmas, but a Saturday, and a day between Christmas and new years. o_O Probably the worst crowds of the year. I somewhat dread it, but it is the time my siblings and their kids want to go. :scared:

Thanks so much for the advice, we will give it a shot and check to see if there are still any FP's if not we will just line up early and try our luck. I really appreciate the info.

I am so jealous of those of you that get to go on weekends. It's incredibly hard for DH to get time off during the week because he only accrues a certain amount and we have to save it for actual vacations. Plus its getting harder and harder to pull the kids out of school these days (those darn teachers and their wanting to actually teach them stuff!). I always go on a weekend, we have just learned to deal with the crowds and I think we are all used to it. We actually had to downgrade our passes this year for Premier to Deluxe and can only go on Sundays. I guess it's actually supposed to be less crowded than Saturdays but its a pain to come home late and tired and have early wake-ups the next day for school/work. But again we all put up with if for the Disney experience :smickey:.

I think I have been to the park the day after Christmas and it was very crowded but again we are used to it. Now, I did make the mistake of going to the park one year on Fourth of July. NEVER AGAIN, that had to be the worst experience I have ever had!!! You literally could not move the crowds were so bad.

Hey, I'm just jealous that you are an AP holder- enjoy your weekday in the parks!
