World of Color Superthread

Here's a picture of the fence from the upper viewing area with my DGD and DD in the foreground.

That is correct. Top/upper viewing area is an actual FP area. Its probably the best view of WoC too...

But what about behind that upper fence? Will there be viewing from behind that fence? From the tree to the fence was the sitting/standing area for the parade. Now for WOC, is that area going to be a viewing possibility without a FP?

I think that will be a FP viewing area as well as the park below it.

I would imagine the CMs would be up there telling everyone to "move along" if they let people in there at all. If they're going to close down Paradise Pier, it may be that only the people with FPs will be allowed in that area, and they might rope it off.

Just finishing up a conference and heading to DL tomorrow night - any recent previews? Did I read somewhere that there was a CM preview sometime in the next few nights? Not that I could get in, but maybe I could watch from GCV one night.

You might have read it in the OP - CM Preview June 6-7. :)

Oh Thanks!! I'll be checked in and hoping for a theme park view room tomorrow so I can at least try to see some of it.:thumbsup2 Maybe I'll luck out and they'll have a run through with guests on the 8th. Fingers crossed!

OK - went back and read the first page - that was where I saw it (of course - duh!) - now I'm really excited and hopeful for the 8th - surely, they've GOT to have some kind of run through before opening night - surely they'll do it while I'M THERE !! If they do, I'll report in on Weds morning before I check out and tell you all how it went.

So, Albort, any idea where the "dining package" WoC standing area is?

It seems like its randomized with the other FP. but your just guarantee a spot. Thats it felt like when the presenters say...

They decided to turn it into a FP area now. There will be a pathway behind though. I do believe the boardwalk is not a fastpassed area in paradise park. There is also the backside of the show opened to guest to check out. its supposively a good show from behind too.

Ya, until you actually sits there. :goodvibes From what I have heard this is known to the DCA Cast Members as the "soak zone" as some of the sprays will make their way over to the viewing area and the area near the water will be...well...soaked. :scared1:

--Just found our ponchos from last year. :thumbsup2

CM previews were tonight at 10 and 11:15. There was a small group of hotel guests up on the GCV 6th floor deck and they came up 1/2 way through the 10 PM show and made everyone leave. What was that about?! Not even a great view from up there - we could not see any of the front projections from that angle which is disappointing for future guests. Don't know if they made us leave because it was a preview, or if they will not allow guests up there at all for WOC. What I did see and hear of the show and fountains was awesome - can't wait to see it from in front - maybe I'll be back in a couple of years.

Oh, that's not very magical at all! :( I know they allowed a lot of online media types to see the show a few days ago, but they're not allowed to say anything until the 10th. Maybe they didn't allow you to stay because they couldn't control what you said/recorded? :confused3

I don't think it was fair at all, though. If they didn't want you up there, they should have denied you access before the show started. Poor planning on Disney's part, IMO. :(

It was like being half way to work and wondering if you left the coffee maker on....Hey bill...Yea....Is that observation deck thingy open?

....

im fairly sure that could be the reason. They really really did not want people to record it before the opening date. Honestly, i wouldnt see it anywhere else but in front of it.

WoC is truely AMAZING.

I seriously have nothing else to say to it. It really reminded me the passion i had working at disneyland. Its a show you cannot miss. I wouldnt mind waiting 2 hours to see that show again. Im not even joking.

there are pros and con, but right now i need to sleep...

Hopefully I'm reading this wrong but the stuff they've been calling "preferred" viewing area with the dining package is going to be randomized and just thrown in with the other FP areas?

If thats the case I'm definitely canceling my WCT reservation and picking up one of the picnic baskets.

According to the Disney blog, preferred Viewing will be located at the center of Paradise Park. Preferred seating is different than reserved seating and can only be obtained by purchasing a dinner package at WCT or AG and ordering from the set menu according to what I am reading on the official Disney blog.

You can see the response in Post 18 of the comments:

ETA: In comment 91, Heather makes the distinction between preferred and reserved seating.
