World of Color Superthread

not feeling very positive at all about our chances of seeing. I'll be interested to hear what section the picnic basket people get versus the fine dining option. If all I get to see is 1/2 fountain and the backs of people's heads, then I may cancel my Ariel reservation and opt for the picnic.

About how many rows of people fit on each terrace? Were there many rows behind you? It soulds like the FP tickets are pretty specific as to which terrace you are to report to. I also read Heather mention on the Disney Blog that while the entire park was wheelchair friendly, CMs would make sure wheelchairs had an unobstructed view. It would be nice if kids were also allowed the same access although I am sure that is wishful thinking on my part. It would be so hard to moderate that.

Also, was the CM viewing a full house meaning were there about 4,000 people there?

wheelchair guest were allowed in first to wherever they want to sit is what i was told. There was a good 20 rows behind me.

yes, the FP tickets are very specific on where you report to and where you form the line. Where you sit is a whole different story because i received a blue ticket. which was the far left side. was kinda unhappy because i showed up right when they started the ticket distribution. but i was able to stand by where the water fountains were( the big circle that shoots water during the day).

Would you please explain this more? I'm confused by two things. If you were on the far left side, how did you stand by the fountain that are in the middle.

Also if there were 20 rows behind you I can see that if you were in the fountain spot. But along the levels how many rows of people were there?

I believe they will randomize the color area on a daily basis. if you get red, you would have no idea where you will sit until they put you there. Dont ask, i was confused myself when we were lead into the good area.

i really cant tell about the rows. I think the way they did it with the cm isnt gonna be the same as the way they will do it with guest. For on, we were just shuffled in. No sections no nothing. just go fill all available spots. Kinda sucks having to go to the bathroom...

but on average, i sat at around the 5th row. with ppl sitting on the stairs...

So how could the people sit on the stairs see? Did they move when the show started? Usually because of safety you can not stand on stairways.

erm, they were on the to step and there was a rope seperating the sections(top and stair+section below. Some can still see just sitting there. they snuck through i guess.

we won't really know how it's all going to go down till opening night when we either get out fine dining or picnic meals! i got the impression that the picnic meals you pick up and take to your location, and then take the ticket they give you for the show and go sit in the designated area assigned. and the same with the fine dining option, i also got the impression that where ever you are eating is not the area that you are watching, when i read the info i felt like it was a "eat here and the move there for the show" situation. but i could be wrong

I was told you pick up your picnic meals and show tickets. You DO NOT eat your meal in the viewing area. You take your meal to any open table and eat. Then line up when the lines form to go in the viewing area. Of course, no one for sure knows what is happening from the line up to get into the viewing area until June 11. And I am very sure it will be tweaked a few times as it should be. Those people who area seeing the show the first week truly are the guinea pigs. I would hope that Disney would tweak procedures as unforeseen issues come up and the "guinea pigs" need to speak up if they have concerns. There will be complaints and it's the complaints that can make the experience smoother, less chaotic and more enjoyable for the guests in the future that are truly appreciated.

You know what would be nice? A "seating" (ok, standing) chart like when you get tickets for a play. See the different colors and spots. I haven't been there in a year so I haven't seen the new Paradise Park and I can't picture it.

I have a feeling some Disney fan will contruct one for us, after we get enough information on how it's all working.

My DH and I were invited at the last minute to one of the CM previews tonight. It was INCREDIBLE! We stood on the bridge and had a great overall view. There is definitely a heavy water mist zone down front. I don't know that there is a really bad standing place because the show takes place on the entire lagoon width wise and goes up high. Well, unless you are really short behind the guy who has his kid on his shoulders.

Let me just say, if you try to video or take a picture, you will miss something, there's just that much going on. My DH who is not easily impressed with any kind of show even said that he had a favorite section that he would like to see again from a different viewing spot.

It's late and I'm thinking that if I don't have to move my youngest home from college this weekend, I will try to watch it from Paradise Pier.

so jealous right now! We'll be there in 9 days...hope we get a good spot w/either the picnic boxes or our reserved dinners!

I think that's a good idea..but what I'm getting is that the color assigned to which area change randomly, is that right? On Mice Age they were saying that blue was really where red was originally at and that what area would be what color will change. So, one night blue will be best viewing, one night not, etc. Is this right?

Well, that would be crazy. I can see mixing up which colors come first out of the fastpass machine, but why mix up the section. Still, if someone knew where the different sections were they could define them even if they didn't know the colors.

That is what I am hearing. And it would make sense. Because otherwise if people think "blue is best" they will try to time the FP distribution to get blue. Now if you get blue you do not know if that is good or bad until you come out that night and find out where blue actually is located. :)

This is my understanding too based on what I have read. I think they are trying their best to create a level playing field. Originally Al Lutz did create a color coded chart and at that time the center upper section was blue, correct and I think that is what he deemed the "best" spot. Accoding to the Disney Blog, the center section is the premium seating assigned to dining packages. Regardless of the color sections changing randomly, it won't matter so much if the best seats have to be purchased with dining packages and won't come out of the FP machines.
