World of Color Superthread

With only a couple weeks before the opening of “World of Color” and with the excitement building, I wanted to make sure you got a sneak peek at the art our teams have put together over the past few months, all leading to the inspiration and development of our “World of Color”-themed merchandise. Several of our favorite Disney characters will appear in a spectrum of items, including tees, fleece and hats.
Some of you may notice that this art reflects our Disney’s California Adventure park name. These will be some of the last items with that look. Be on the lookout for pieces with the new logo that was recently unveiled.

We even have something special in store for our Annual Passholders. As I mentioned in my post the other day, our new Annual Passholder Commemorative Collection will actually debut in conjunction with the opening of this new nighttime spectacular and will feature special themed items including tees, fleece and coins.
So this June, when you visit Disney California Adventure park to see the new show, take a second and pop into some of our nearby merchandise locations and see what’s in store for you. I know that some of you might not be able to make it down to the Resort so soon, so if that’s the case, and you are interested in seeing or buying some of this new merchandise then be sure to check it out on www.DisneyParks.com/store in the coming weeks.

No drinks for this guinea pig; sugar is my drug of choice. :) The light-up cotton candy sounds like fun, but I'm assuming the "wand" is just disposable, in which case it seems so wasteful to me!

The popcorn sounds interesting; if I'm hungry I might pick some up. (Although with my two "Prix Fixe"-style meals on Friday and Saturday, I'm not so sure I'll be hungry....if they have it available during the day on Sunday it might be a fun thing to bring back to the office, though.)

It might have been my trip report, and what really grossed me out was curry flavored popcorn. Just walking past those popcorn stands was yuck.

Caramel? Fine. Peanut butter? Fine. Just not curry!

It's no different than Kernels ( do you guys have Kernels down there?)

We stayed at Paradise Pier.
There is two nights of video on my Youtube Channel.

Notice in the text in the above link, it say seat for the show. I'm just going to speculate if you pick up the meal just before the show you will need to sit down to eat it. You can't hold the box, a fork, and kid, camera ecetera... all at once.

But we don't know if the word seat was used wrongly or when you get your food, if it is an hour before or 20 minutes prior.

I noticed in the video he said "spot" for the show.

Unless they do like F! where the first section in front is seating only, where you sit on the pavement, there really isn't "seating". I think it would be great if they did that. Everyone in this section sits on the ground. I have an easier time seeing than when everyone is standing. But I think fewer people fit seated.

Again only speculation but if people are in fact sitting that less people would fit. This could be a reason why an area planned for 9k goes down to 4k. Realisticly the chairs themselves have to be stored and moved. 100 chairs not a big deal, but 500 chairs takes some time and labor.

I think Brenda1966 was referring to people sitting on the pavement, no chairs. :goodvibes

Ya, until you actually sits there. :goodvibes From what I have heard this is known to the DCA Cast Members as the "soak zone" as some of the sprays will make their way over to the viewing area and the area near the water will be...well...soaked. :scared1:

Heather @ Disney updated the blog today with more update info re: WOC. I was reading through the many comments and responses by her and she did mention that the Prix Fixe preferred viewing area was going to be in the center of Paradise Park. :thumbsup2

Oh! Well, if it's record setting heat in July again, we may want the soak zone. Hmmm.... maybe they will reserve the soak zone for all the picnic eaters. Better finish your meal before the show or it will be all soggy!

I really cannot see them hauling out chairs every night. Just not going to happen. That is super labor intensive. YEs, I was speaking if sitting on the ground.

its also a extreme heat zone too.

It has been mentioned that there will be viewing from around the lagoon. When we watched the last showing of the Electric Light parade, we watched from the steps up from the third level of the WOC viewing area. I'm wondering if they will rope off that fence area for viewing.

Here's a picture of the fence from the upper viewing area with my DGD and DD in the foreground.

Picture of the middle staircase and open areas from the upper level. They were testing the grids on the water that night.
