World of color dessert party?!

When you booked this for 9/12, did it state that it would be a different show or not ?
Just wondering what the WOC show will be after the Diamond Celebration show.

The Disney site states :
Don’t miss your chance to experience the Diamond Celebration spectacular, featuring soaring fountains, fire and laser effects, stirring music and towering screens that come to life with new and classic Disney animation—ends on September 5, 2016!

It doesn't say. It just says WOC. However, in the blog today it says that starting the 6th, it's going back to the old show. So, it's the original one. Not that I would know, I've never seen either! :)

Do I have to pay for a baby? DS who will only be 8 months will be with us. Do I have to call to book it? Online it says party size and for restaurantes I know we would be 4 but with this being paid upfront there is no way to say one is a baby.

Not 100% sure with WOC, but when we did F! dessert seating we were not charged for a 2 year old (and they did not get a plate) but it was noted in the reservation.

You do not have to pay for your baby. You'll need to call to reserve the party for your family.

I love your pics! And I would have carried those cool cups with me on a plane,I couldn't possibly leave them behind! This makes me want to splurge and do this.... can you get those cups elsewhere,or only if you book the dessert party?

Last week those cups were being sold in lots of places in CA. We were getting food from Cocina Cucamonga on the Wharf before the day we did the WOC dessert package and DD was begging for one, so I know unless something changes, you can find them there. They are $28 though. The night we were at WOC, they were only giving them to kids, but we saw adults at a nearby table buying them (I heard before our trip they would not sell them at WOC, but maybe they have a big supply they need to get rid of before September 5 when the 60th ends?) Just FYI- they can not be submerged in water to be cleaned, there is a sticker on them telling you to hand wash them by wiping and cleaning the interior, but not to submerge in water. I can't remember if DD put hers in a shopping bag she carried on the plane with a couple of souvenirs or if DH put it in his carry on duffle, but we weren't even careful with packing it and it was fine when we got it home.

The cups do have washable inserts. Just the outside with the battery pack cannot be submerged. It was fun carrying these back on the Toy Story bus with two very sleepy kids :rolleyes1. Even more fun fitting them in our luggage the next day!:sad2:

It was just announced yesterday that on September 6th WOC will go back to it's regular version!

So my 13 year old will not be given a cup?? That's not cool

We had read prior to our trip that they were sticking to the 12 and under thing with the cups and we told DD ahead of time not to even ask or be disappointed. However when we were seated the waiter automatically brought DD, who is 13 and looks older than that, a cup without any prompting from us. We were pleasantly surprised and of course she loved it. Hopefully you will have the same experience......

Our night, they weren't asking kids their age and you don't input when you book since everyone pays the same price. I would guess that if your child remotely looks like they could still be 12, they will probably bring a cup without you even saying anything about it.

Hi everyone, I just returned from a 2-week trip in California (4 days visiting DL / DCA) and I have to say that the WoC dessert party was one of the highlights!

We arrived at 7:45 (our reservation was for 8:15, WoC was at 8:45) and there were two families in front of us. I don't think anyone has to be there early - everyone has a good seat, and our table was pre-selected for us.

The CMs were clear that no one was going to be let in until 8:15, so DH and my boys went to ride Silly Symphony Swings. I spent time talking to the people around me and the CMs, who were very friendly and helpful. Right at 8:15 we were let in, and we were given a high-top in the back row with a high-top in front of us, and it was still an amazing view. I could barely notice it (as you'll see in my photos)

ALLERGY ALERT - I had listed that my son had an allergy, and I was called 48 hours in advance to discuss it. They had it listed as a gluten allergy, but he actually only has issues with molds on fresh cheeses, such as Brie. In the end, I think they gave him the gluten-free plate, but the brie was missing from his plate, so it was perfect:
The gluten-free plate:

Note that it's missing the macaron, bundt cake, and waffle bowl, but has a mango gellee instead, as well as lots of fruit and the contents of the waffle bowl in a glass ramekin. He was very happy with it (and almost finished the whole thing!)

Here is the standard menu:
The standard dessert plate:

Our boys enjoyed the glow-with-the-show cups, but they were way too big to bring back on the airplane. Both my husband and I had the Wonderful cocktail - very good, but I like sweet drinks. Our server was great about bringing some hot chocolate and coffee right before WoC started.

My older son also enjoyed playing the little cell phone game where you can try to control the lights on Mickey's Fun Wheel. Best of all, we were able to slip out and run to the restroom right before the show started, as you have a wristband, and they let you right in through all of the crowds. I have to admit to feeling quite special on this night!

We got to sit back, enjoy the food and the sights and some of the best conversation of our entire trip. And then, this was our view:

The tree-like item smack dab in the center is the feather from the little girl in front of us - she was wearing Minnie headband with a peacock feather sticking out of it. I didn't really notice it at the time, but it looks pretty bad here. Needless to say, it didn't affect me at all.

I enjoyed WoC Celebrate much more than I expected. I'm a *massive* fan of the original WoC, and so I was already disappointed to not see my favorite version. While I feel there is too much Neil Patrick Harris (I didn't think that was possible, but in the end, I think his part is a bit obtrusive), both the Frozen and Star Wards sections of this show are amazing, and in general, the last 1/4 was really really fantastic.

Afterwards, you are in no way rushed to leave, and the CMs come back around to check on your. They don't even bring out to-go boxes until after the show. so they expect you to stay for a bit.

Two nights later, we were back in DCA, and I saw the CMs setting up the dessert party. Oh how I wanted to join them again! It was a huge splurge for us, but since we love on the East Coast and since this is probably one of the only times my kids will ever see WoC, it was SO worth it!

Feel free to ask any questions you might have!
Those are great pictures! Very helpful, thanks!

Wow. I wish I could do this but $79/person is steep for a party of 5. Plus it would also be something for my 9 year old daughter to get a cup that my 13 year old nephew cannot get.

we are a party of 5 too...and thinking about this option. i am curious about the seating though. looks like most tables have 4 seats. i'm guessing they just add an extra chair to a table?

anyone with children have experience with this? do families with children typically get the shorter tables?

Curious - and I apologize if this has been covered already - but:

1. Will this extend past September 5th?
2. Do you prepay for this like Fantasmic or pay at the time of the party?

1. We have reservations for Sept 19th.

2. Prepay.

In early July my family of four experienced the WOC dessert party for the first time. We really liked it. Big thumbs up from all of us. We visit Dland about once a year and had stopped going to WOC for past three years because we just hated the long wait and the stress of trying to hold your spot once you got in and then having tall people or kids on shoulders blocking view (we're shorties). It just didn't seem worth it to wait and hustle and then have to stand through the whole thing.

OK, a brand new day with the WOC dessert party. I like it better than the F! dessert seating of yore because you get a table and table service for WOC. Chairs and a table - what a treat! And you don't have to line up hours in advance. We got there right when they were letting people in, and we were even the last in line but since the party was not sold out (I counted six tables empty) we still had a choice of really great views. It was Fourth of July weekend and not sold out (amazing) and so our server was not at all stressed very gracious and spent loads of time chatting and bringing us pretty much unlimited drinks. I had the champagne and then numerous cups of coffee. The dessert plate was truly good - cheese and bread for dinner then sweets for dessert. In fact we did make it our dinner that night so was not much more expensive then another Dland sit down restaurant only with this you get the WOC show. And I have to say seated, with no one blocking my view, I enjoyed WOC for the first time. It's a great show when you don't have to keep people from elbowing their way in front of you.

If we can afford it, this is the way we'll see WOC from now on. It's the best new thing we tried at Dland this summer. (Okay riding Luigi's little spinny cars at night with my giggling 19 year-old son creating copious bubbles w his Ariel wand was a close second.)

I think that your 13 year old will most likely get a cup. My 12 1/2 year old is 5'5" and looks older, she was given the cup and no one asked her age.

My 11 year old DD was finally given the cup after we asked about it. And even then these 2 servers questioned us about it and said that she had to be under 13. My DH and I both said she was 11! Then one of the servers gave us a look like if you say so. I mean she is tall and does look older, but she's 11. That put a bad taste in my mouth about the party. Not to mention everyone else around us getting refills on their drinks before us and the server dropping sparkling wine in my lap. And they acted like it happened all the time and was no big deal.

I wasn't too pleased after that with the party itself, but the show was great.
