Working on Weight Loss and getting Lean!

Hey Leanies!

I hope you all take pity on me and post today -- I don't care what it is about -- anyone have a hang nail? I'm just hoping to keep myself awake at a conference today and I need reading material! I won't be able to post, but I will be able to read -- any little thing will do. Every waking moment of your weekend, your plans for this week, Christmas lists, holiday plans -- I am open to avidly read all of it!

Maria :upsidedow

I'll take pity on you! Poor Maria!

I really don't have much to say though....

I hate to say it, but weight loss isn't happening for me. I have been really lazy with eating right.....I do want to get my A** in gear and start back on a healthy lifestyle!

I had to skip Richmond this past weekend....my dh had other things to get done, so I missed it. I bet it was perfect weather for a 1/2!

I hope there is better news from our other leannies!

Beth

Hi ladies. No better news from me today. I am sitting here eating a bag of pretzel m&ms (thank you Vicky for getting me addicted to these things ;)).

I ran 14 miles yesterday and had the worst run of my life. I hated every minute of it. That has never happened before. I had the best time the weekend before with my 20, but I just couldn't mentally get into the run yesterday. Then, my glute hurt so bad afterwards that I just couldn't get comfortable. So, I am medicating with sugar.

Harrison's birthday went very well. His friends all had a great time at the laser tag party. Then, his dinner with family here went very well. I am just glad it's over. We gave him an Airsoft gun against my wishes. I am totally anti toy guns and especially real bb guns, but he's been begging and his dad seemed to think it would be a good idea. :eek:I guess it's an opportunity to teach him gun safety, but I still don't like it.

I found a super cute purse on the disneystore website that I wanted. It's the Minnie Mouse tote bag. We got that email for 20% off, but I just couldn't justify it. It's sooooo cute though. I wish Frank would take the hint and get it for me for Christmas, but he just doesn't think purses should cost that much. What does he know, right? ;)

Anyway, I hope you can get through your day Maria. Maybe we can hear from some of our missing ladies. I want to hear about everyone's lives! :)

Hi ladies! Well I survived the weekend with my parents and sister and made it back in one piece  Everyone was on their best behaviour so we all had a good time. I can't say that I'd want to go on a longer vacation with them but it was definitely nice to get out of the city and as Tandy knows - I'm all for a little retail therapy! But now it's back to reality, work, training and clean(ish) eating ;)

Tandy - Sorry to hear about your 14 miler. At least you got the miles in and it's done with! I think I'm going into the full seriously undertrained but I'll take that over running with gimpy knee  Do you have The Stick or a foam roller? It might help with the glutes. Sounds like Harrison's birthday was a lot of fun! Did you take part in the laser tag or was it just the kids? I haven't played laser tag in years but I remember it being lots of fun (despite not actually hitting anything). Is he having fun with his gun? I've always wanted to go to a shooting range myself but I hear ya on guns for kids!

Beth - I hear ya on the eating! My mileage has been low so I've been trying desperately to watch what I eat but there are just too many treats and temptations. Sorry to hear you had to miss the half. Were you able to postpone your entry to next year's race?

Maria - Sorry I wasn't able to post on the boards yesterday but I hope my email was equally as distracting. Are you back in the office today? It's always nice to get out of the office and change up your work day :) And if it is a boring conference, you'll always have us to help provide distractions

AFM - So I spent the weekend in Michigan with my family. Everyone behaved and so it was a fun trip :) I also convinced them to go to Olive Garden - we use to have Olive Garden restaurants in Canada but they all closed down maybe 10 years ago? So it was a real treat for me - plus I'm a carb fiend and I love pasta! I picked up some running gear while I was down there. I bought a pair of Nike Triax Structure 13 shoes and a pair of fleece running gloves. No running jackets at the Nike outlet - go figure. I figured I'd give the Nike shoes a shot since the NB were working out. I wanted to get a pair now so that if they worked out, I could order a few pairs to be shipped to the hotel in January. Other than that, I also shopped at the Banana Republic outlets, they had an additional 30% off coupon so I grabbed a bunch of stuff for work. I thought I grabbed a lot of stuff but I saw some other woman who had two shopping baskets full of clothing! Coach had an additional 20% off so I picked up a few Christmas gifts there and a small purse for myself :)

Last night, I did a split training and treatment session. More Graston on both knees and some on my shins. Ouch! I hate doing treatments on my shins - they're just not fun. On another running break until Thursday but will go for boxing on Wednesday and a short training session on Thursday evening. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll be able to do a long run on Saturday, even if it's something like 8-10 miles.

More ex drama ... He says he's confused and maybe made a mistake about everything. I wonder if it's just a passing thought. So now I'm just as confused and back to feeling anxious and having a million thoughts running through my head. Just when I was starting to feel okay about my life. But anyway...

So I'm starting to look at taking classes and possibly a career change. I know a lot of people say it but I'm really not a 9 to 5, sitting at my desk all day kind of person. I like the people I work with but some days I feel like I'm never going to get more responsibility, move up or anything like that. I'm looking into something health care related like a physican assistant or nutrition. I guess I'm going to sound like I'm 90-years-old for a minute here but when I went to school, tuition was $3,500. How do people afford to go to school nowadays? I have a friend taking an MBA who's paying $20K/year in tuition. So this kind of conflicts with the whole buying a place idea :(

I was talking to one of the trainers at my gym about the police physical. One of my friends is taking it and having a tough time passing it. The trainers agreed that I could easily do it with little prep but I'm not sure if it's something I'd want to do. Although once a upon a time I did want to do forensics … before shows like CSI were cool ;) Not sure if I could handle idea of working an overnight shift. So I'm giving myself all of next year to research and figure out what I want to do :) And if anyone has suggestions feel free to jump in!

Have a great day everyone! :wave2:

Oh, Vicky, we will have a lot to talk about during the full. I'm going for a career change as well. Okay, not a change, just a career! I'm thinking of going to nursing school. I want to do something that doesn't involve a desk all day also. And, I wanted to be a forensic pathologist in the late 80s, way before CSI! :lmao: My dream job, believe it or not, would be something like park ranger in the Colorado mtns, but since I live in flat, boring Kansas, I wouldn't want to do it here. That's part of why I'm running the full this year. It will be my last year to have a lot of time for training. I figure I'll start school next fall. I already have personal trainer certification, so I had debated moving to nutrition, but I think I should practice what I preach, so that's out right now! :lmao:

I'm glad you had a good time with the family. Sounds like some good shopping too! :thumbsup2 As far as the ex goes, please don't stress about his indecision. When he figures it all out, then you can worry about it! It's just his problem, not yours! :thumbsup2

My 6 miler is today, so I've got to get out there. It's perfect weather today. Sunny with a high in the upper 50s!

Tandy - No way! How cool is that! We'll have to share notes during the race!! I actually did a co-op place at the Cororner's Office waay back in high school. I thought it was the coolest thing ever. The park ranger job sounds awesome! I had never even thought about that before. I think if I ever had all the time and money in the world, I'd love to train dogs to act in movies or compete in those agility competitions.

Good luck on your 6 miler!

Hi ladies. How's everyone doing? Is it getting cold for you all yet? We haven't had snow, but they're predicting it for Thanksgiving. :sad2:

I had a 4 mile run today and ran REALLY fast!!!!
I have had so many setbacks lately that it's nice to have a positive.
Eating is going horribly still. I am so tired of feeling out of control about this.

Vicky: Training dogs would be a fun career. Of course, you have to love dogs to do it, right? ;) My dog is such a clown that he is really fun to train. He's got quite a repertoire of tricks up his sleeve.

Beth: I'm sorry to hear you had to drop out of the half. I'm sure there will be another in your future shortly. Do you have another one planned already?

Maria: How did the conference go? Did you make it through okay? Sorry we weren't very entertaining, but we just must all have boring lives right now.

Where are our missing leanies? Check in soon ladies. I don't have Facebook and am at the mercy of the Dis boards.

Just a quick check-in. I did office laps today and I'm off to the subway in a few minutes.

I hope everyone is enjoying getting ready for Thanksgiving (and Vicky, I hope you are getting an early start on Christmas!).

I ran 10M Saturday, which felt decent. I have a short day tomorrow since ds has a half day (which ends at 10:30!) at school.

I finally bit the bullet and registered for Princess! I am starting to look forward to that more than the WDW Half, because I hope to be leaner ;) Still fooling with the airfare. My goodness it's ridiculous, but I'm in now!

Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving! I hope to check in tomorrow, but wanted to get it out there just in case!

Maria :upsidedow

Happy Thanksgiving Ladies!!!! I hope you are all able to stay active and maybe eat one or two healthy things with all the yummy traditional foods. :flower3:

Happy belated Thanksgiving!

Had a relatively low-key holiday. Our oven is still non-functional, and I think I like it that way. I have been researching replacement options, but didn't get it done in time to cook Thanksgiving dinner. So we went out yesterday, after seeing "Harry Potter," and went to the in-laws today for the family get-together.

We did get up yesterday and do the annual Turkey Trot (8K, which is actually 5.01 miles instead of the 4.8 that it should be. How they claim it's a "certified" course I'll never know...:confused3) I've run exactly once since MCM, and I've been sick for the last two weeks, so it was a long shot to try, but I came within 36 seconds of last year's time, which was a course PR for me! I can't imagine what I would have done if I hadn't taken the 3-4 minute walk break after mile 3 when my head started pounding and I started feeling dizzy... I did the last mile with :30/:30 intervals - had never tried that, even though Jeff Galloway's been advocating those for the last year or so. Didn't REALLY believe they would work, but apparently you can still run a fairly decent time even with the shorter intervals.

Unfortunately, the PF didn't like the fact that I tried to run, and walking has been extremely painful ever since. Oh, the price we pay for this habit... I'd pretty much given up on running until I can see the ortho and have the hip surgery, but this race is one of my favorites and I just couldn't pass it up.

And no, I haven't called the ortho yet. I've been waiting to get the inventory completed at work. The count is done, and most of the data entry is finished, but I still have a couple of days of loose ends to tie up. I'll probably call him on Monday and schedule the appointment though, so I can get the procedure scheduled before the end of the year. Ironically, it's not the hip I'm worried about, but I know I need to take a break so the foot can heal!

As for eating, we can just skip that subject.

Jackie

Good morning lovely ladies. I am really missing you all. It seems that everyone is just so busy right now, and I know that's not going to change any time soon with the holidays.

Jackie: I'm happy you got to do your run, but sorry that you're struggling so much with the pf. I understand completely why you are too busy to call the doc about the surgery. :) The surgery is going to lay you up, so you want to get all loose ends tied up and work is busy. Yes, this is a horrible habit that we have, but I'm thinking of giving it up in January myself. We'll see how I feel then, but if I'm still hurting, I may just go back down to being a 3-5 mile runner. And, no, we do not need to talk about eating at all, believe me!

Maria: Good job getting that 10 miler in. Are you enjoying having your son home? Mine is going through a difficult phase (tween attitude) so having him home is a double edged sword. ;)

Vicky: How are you feeling? Any improvement in the knees? Have you made any decisions about the full vs. half? From some of your other posts, you seem to be really wrestling with what to do. Don't feel pressured to stick with the full on my account. I'd love to run it with you, but don't want you to hurt yourself.

AFM: Well, the 22 miles is in the books. I had my first real struggle in a run. Around mile 21 I really wanted to quit. But, the fact that it was only one more mile made it seem doable even though I was tanked. I walked up this really steep hill and then, just started running again. Got it done and in a good time. 3:20:08.
My biggest issue was my eating the day before. I ate enough food for 3 people, including an entire pumpkin pie! I also had 6 beers over the course of the day. That's just a lot of food and drink for me. So, it hit me hard during my run. After that, I decided to get my act together. I went shopping this morning and bought lots and lots of healthy, good food. I also bought a lot more stuff to make actual meals. We've been taking the easy way out and eating out a lot the last month or so. I'm starting to get lots of stomach pain again which just proves to me that my diet sucks.

I hope you all have a great weekend.

Hi ladies! Hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving and weekend? Are you still working through the leftovers? Anyone go shopping on Black Friday?

Tandy - So knock on wood but I had two pain free runs this weekend both with paces under 11 m/m. I kept my knee in a compression sleeve/brace for most of last week. It was a bit easier to sleep because I sometimes sleep on my stomach. But I also had acupuncture done as well. So hopefully everything will stay like this until January. I've got an appointment with a sports doc Friday afternoon to check things out further. For now you are (unfortunately) stuck with me for January

If you're running 21 miles, you just might need the calories and energy from that pumpkin pie! Fantastic time btw! I get stomach pain and bloating too when I'm not eating properly. I think your body is just use to getting clean foods and that's it's way of telling you to keep away from the other stuff.

Maria - Kim and I booked airfare on Friday. We're there Wednesday to Tuesday. It was originally suppose to be Thursday to Tuesday but airfare on Thursday was more than double that of Wednesday so we weren't going to fly out that day. Still haven't registered yet :) And yes, I'll get an early start on my shopping this year. I've got a list so I'm halfway there! WTG on the 10 miler last weekend! Did you get in any miles during the Thanksgiving weekend or were you pretty busy with family stuff?

Jackie - I was reading up about a personal trainer I saw on TV who said he did a half marathon using run/walk intervals. I believe the intervals were 10/1 and he finished in under 1:40 which I didn't think was possible using intervals. Like Tandy, I sometimes wonder if all this distance is worth the sprains, aches and pains.

Beth/Debra/Cindy/Jeannie - :wave2:

AFM - The eating ... I haven't been able to cut the sugar out but I'm working on it. Umm... just not very hard  I've got training tonight and that's about it. I made an appointment to see a sports doc about my knee. I'm going in this Friday so it will be interesting to see what he has to say. After reading different posts about torn meniscus and stress fractures, I just want to have some peace of mind.

The past weekend, I ate waay too much. I went out with a friend on Saturday for dinner where we both got dessert afterward. He asked what kind of dessert he should get, so I said tiramisu because I wanted a bite. For whatever reason, I guess he didn't realize that tiramisu had dairy in it ... so I got more than a bite. Then Sunday, I met a friend from work for dim sum - which is a Chinese style brunch. You basically order a lot of tapas style dishes but unfortunately, a lot of them are fried, have rice or are just loaded with calories in some other way. I ordered a pair of CW-X tights in small so I'd better clean things up or they'll arrive and not fit

Have a great day ladies! :wave2:

Good Afternoon, Leanies!

I should be over on the BL Thread coaching, but I know I don't have time for all those replies before my webinar this afternoon, so I thought I'd try to check in with the Leanies instead! :goodvibes

Vicky -- We had a lovely Thanksgiving, just watching the Patriots and nibbling. I don't think I ate a real meal all day long...;) Anyway, it has been crazy-busy since then. We didn't go out shopping on Black Friday, but I did do internet shopping, which I finished up today. I'm a big fan of Cyber Monday! ::yes::

Tandy -- 22 miles -- Fantastic! That tween attitude...hang in there!

Jackie -- Glad you enjoyed the Turkey Trot! Good luck finishing up the inventory!

Good news for me on the WW front -- fruit is 0 points on their new program! This is good, because I can eat fruit and satisfy my sweet tooth without tanking my exercise efforts.

Ok, webinar is starting...

Maria :upsidedow

Hello everyone....can I quietly sneak back in here? I truly can't remember the last time I posted....or even read the thread for that matter! I think it was somewhere between wedding #2 and wedding #3, but before the Wine and Dine! I have also not been on a scale since then as well. At this point I'm just hoping I'm still in One-derland, but can't be sure. I NEED HELP....BADLY! Slowly but surely, my life is returning to normal which is a good thing. I'm getting ready to go to WDW for a 4-night mini-vacation this week, and then, of course, we have the holidays so I probably won't be doing any heavy-duty dieting in December. I just don't want to blow everything I had worked so hard for earlier in the year. Besides, I miss you guys! Please forgive me for not going back and reading all the old posts. If you're on FB, I am probably somewhat caught up, but please enlighten me if anything earth shattering has happened and I missed it.
It's good to be back!

Good Morning, Leanies!

Jeanne! -- How fabulous to see you posting, we have missed you! The scale has not been kind to me, either, and I haven't had all those celebrations! Enjoy your mini vacation this week -- I'm sure you will be so busy looking at all the decorations you won't have time to eat! ;) Do give us all the details of your stay, I could use a WDW "fix" right now :santa:

Vicky -- I'm going to have to have you guide me through dim sum sometime! I'm intrigued by the idea, but intimidated by not knowing what I'm ordering or how to even do it :confused3

Tandy -- I'm glad you're restocked with lots of healthy food, that will help tremendously! ::yes::

I am well into my Christmas shopping. I have a couple more things to order online, and a few more to get in stores for family members. I also need to get shirts and ties for my dh, I have his books, dvd, and wii games ready to go.

I was supposed to have yoga today, but just got an e-mail it's cancelled. This makes me sad, it was super-Relaxation yoga day...and by the time I get home I am going to be to tired to run.

We had an interesting surprise setting up our outdoor decorations last night. We don't normally do much outdoors, but this year I was bitten by the bug. One of the items we bought was an inflatable Mickey Mouse with a present, from Home Depot. We got it out of the box, and it was Snoopy and Woodstock on his doghouse. It's really cute and I'm not taking it back, but there goes my Disney decoration! It wasn't easy convincing dh to get it in the first place, and he now believes fate wants the Disney to go :rotfl2:

Everyone have an awesome day!

Maria :upsidedow

Well, good morning ladies. I'm so happy to see all this posting. :)

Jeanne: Welcome back!!!! Of course you don't have to go through all that reading to rejoin us. We just want to hear how that third wedding went. Eating hasn't really been good for anyone here, so don't worry.

Maria: It must be a sign, although I don't like what the sign is saying. No Disney! Ugh. I'm glad to hear fruit is now 0 pts at WW. It's silly that it hasn't always been the case. When a person is out of points, they should still be able to have all the fruits and veggies they want. Good job on the shopping. I am done as well. Now, I just need to get started on the Christmas cards.

Vicky: :yay:Pain Free!!!:yay: To quote Huey Lewis "I am happy to be stuck with you".
Everytime I hear the words dim sum it reminds me of the movie "Working girl" with Melanie Griffith.
I hope the tights help with the knee compression. And, I hope they fit. I can't order stuff online unless I have already tried it on in person. I have a weird body that is hard to fit. I still haven't found a pair of jeans that fit me.

AFM: I started a journal and am hoping it will make me acknowledge everything I am eating. I am, at this moment, 5 pounds from my goal marathon weight. Not a big deal, I know, but it's the same darn 5 pounds I haven't been able to lose in 9 years. I ate really well yesterday, so let's hope it works.

I ran 5 miles yesterday and slowed it down a bit. After the 22, I was just tired, and don't feel like I had enough time to recover. I'm supposed to run 7 today and I really hope I find the time to do it. We have flurries this morning, so I'd like to get out there. I had a bit of an embarrassing issue after my 22 miles. Because I'm so top heavy, I had blisters on the bottom of my chest. That's never happened before. I was wearing my oldest sports bra, but still, blisters! So, now, running is kind of making those feel bad. It's a sweaty area. Yuck!

Anyway, have a great day everyone. Hope to hear from the rest of our wayward ladies soon.

Tandy: just popping in with some quick advice. I can well sympathize with your problem. It plagued me until I finally had to do something about it surgically. I didn't suffer so much from blisters, but really bad chafing whenever I put in long miles. I discovered that Desitin works like a dream on the problem spots. Not as a pre-treatment, but as a remedy. I use it for everything and it really promotes fast healing....probably because it is so thick and doesn't rub off easily. I even use the dollar store brand (the one I have is Dr. Sheffield's!), but it works great.

Going out of town early Thursday, but will try to post a few photos from the 3rd wedding before then.

Hi leanies! Hope everyone is having a great night :)

Tandy - The very first time I ran 25K, I ended up with chafing all over my chest. I was wearing the same bra and shirt I'd wear for half marathons (and trust me I'm nowhere near top heavy  ) but each time I run now, nothing happens. Maybe it's just your body and clothing getting use to longer distances. Not sure what you can do to prevent rubbing on the blisters but congrats on the 22 miles!

Maria - The Snoopy decoration sounds really cute! I wonder if the Chinese restaurant in Epcot has dim sum dishes. Maybe we can have a lunch there in February. Glad to hear that fruit is 0 points. I know fruits like mangoes and pineapple tend to be high in sugar but that's got to be better than munching on a cookie or ice cream.

Jeanne - Welcome back! Can't wait to hear how the weddings went! This seems to be the time of year where everyone's eating goes off track.

AFM - I'm going back on no sugar. Tough but I need to lean out a bit in order to be comfortable in my tights and there are a few parties scheduled for December so whatever I can get rid of will be good. My eating for the past few weeks has not been good but new month, so a new start.

I did a training session at the gym yesterday and was able to do some lunging with weights and incorporate a few jumping exercises as well. My chiro says she's pretty sure I don't have a torn meniscus or stress fracture but is still all for me going to the sports doc. I told her that I need to lean out and she asked me by when and I said "Oh maybe December 18th?" She said that's 2.5 weeks! Yikes! I guess it is :) I thought I had more time. Anyway, I've got boxing tomorrow and then a short training session on Thursday. Guess now I have to go to yoga on Saturday!

Good Morning, Lean Lovelies!

Vicky -- I am so impressed with how well-rounded you are in your exercise! If there's any way to lean out, you will find it! I hope the sports doctor can prescribe something quick and easy to make a big difference :thumbsup2

Jeanne -- You know we want to see the newlyweds! I'd also love to hear how W&D went -- forgive me if I'm confused or if you already told us :rolleyes1 I lose track of these things...

Tandy -- So sorry about the blisters  That is just unfair -- you're doing something so good for you, and you get that! :sad2: Thanks for the reminder about the Christmas cards. I bought some, but I've made no effort to get started. It's on the list! ;)

Jackie -- Did you finish that inventory? How are you feeling these days? :flower3:

Cindy -- How are you doing? I've been thinking of you lately and hoping things are going well! :goodvibes

Debra -- How are we supposed to face the holiday movie season without your guidance?! :)

Manda -- I believe you're due for a check-in, too! :surfweb:

I'm very pleased to report I did 3M on the TM this morning. I wanted to do 4, but I got up too late, and dh really needed to leave...:headache: On the bright side, I got another 25min of office laps in before anyone else showed up, and I'm feeling bright and chipper this morning! One reason I'm happy is I'm having a banana for breakfast. I know how ridiculous that sounds, but I had given them up because they were too "costly" on WW. Anyway, now I have this license to eat fruit, I'm finding I don't even want the 100 cal packs. I don't even think I'll finish the ones I have, I'll just put them out in my office for people to eat. I enjoy a piece of fresh fruit much more, which I had somehow forgotten :confused3

I'd better get going on my morning -- it would be good to accomplish some work! :rotfl:

Maria :upsidedow

Maria - I believe that as of tomorrow I'll be able to say that inventory is 100% complete, at least on my end. Once the count is done, there's several days of data entry and research, and there were a few stragglers that all found their way home today. Then there's a lot of paperwork to be collected and turned in to corporate, and I hope to mail all that off tomorrow. Then it's all up to the accountants to do the reconciliation. I'm just happy that I'm turning my stuff in within a couple of weeks of the count, while there are other locations that did their count 2-3 months ago and haven't turned their paperwork in yet. Not that I'm tooting my own horn or anything... ;)
And I went to the ortho on Tuesday, and we tentatively scheduled the hip procedure. He wants to do a CT scan, so we're waiting to get that scheduled, and once that's done it's a matter of getting a date on the calendar. His nurse is hoping for somewhere between Dec 10-14.

Vicky - I think the sports doc is a good idea. I'm all for getting answers these days! Good luck leaning out by the 18th. If you're successful, maybe you could lean a little extra for me? And I do think you can probably do a 1:40 half with intervals. DH usually does 4:1, and his first half was 1:56. He trained all year with the goal of doing the last one in 1:45, and had planned to do it in the same intervals. Unfortunately, he forgot the Gymboss timer that morning, so he decided to run straight through instead so he didn't get a chance to test his belief that he could do that time with intervals. But he did do a 1:42!

Tandy - Congrats on the 22 miles. I don't have any words of advice for the blisters either. I've been having all sorts of new chafing problems in places that have never bothered me before, and size isn't an issue for me.

I want to add congratulations to Jeanne. She and her family have been the stars of the local paper for the past couple of weeks. Not only did they totally dominate the wedding section, but one of the columnists picked up the "three weddings and an Emmy" and did his column on them as well. It's been so much fun reading and saying "I know them!"

I'm very envious of Maria and her excitement over fruit. After spending the summer getting acquainted with fruit in general, and finding that I really did like it, I can't get excited about any fruit right now. The only thing that seems to interest me now is chocolate. Lots of chocolate. Chocolate chip cookies, chocolate cake, M&M's. Fruit would be a much better choice... :guilty:

I'm really hoping that the hip procedure works. And that the plantar fasciitis goes away while I'm recovering. And that the corn on the 4th toe goes away too. And I think I'm going to have my podiatrist remove the ingrown toenail that's been bothering me for the past couple of years while I'm not running and getting everything else fixed. Why not do it all at one time and then take 3 months off, let everything heal, and then start fresh in the spring? And hope I'm sane enough then to remember how to run?

And so you guys can start laughing now, and maybe be through by next spring... remember a post about a month ago? Something about MCM being my last full marathon? My running buddy and I were talking Sunday, and we agreed that we're both going to register for MCM again in 2011. (I do, however, reserve the right to change my registration to the 10K as the date gets closer.)

Gotta go watch TV - DH bought our Christmas present early. We have FINALLY joined the 21st century and are the proud owners of our first flat screen TV. 42". After 20 years with a 25" non-HDTV, I feel like a kid in a candy store!
