Working at the Disney Store/Benefits

Has anyone worked recently at The Disney Store (typically in a mall)? I am a "mature" woman who loves Disney (passholder, etc) and I'm thinking a job at one of the stores would be fun. I am also wondering if they offer any kind of health benefits, as my husband and I are both unemployed and need benefits. Of course, the best benefit would be becoming part of the Disney family but sometimes other things are just as important.

That's kind of what I was thinking too....but, as you say, they may have some kind of plan that can be purchased. I think I'll take myself up there tomorrow and just apply anyway

As a part-timer at WDW I am eligible for health benefits. However I did not take them up on that as I have a much better health plan through the Government (as a retiree). A person who is full time (regularly more than 32 hours a week) is eligible for a better plan.

Unless you were in a managerial position you would immediately be eligible for a 20% discount on all Disney merchandise purchases; once you have three years of service that will jump to 35%. (Managerial is 35% no matter how long employed.)

And limited free access to the Parks and the ability to puchase discounted tickets to the Parks.

Thank you very much for the info! I figured there would be a merchandise discount, like any retailer, but it's nice to know some kind of health plan may be available. If I get hired, I'll post what the latest offers are.
