Is there a web site or "reliable" source of information of what jobs get paid what in WDW? I am considering moving down to FLA to work at WDW, however, I would like to know how much (or little) you get paid. I was talking to a CM at a resort bus stop in MK and she said the bus drivers make the most hourly... Question is, what is that number?

The job postings themselves on the disney careers website usually have the amounts. Bus drivers do make slightly more than attractions and food service workers.

You can look at their job postings. I don't think a list is available.

I think i'd like to be in ticketing. Money aside.
People are, for the most part, just arriving - so happy to be there (I know, I've worked with the public before, there will always be pills to deal with)... and I'm good with systems and figuring things out. One more CM who knows how to bridge a UT or issue a YES would be a good thing I think...

As of 3/31/13 starting pay:
Vacation Planner = $8.85/hr
Front Desk (no ticketing) = $9.35/hr
Concierge = $9.85
Bus Driver = $11.15

From a non managerial standpoint, I would imagine the servers and bartenders have to be among the best paid at WDW

THIS. When you factor in around 18% on the cost of Disney dining, it would generally equal better than just about any other front line job. How's the general job market in Orlando? (not just Disney) I know some areas have especially "hot" job markets that are always having a hard time keeping front line jobs staffed (Atlantic City in the past comes to mind) Just wondering if the area is as tough to get a job as the rest of the country or whether they are having to really recruit hard for quality employees.

Wow thanks. Ill check out the web site. The cm made it seem like the drivers made like 20.00 an hour. I think I'd like to work in a resort... That way you don't burn out on the park you work at...

I would love to work in a resort as well, for the same reason as you. If I had my choice, I think I would like to work in the Poly, either front desk or CL-so I could surprise guests with special things & watch Wishes from the lounge :cloud9:

My DH says he would like to be a server at V&A.

Bus drivers most likely need a CDL license which would be a reason why they would get paid more. There is much more liability in their job than in a ticketing employee, etc. In my area, $11.00 is about what a school bus driver starts out at. I wouldn't do that for all the money in the world!

LOL...I tried to get into the college program, couldn't get past the ethics/morals quiz :confused3

Wow! We are just back and I had only positive interactions with the bus drivers, counter service help, concierge staff and really everyone. Now to find out they were making less than $9/hour! Disney is doing something to keep them that happy. I wonder how many are actually living on that amount.

They're making less than $9 but you can work as many hours as you wish. So you can make it if you want to work.

Not true: Disney doesnt like to pay OT if at all possible, so anything over 40 hrs is normally not approved. Except maybe at the busy times, easter Break, Christmas Break, depending on operational need. But normally, no OT is approved.

Everyone seems pretty happy. And the CM I talked to said they get awesome perks. My dad made a good point though... I've been down in January and November only.. I haven't been down in mid July or August.... Maybe I'd feel different then?

It's hard to get full time for many roles. Most are part time and part timers only get up to 24 hours a week if they go over then they get capped. The majority of servers are part time. A lot of CMs work 2 jobs.

I know of one person who works where I do that works Disney part time and a neighbor who is a school teacher also works there part time. They do it because they love Disney and the perks of being a CM, but they definitely live on their regular jobs.

But Florida in general is not a place with high wages. I know a lot more people who work two (and sometimes three) jobs to make ends meet, than those who can live on one.
