At the Desert Inn from December 13-21! :cool1: We're going with some friends and sharing the c-2 family suite, four adults and four kiddos.

Can I just say, :woohoo:

Also- it was cheaper by $160 to call rather than booking online. :)

I just booked this morning too for November 10-23. It was $80 cheaper calling than online for me. I made sure they sent me a confirmation... just in case!

Have a great trip!

Thirteen days! I am jealous! Although we are so tired after five we'd probably be found comatose in our rooms after thirteen! :) I hope your trip is spectacular!

They said they were mailing me a confirmation, which is wonderful. I had a really bad experience with Park Vue last year, and having a confirmation would have avoided that. The gentleman who took my reservation was SO NICE, too!

I am so excited. :)

today i called and added the 4th of oct -11th
i havent even got our dates down for the dec trip yet tho my fionce is saying i should just book at desert inn since it seems to be cheaper and even if dlh's had sell hes asking me do i really want to spend 80 extra a night lol
desert inn sure seems to get alot bussness should i call for our dec trip now?

We only go once a year so I try to squeeze in as many days as I can! Plus we love to do things over and over and over again. This gives us plenty of time to make sure we don't miss anything and can take our time. I know some people think we are crazy because they have seen it all in 3 or 4 days. I would not fill like I had gotten my Disneyland fix! I'm just glad my family humors me and actually enjoy it too. You are right though, by the time we get back home we are pretty tuckered out! :faint:

I hope yours is fantastic too! The park is so purdy during the holiday season! :santa:

JadeDarkstar, I am a obsessive planner when it comes to Disneyland! As soon as I have settled on our dates I make any arrangements that I can. After I read that they had the rates posted on the DI site I wanted to make sure not to miss the dates I wanted. Also, after I saved something like $70 a night by booking early last year I became a confirmed believer in making those reservations early! Of course, I do keep checking back often just to make sure I've still got the best rate. You can always cancel if rates go down or your dates change but you can't go back after the rates go up. :thumbsup2

hum ok ty
i guess ill be looking at when to go soon then lol i want to make sure we can see elp

We haven't been since last March, so it'll have been almost two years when we go again, but eight days is our limit. (I just noticed I said five above, and I have no idea why.) We have our own business and that's a little longer than we should be leaving it, you know?

And I am an obsessive planner too! My husband actually gave me a limit today- I am allowed to talk about disney all I want, but he only has to listen for 5 minutes a day. :D

Hmmm...I'm thinking I should call and see if I can get a better price than what I booked with them online a few nights ago. I can always cancel the web reservation, right?

Congratulations on making your reservations!

I realize that we do go longer than many people are able to go. Hey, but 8 days is not too shabby! :thumbsup2

Oh... on one hand I guess it's a fair deal on the other almost torture! :crazy2: Oh well, if you feel the need to ramble you have us here on the DIS board! :chat: You know you can always come and talk about Disneyland all you want!!!!

I made a deal with my DH too, although it is a bit different from yours. When he got his pilot's license he decided he wanted an airplane. At first I was appauled :sad2: at him wanting to spend that much money... but then.... I had an idea  to use it to my advantage! I now have GUARANTEED :woohoo: annual trips to Disneyland as long as he has the plane, even though we fly commercial rather than using his plane. A bit extreme perhaps but I figured he would mope and whine until he eventually wore me down anyway so this way we are both happy. The lengths some people will go to, right? :rolleyes1

Wonder what other deals have been made in the name of our beloved Disneyland? :scratchin

Never hurts to give give it a try. They do have an 800 number! Mine was basically the same rate during the week but online the rate was bumped up on the weekend. When I called they gave me the rate all the way across the board. Yep, you can always cancel as long as it's before their deadline... something like 24 hours or so.

I just tried to call and get rates for October and he said they weren't out yet, but they were on the internet. I have already booked for October and December because we aren't sure when we are going to go but I was hoping to get a better rate.

ok im calling tomrorow and putting something up. for my dec trip dose any one know when elp starts back for the christmas time?

Oooohhhh, you all are making me jealous! We were at the Disney Store the other day and I was looking at the adorable Christmas sweaters for the kids.... I told dh that if I bought them we'd just HAVE to go back to DL for Christmas next year. He agreed so I bought them (let's hope he was serious!)..... we've only been once and it was in late December - loved it! We go to WDW in the summers, but I'm thinking I now need a winter fix, too!

Just keep calling. I think sometimes it just depends on who you get on the phone and how busy they are.

Someone mentioned that last year it did not start back until December 23. I personally think it should run a lot more often than it does!

I would certainly try to hold him to it!!!

December 14 - Disney's Electrical Parade - starts its nightly run through January 6, 2008.

Hey thanks Jadestar for the tip to the Desert Inn-- I read your post yesterday and am very excited about the hotel. I think when planning our original trip I mixed up the Desert Inn with Destert Palms, but I think this is where I want to stay. Do you mind posting on the board how much you paid for the jacuzzi room? I called yesterday and just sort of casually asked about prices for next March and was quoted anywhere from $89 to $149 which seems very reasonable to me. BTW don't know what happened to the 'bad" thread since I posted- I hope they did pull the thread -- they are pretty reasonable monitors really. My post was only heartfelt. We would need 2 beds and I would love to get a jacuzzi suite if it is under $100. We after all have over a year to plan and save now and we are going to be there the last week of March. Spring break I know but I'm thinking it might actually be safe next year as I have learned most CA spring breaks are the week before or after Easter and Easter isn't until Apr. 12 next year. It's my kids last year of highschool and he is Autistic and I just don't want to pull him out of school if I could avoid it. I don't know-- it is so far off, I 'm going to at least wait to book anything until I know the convention center dates. I wonder when the unofficial guide to Disneyland comes out every year? Anyway the Desert Inn looks great to me, especially since we will be going when there is a much higher attendance than when we planned this year. Long story short husband got laid off, but got a better job within 2 weeks but we had to cancel our early Feb trip because he doesn't get vacation for a year now. We used to take the kids once every other year or so but haven't been since 2000? At any rate California Adventures wasn't open yet. So anyway I will have over a year to really get in tune to it via message boards and have personal best issues with frugality lol. All fun to me. I wish the money saving board on Dis boards wasn't all for Disneyworld. Or so it seems to me anyway. anyway-- didn't mean to write a book here ;-) Susan.

hay its cool 99 a night is what im paying for the two queen/then couch in living room with spa tub in oct.
in dec its 10dollers cheaper and i think its couse getting the king room in stead 2 queens that time.

Oh right on-- It's totally worth it in my opinion. Thank you. No dealing with putting on the wet bathing suit to go use the jacuzzi ugh. Or never able to use the jacuzzi because you are at the park till the pool area closes lol. Very important to us old ladies who still think they are teenagers lol. Rated # 9 on the Unofficial guide to Disneyland's list of best value hotels too ;-)

we got it mostly becouse I like to take baths to relax my legs after the long days. and its biger and I think would help them.
and it is only 10 dollers more a night to me isnt to much hehe
