Getting really excited here now. It's Daniel's Christmas Production this afternoon - he's a chicken

The girls' last couple of presents finally arrived yesterday - I was getting worried that they wouldn't be here on time. Just waiting for a couple of things I've ordered for Daniel and then we're all ready.

We've got lots of family and friends coming over the Christmas preiod so got a great excuse to have lots of food - and drink - in the house

What are everyone's plans for the Christmas period???

We are spending Christmas at home this year, Christmas dinner is being cooked by the Beefeater and we have a few family get togethers and festive footie to attend

we are playing it by ear at the moment with baby due so close to xmas..we are having xmas day at my parents as my brother is coming home from Oz and possibly boxing day df parents will be coming to us for the tea apart from that nothing else has been planned.

I like the sound of your Crimbo plans, I wish I could have a blow-out on chocolates, but I don't want to look a blob on holiday (I know, I've left it a bit late though )

Christmas day we'll be opening pressies, taking the tree and decorations down, having Christmas dinner and then heading up to the Travelodge at Manchester Airport ~ so it'll be a weird and exciting day too

I can't believe that it's less than 2 weeks till Christmas

I know!!! I feel somewhat unprepared but I'm sure it'll all come together over the next week...

I am enjoying the whole festive vibe at the moment! Last Friday I went to a Carol Concert for Breast Cancer Care in a beautiful Kensington church, so that made me feel very Christmasy. Last night I organised a drinks party in the West End for my DH's management team which was scary as I hadn't met any of them before but turned out to be a lot of fun. This weekend I'm going to a Christmas fair with DD and we'll be decorating the front of the house...

I love the week of Christmas as it's DD Sophie's birthday on December 23rd (she'll be 26!!! ) which is always special as we go out for a family meal, followed by mince pies and champagne for everyone who wants to pop in on Christmas Eve. On the big day this year we have all the children and their partners for present opening and Christmas dinner which will be fab! Then football and rellies on Boxing Day I believe...

I was, Mandy!!! Fortunately I had to get to the venue early and organise a few things so was able to have a glass of wine before they all arrived which helped...

Yes, it's rather yummy! This year it's a variation on a Mimosa so he's called it a Chrismosa - usually they're all called 'Dave' so this is a step forward, believe me!

Anyway, it's champagne, OJ (optional and only if you're a lightweight according to DH), Cointreau and crushed raspberries. The twist is that he's infused a bottle of Cointreau with cinnamon sticks to give it that Christmasy feel... It's worked amazingly well but IMO needs the juice as otherwise it's beyond alcoholic!!!

OMG absolutely! I can see me secretly making my own with just OJ and fizz whilst Christmas dinner is cooking... He's bought two huge bottles of Cointreau so clearly intends to be making a lot of Chrismosas!!! It's his contribution to Christmas, bless him...

Dd3 had her Christmas Play in Nursery and she was a Star and sung Twinkle Twinkle-she done really well.
Dd7 has her 2 showings next Mon+Tue eve-she will be an Angel+sing Away In A Manger.x.

Our plans for Christmas Day are my Nan+Grandad are coming round for dinner-which i will be cooking.
I am hoping my Mum will be round for a couple of hours in the late afternoon.
Boxing Day will be spent at either my Nan+Grandad's or my Mum's for a buffet.x.

Love the sound of the Chrimosa cocktail .x.

I have such a weird problem at the moment.

My lovely MIL broke her hip this year and so she doesn't want to do Christmas shopping so she sent us a big fat cheque each. The instruction is that we have to buy and wrap out own things to open on Chistmas Day. So no putting the money by for the January sales or a big bill.

I started last week by buying myself a lovely Parker pen - when I got to the till it was reduced by a third and then I got some more off because of the VAT thing.
This morning I saw a lovely fur lined gilet in Tesco for £30. Then I noticed it was reduced to £15 - but when I got to the till there was an extra 25% off jackets today and with the VAT thing it was about £11!
I just bought a supersoft dressing gown from BHS -they have 20% off today so that was £20 instead of £25.

Help!!!! I just can't spend this money.

I'm off in a while to a shop that sells Yankee Candles - I'm sure I can polish off a bit more cash there.
