Thanks!! I know, I'm so excited!! I'm going crazy!! I have pretty much everything, we're going to bring some breakfast/snack things down with us so that's the only thing we still need to buy. And no, I do not have anything packed!! :rotfl: I'm taking the suitcase up to my uncle's this weekend so I have to leave it unpacked for Disney until we get back! But after that in the suitcase the clothes go! Yeah I hope time slows to a halt while we're at Disney!

Disney Trivia of the Day

Star Tours

Listen for an announcement asking the owner of a speeder whose license plate has the number THX 1138, and would they please remove it from the no-hoover zone. THX 1138 was the first movie made by George Lucas in 1971, an adaptation of a short film he created while at the University of Southern California.

As you enter the room with the moving baskets along the Star Tours queue, look over the railing at the bits and pieces lying around. See if you can find the robotic Kermit the Frog sitting on the edge of one of the shelves below you and to the left of G2-9T, who is working on another robot. Then watch the foot connected to the pair of trousers lying to the left of Kermit. It moves!

In the second room you enter as you are queuing, take a look at the boxes passing by overhead. The letters and numbers on them are the initials and birthdates of the Imagineers who designed and created the attraction, another silent but not quite hidden set of signatures.

The Star Speeder 3000 you enter as you board Star Tours is the same motion simulator technology used by the United States military to train their pilots.

Poor Captain Rex never had a chance. Once you’re back on terra firma and the lights come back on, take a look at the red tag dangling from his processor. It reads, Remove Before Flight. (I’ve seen this one, my mom and I found it and we thought it was just the funniest thing!!)

If you pass by Star Tours in the evening when the area is quiet and you listen closely, you may hear Ewoks talking, chanting, and drumming. But remember, they only come out after sunset. You can hear them best near the building’s entry and at the far end of the forest, an area that normally is unused unless lines are extremely long.

Be sure to look up at the treetops as you are listening for the Ewoks and you’ll notice their little huts light up with nighttime fires.

Oh and I also got a purse from a local fair, it's a vera bradley and I got it for $40!! It was originally $63 on the website!! I love it!! It's "gently used" but it looks brand new! You can't even tell! The pattern is Purple Punch and the style is called Morgan. Here's a pic of it!

WOW...what a great deal you got on that Vera!!!! It is a gorgeous purse!!! I hope you will enjoy using it...I'm definitely a Vera fan!!!!

THank you for sharing all that trivia...I really enjoy reading it!! What great things to learn and know!! I can't wait to find some of those things and take photos of it!!

I also enjoyed looking at those pictures!!! THanks for sharing your Disney past with us!

Wow, what a cute purse! I love the colors on it!

Did you and Ian ever finish your Disney movie watching? And I don't remember if I asked before, but is he receptive to the idea of posing with characters? My BF will sometimes do it to humor me, but there are few characters he's willing to run up and pose with! I steer him clear of Jasmine, though. ;)

Btw, I have a new PTR up! I also intend to stop being horrible and finish my birthday TR.

What time is your flight the day you two leave? I don't know about you, but I usually can't sleep the night before I leave for WDW!

OMG!! I love your vera!! I love the purple punch style!!! I am vera obsessed-- I have a vera large hipster in petal pink, and a lunch box in bali blue- i might get one more before disney:) and i am thinking of getting on of the duffel bags for my carry on-- you got that purse for a awesome deal!!! I love flea market type places were you can find things like that:)

Thanks!! I've never really been a fan but they have been growing on me!! Probably because of all of you horrible enablers on these boards!! :rotfl: I love looking at my old pics, especially disney ones and I love sharing them. Glad you are enjoying them!!

Thanks!! We have one movie left, we decided to leave Cinderella for next weekend as the last movie, to me it's just the essence of disney! Plus we're finally going to watch the planning dvd because Ian requested that we leave it right to the end! I'm not sure how he's going to be, I think he'll pose with them if I ask him to but I think a few he might be excited about. I think because we've been watching the movies he's more interested in the characters so we'll see what happens. Hmm yes steer clear of any pretty princesses!! I will definitely remember that one!! ;) I just posted on your PTR!! I just noticed it when you posted on someone's else's report. Yes I really would like to know how your trip went! Geez you're really trying to drag the report out!! :rotfl: We leave at 6:15am so there won't be much sleeping anyway!! We're going to try to get to sleep as early as we can but I think I'll be running on pure adrenaline all day!! yeah there's no way I'm going to be able to sleep!!

Thanks!! It's really funny, it's the pattern I saw on the vera luggage when I was shopping for Ian and I thought how pretty I wish I had the money to buy it! And now I have it, just in a smaller version! I love how much of a deal I got plus all the money went to help one of the local center for mentally handicapped children so it all went to a good cause as well. I got my mom boxes of Christmas cards for $1 because she sends them to all of her clients. So we all got some good deals plus we helped out some kids!!

Wow...I'm seriously slacking here. I'm sorry. :flower3: Love your VB bag!

Haha, it's ok! Thanks!!

Ok guys I have some good news and sorta bad news (well not bad but it makes me grumpy). I'll give you the bad news first, I thought I wasn't going to have to work on Thursday because we were going to my aunt and uncle's house in NY but my boss couldn't get anyone to take my shift, so now I have to work until 10:30, which isn't late but I really thought I was going to have the day off! It really ticks me off because whenever someone else needs a day off, I take their shift without problem and I work whenever they ask me to without complaint but god forbid they get someone to work for me! Sorry for the rant but it just pi$%es me off!! Oh well at least it's not all day and we're only leaving an hour and a half later than we were going to. Well anyway the good news (and deslynn you'll like this one!) I got myself a new straightner!! Well my mom bought it for me as a congrats gift for passing my nclex (at least that's my excuse but really I think she just bought if for me for no reason!) Well I hope I love it. It's called an Amika and it's my favorite color, purple!! Here's a pic from the website.
51Kv7WZbogL__SS500_.jpg

I must say I wasn't going to get it because the original price was $250!! :scared1: Well I found it for $144 :scared1: Still a bit much for a straightner and I could never have my mom pay that much!! Then I found it for $116 ok a bit better but geez I know it's supposed to be really good (thanks deslynn!!) but still over a hundred bucks for something to do my hair with!! Well I went to my new favorite place to buy stuff online...Amazon!! I love amazon!! I found it for $50!!!! And I got free shipping!! I'm so excited so my new straightner is on it's way!! I'm hoping it gets here before Thurs so I can try it out this weekend!!

I really should finish that TR! I'll be moving this weekend, but hopefully I can try to squeeze out an update for it this week. I guess it makes the trip seem more recent to drag out my report? :confused3 And I'm really excited about this upcoming trip! But I hope that soon I can make a normal trip again, not just these short trips!

Yay for Cinderella! I sometimes break out my planning DVD just to reminisce!

Haha, yeah that Jasmine is one to watch out for, with her bare midriff and all. Last year Rob's parents went to WDW for the first time in about 25 years, and they ate at the princess buffet in Norway. His mom got up to get some food, and apparently his dad got a hold of her camera. Because later she was going through her pictures, and there were several close-ups of Jasmine that she didn't take!

Cute hair straightener, by the way! Oh I know how you feel, I can't imagine spending so much on something I use to do my hair. I don't even do my hair all that often, so I usually go cheap on products and tools for it. My mom bought me a Chi hair straightener a couple of months ago in return for a favor, but I've only used it like five times. I'm still not very good with it. And a curling iron? I have no idea how you use one of those!!

Amazon.com is one of my favorite things EVER. I could spend hours just browsing on there! It's a great place to get good deals on stuff.

You're almost into the single digits, aren't you? If you're not already! :dance3:

Oh hun if your busy don't worry about an update unless you really really want to. Believe me I'll make it until you can!! :rotfl: Soon hopefully a true disney trip but hey I know a lot of people who would be jealous that you take so many trips (including me!) even if they are short! Oh we have everything planned our for that weekend, we still have to finish the second Kingdom Hearts, finish our last minute shopping, watch Cinderella and the planning dvd, and pack!! Ahhh but we've pretty much figured it out, thankfully that means we'll keep busy and the time will go by faster!! I love that story about Rob's parents!! That so sounds like something some of my male friends would do!! Haha, don't know if Ian would have the guts to actually take pics but I'm sure he'll definitely be looking. Unfortunatly Aladdin is one of his favorite disney movies so I'm afraid we may have to see her! I was debating the chi but I really want to try this one, deslynn says it's amazing and it takes me forever to straighten my hair so I'm hoping it really cuts down on the time. If it does hopefully I'll be able to do it more often!! Please there's no way I can figure out a curling iron. The most I get with curling is spraying stuff in my hair and scrunching it!! Oh I've found so many different things for cheap on amazon, I love it!! Tomorrow is my 10 days and then single digits!! :dance3:

Disney Trivia of the Day

Backlot Express

Eddie Valliant’s famous ride in the Toontown taxi was build around the frame you see over in the corner. Look at the bulletin board behind the car frame to see before and after photos.

On your way to the Toontown Taxi frame, you passed under a yellow submarine hanging from the ceiling. No it isn’t in honor of the famous Beatles song, but it is from the famous MK attraction 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. The submarine was part of the background scenery you saw on your trip around the lagoon.

Exit through he doors on the right leading out to the upper seating area (as opposed to those exiting into the courtyard where the police car from Roger Rabbit is displayed). Before you exit look at the plaster casts on the shelf above the windows. While each one is interesting in its own right, the cast of the nun (second from the left) is particularly curious. So curious, in fact, that she notices everyone who enters and exits. Watch her eyes as you pass by; she is watching you!

Oh and Ian ordered one more last minute shirt for our trip. It's a Kingdom Hearts shirt. He didn't really like it at first but then he really wanted it. He's been looking for one ever since we've been playing it and finally gave in last night. We're hoping it makes it here in time!! I think it will, it was shipped today so just waiting for it to arrive. Here's a pic from the website!!

I know I'm so excited!! It took me forever to get it, I just kept forgetting to look online for it since I couldn't find it in any stores! Oh no, naught hubby, how could he!! It's not like ebay. They get products from companies and just sell them at a cheaper price (at least I think that's what they do! Seems that way!) They have new and used things, my amika is new. They had like 4 or 5 left when I ordered mine so if you want a purple one I'd get on it!! (I'm pretty sure they had different colors so if you can't get the purple one you may be able to find it in a different color) Plus it's free shipping for orders over $25!! No tax so it was exactly $49!! I'll remember not to drop in on the floor! ;) I am pretty clumsy though but I usually straighten my hair in my room and it has carpet so hopefully that'll help! I'll definitely let you know what I think but it seems like I'll like it! I would definitely check out amazon, I got books really cheap as well! I love it!!

Oh my gosh, that straightener looks awesome!! Geeze, Amazon was a great deal! :woohoo:

Thanks!! Yeah it was an amazing deal, I'm so glad I found it cause over $100 is just too much for me!

I would definitely check out amazon, I got books really cheap as well! I love it!!

Oh my goodness, the books section on Amazon owns me. Any time I see a book I want, I write a note to check it out on Amazon, where it's almost always cheaper. Did you see where they have the new 2-disc Snow White DVD to pre-order? It comes out the week of Thanksgiving, I think. I may have to order it in the next few weeks, since I didn't buy it when it was released several years ago and right now pre-order price is like $17. A few months ago, I got two seasons of The Office for $42 as a double-pack deal, which to me was a pretty good bargain. Normally one season is $30-35.

Alright, enough Amazon rambling from me! Back to the Disney talk!! :surfweb:

Okay, you must let us know on the new hair iron. I have not heard of that one. I have crazy hair. I have chi iron but am not that impressed with it. I just gave up on straightening and let it do whatever it will. Somedays it is really curly like a perm, some kind of curly, and some just wavy. Crazy hair.

Any news on the job, or did I miss that. You dont have long now. Love Ian's new shirt.

We leave on Sunday and I am literally bouncing from the walls and ceiling. :woohoo:

Oh I know, I really can't look at recomendations on there (or any book website for that matter) because I'd end up spending all of my money on books!! :rotfl: A really cool thing is that Ian works at a factory that makes books so he gets to bring home ones that aren't perfect!! Yay more books for me!! Sometimes I just go shopping for books at his apartment!! Unfortunately the books are whatever they're making right then so if I want a specific one I still have to buy them but still I find out about some cool new books for free!! Oooo, hmm Snow White...ok I cannot spend any more money right now!! Ahhh stop enticing me with new things!! Haha, I love amazon!! Have you ever ordered school books on amazon, I haven't done it but perhaps I can do it for this semester.

I will definitely let you all know how it turns out, unfortunately it might not be here until August 5 so it'll be a while. Yeah my straightner now takes forever, it takes over an hour to straighten my hair now not to mention blowing it dry (which takes at least another 10-15 minutes!!) My hair is so gosh darn thick! My hair's crazy too, it really just does what it wants! No real news on the job yet but I did talk to a parent at the daycare I work at who also works at the nicu and she said the nurse manager texted her the night of my interview and said she was really glad she interviewed me and liked me a lot so it seems like I'll probably get it!! yeah I really like Ian's shirt, I just checked the order and it'll probably be at his house tomorrow!! It was really quick!! That's good because we weren't sure if it was going to be here before we left! He's decided to wear it on the way down so you'll see it in pics then!! Sorry it's such a small pic, the pics on the website have been annoying me and I just didn't feel like fixing it! Congrats on leaving so soon!! I just posted a response to your trip on LL's PTR so you'll have to go there and see what I said!! (Believe me it's not exciting!)

Disney Trivia of the Day

Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular

Indiana Jones controls the release of the spears on his way to retrieve the golden idol so he knows exactly when they will spring. But they are still real and he could get hurt.

The giant boulder doesn’t look heavy but in fact it’s made from 400 pounds of rubber.

George Lucas also wrote/co-wrote all of the Star Wars movies as well and the two series are tied together here at the Epic Stunt Spectacular when Indy delivers the line, “I’ve got a bad feeling about this,” just before the fight with the masked acrobats in the Cairo scene. This is also the same line Captain Rex said during Star Tours.

As you pass the entry to the show to the left of the entry down the path on the right hand side, there is a well with a sign saying, Do NOT pull the rope. Notice NOT has been crossed out; make sure you pull that rope!

Most guests walk right by the short pathway between the Indiana Jones theater and the Indiana Jones Adventure Outpost, but it’s worth taking a quick look. Movie props such as World War I tank and an army truck can be found in the landscaping, while the roof of the Adventure Outpost harbors a cleverly disguised sniper’s outlook.

Today is my 10 day mark!! :woohoo::cool1::dance3: I'm still debating whether I want to do the online check in or not! I think it'll be neat and much quicker but at the same time I love the check in process (I know I'm weird!), it just makes me feel like I'm really there!! Any suggestions?

Oh I know, I really can't look at recomendations on there (or any book website for that matter) because I'd end up spending all of my money on books!! :rotfl: A really cool thing is that Ian works at a factory that makes books so he gets to bring home ones that aren't perfect!! Have you ever ordered school books on amazon, I haven't done it but perhaps I can do it for this semester.

I ordered one book for a Literature class on Amazon once. The bookstore didn't order enough for the class, and so I ordered it on Amazon because we needed them ASAP for the class. A brand new copy on Amazon was about the same as a used copy in the bookstore, but I don't remember what the new book price was in the bookstore. It was definitely still cheaper. I wouldn't hesitate to buy textbooks there again!

Haha I want to be able to go book shopping at someone's apartment! :cloud9: Rob and I kinda do that in terms of borrowing books from each other, but I don't think it counts.

And I totally understand about the recommendations page! It's great because it's introduced me to a lot of great books that I would not have known about otherwise, but it's horrible because it makes me want to spend money! Most of the time I write down the books and try to find them at the library.
