Woohoo!!! I'm finally taking him to Disney World!!

Like the luggage and think you got a great deal for $40. He can use it for years to come, who knows maybe someday for your Honeymoon. ;)

I bet these days you would almost have to go to a bridal shop or somewhere that sales a lot of formal wear to get shoes dyed. I have done that since high school prom, awww the memories. :cloud9:

you can also look at the coloriffics website - they have a large selection and you can also order the shoes dyed already and they have a vendors search so you can go try them on if you like.

I always overspend too! But atleast now you will be more comfortable and don't have to worry about the duffle bag situation. It looks nice though! not bad for a nice piece of luggage!

yeah I feel so much better with the suitcase!! When you think about it it's not a bad price at all, could have been a lot worse!!

Haha, you never know!! yeah that's what we figured. She didn't want to spend a whole lot of money on them because she's really only going to wear them once. My mom also thought of like a prom store so we'll try those. Turns out we didn't go out today because she was stuck at work but we'll go out again soon!

Hmm I'll have to check that out. Thanks!! She definitely wants to try them on because of her needing a wide.

Disney Trivia of the Day

The Great Movie Ride

During the gangster version of the ride notice the license plate number on the car in the shootout scene. It’s 021-429, a variation on February 14, 1929, the date of the infamous St. Valentine’s Day Massacre in Chicago.

As soon as you enter the James Cagney scene just after the Mary Poppins setting, look at the posters on the wall to your left. The bottom of one of them has been torn, and you can see Mickey Mouse’s shoes peeking out from behind. You may also notice shadows passing by the window of the Patrick J. Ryan building as you enter the same scene.

Keep looking to your left as you pass through the gangster scene. You may catch a glimpse of Mickey’s silhouette in the right hand corner of the Western Chemical Company building’s upper window.

In the cowboy version of the ride, you may wonder of Wyatt Earp will come strolling out of the scenery, and your expectation wouldn’t be unreasonable. The town you travel through certainly recalls Tombstone, Arizona, “The town too tough to die.” Cochise County Court House (indicative of the county where Tombstone is actually located) is on your right, covered in Wells Fargo posters offering rewards for the Most Wanted outlaws. The Tombstone Epitaph is on your left, a recreation of the real life Tombstone Epitaph, which carried the story of the gunfight at the O.K. Corral in the October 27, 1881, edition. Curiously enough, the University of Arizona’s Department of Journalism still publishes a paper under that name, with the tag-line “No Tombstone Is Complete Without Its Epitaph.”

If you look to the right in the same scene, on the Cochise County Court House building, just past Clint Eastwood you’ll see a sign advertising Ransom Stoddard, Attorney Senator Ransom Stoddard was a character played by Jimmy Stewart in the 1962 John Wayne movie, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance.

If you are sitting on the extreme left side of the tram, you may be able to read the computer monitors if you peer over the edge of your vehicle as you travel through the Alien scene. The screen titled Crew Status Roster shows a listing of the Imagineers and designers of The Great Movie Ride. Notice each crew member’s current status; some are listed as missing while others have humorous notations next to their names.

You will be able to see Munchkin Land shortly before you enter the first Wizard of Oz scene. Notice how the Yellow brick Road forms itself into the letter O at the beginning, and then trails off toward the second scene. When you reach the scene with Dorothy and her friends, look at the Yellow Brick Road as it ends in front of the Emerald City. Notice how it forms the letter Z, effectively tying both scenes to the word Oz.

Oh by the way, I saw a thread on here that said to check the August hours because they had changed and guess what...they're doing a second Fantasmic!!!!! So we are definitely doing that. I always liked going to the later one, usually less crowded and I hope that holds true for this year as well!! Oh and MK is open an hour later too, so very cool!!

I have some exciting news for all of you, I got a call from the nurse manager from NICU at one of our local hospitals and I have an interview for tomorrow at 4!!! I hope I get the job, I would love to work in NICU, it was one of my favorite clinical rotations when I was in school!! So we'll see how it goes!!

Good luck with your interview!! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Haha I totally know what you mean about not being able to go shopping by yourself! Usually I'm pretty cheap, but I have my moments. The absolute worst stores to leave me unsupervised in are grocery stores and book stores. :guilty: I didn't see, but did you manage to refrain from purchasing shoes?

Your trip is getting so close, I'm so excited for you and Ian!! :wizard: Now I need to get off my butt and quit being such a bad DISer!

Thanks!! Oh geez book stores are horrible too!! Ahhh I could spend an entire paycheck on books! I ordered books online and it took me forever because I kept looking at the "recommended for you" books! :rotfl: Yeah, it actually worked out well because we were just looking for shoes that she needed for a wedding she's in so I didn't really have much temptation there! I know, I'm getting so excited, only 2 weekends left!!

Yeah that's what I'm hoping for too. Thanks, I think I'm really going to like it, my interview went well and I have a good feeling about it. I like the unit, it's so nice, they have individual rooms for the babies, which I think is great! The nurses all seem so nice and like they'd help you. I really hope I get it!!

good luck on the interview! i really hope you get them!

Thanks!! I really hope I get it too! The interview went great and I love the unit, it's so nice. I felt comfortable there already!!

Remember when I told you guys that we got a pic of "Madame Sara" from Mr. Toad's Wild ride (because of course my name is Sara and they actually spelled it right usually people put an h at the end which of course is the wrong way to spell it!), and it was good we did because the next time we went it was gone? Well here it is!!
scan0003.jpg

I had my interview today and it went really well. I have a really good feeling about getting the job. I really hope I do, I love the unit!! It's so nice and the nurses are just amazing. I really like how it's set up, there's individual room for the babies and there's monitors everywhere so you can always keep an eye on their vitals. I really want it!!! It's only part time job, 2 days a week but with this unit they have 12 hour shifts and full time is 3 days so it's not that much less. Plus I can always take on extra shifts if they're available. I'm really hoping!! Can you tell I'm excited!! I've never been this excited over a job before!!

Disney Trivia of the Day

Toy Story Mania

The large gateway you pass through is a replica of Pixar’s gateway in Emeryville, California, and the bricks used throughout the area were chosen to exactly match those at the Emeryville animation studio.

Once you pas under the Pixar gateway, walk over to the small building on your right. Andy has taped his crayon drawing of a Command Post setup on the window of the building’s doorway. Now turn around and look at the rooftops of the buildings on your left. He has set up his green army men, Scrabble game pieces, and Tinkertoys according to his hand-drawn diagram.

The blobs of pink and blue you see at the corners of the Lincoln Log creations are meant to be Play-Doh and Silly Putty, used as a quick fix to keep Andy’s constructions upright.

Some of Andy’s handiwork can be found on the wall just after you turn the corner past Mr. Potato Head, but before you pick up your 3-D glasses. Andy has painted some of his favorite characters; take a look toward the bottom of the finger painting where you see Nemo, just below him you’ll see a hidden Mickey!

Just before you enter the game itself, you will see the Toy Story Midway Games Play Set on the right hand wall, with a bar code on the bottom left side. There are several numbers around the bar code, but the number on the bottom left of the bar code is the number 121506. That number refers to the date Toy Story Midway Mania was officially announced as HS’s newest attraction in the making.

Before you leave the Pixar Studios area on your way to Streets of America, look at the poster advertising Toy Story Midway Mania, hanging from a light fixture to your right. The poster’s frame is made from used Popsicle sticks, stained so you can tell which flavor each of them was.

2 Weeks to go!!!!!! :woohoo::woohoo::cool1::cool1::banana::banana:

Disney Trivia of the Day

Muppet Vision 3D

As you approach Muppet Vision 3-D (from the Star Tours side) you will see a long wall topped with planters full of flowers. However one of the planters isn’t filled with a bouquet. Instead it’s an ice cream sundae. And if you look at the planter at the far end, you’ll see that someone already ate the sundae contained in that planter, leaving nothing but the spoon.

Look up at the clock on the front of Muppet Vision. That’s Gonzo hanging from the minute hand.

There are two bulletin boards on the left hand wall after you pass through the turnstiles. One is the Muppet Vision 3D World Headquarters Directory and the other is The Rest of the Directory.

If you arrive before the pre-show movie starts, watch for the test pattern as Scooter crosses from one monitor to another. It’s a hidden likeness of Kermit the Frog.

Hanging toward the front left hand side of the preshow area, you’ll see a poster of a Muppet that looks oddly familiar. It is a fitting memorial to the Muppets creator, Jim Henson, Muppetized, and with a movie camera lens around his neck.

Once you enter the theater, you can’t miss the penguins in the orchestra pit; they are obviously not paying attention to the sheet music in front of them. It’s actually the score to “The Rainbow Connection”, written by Kenny Ascher and Paul Williams and sung by Kermit the Frog in the opening number of A Muppet Movie.

The Muppets prefer to use their own brand of projectors, like the projector at the back of the Muppet Vision theater, make especially for them by Yell and Howl. A close look at the projector also reveals two familiar faces. A ball on top of the projector is wearing glasses, making it look a lot like Dr. Bunsen Honeydew, while the whistle’s bulging eyes are close approximation n of his assistant, Beaker.
