This is the second time I've been successful in the year I've been wooting. I happened to be sitting down at my kitchen table and randomly turned on my iPad. I remembered it was a woot-off and sure enough, in a few minutes the BOC showed up. Score!!!!

I'm going to wrap the box and open it Christmas morning if it comes in time. I think that will be fun!!

Have you ever gotten a BOC? What was in it? I've only scored one one other time. It had a nice digital 3D camera (but no one seems to develop the film for it anymore), a pack of Aqua Globes, and a cloth grocery bag that folds up into the shape of, and is printed as, a strawberry. Good times...

I can't remember everything but ours had a broken rubber band gun and a very nice camera case that I use for our DSLR.

I've scored exactly one, in the great April Fool's game debacle last year. It was... I think a camo fleece blanket and a couple other random things, nothing good.

Ha Cornflake, I think my DS was a part of that BOC!

I love reading the posts of the finds in people's BOC - I know, I need a life :rotfl2:

or I'm easily amused!! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

What is this your talking about?

Woot is a "One Day, One Deal" website selling a variety of items, primarily small consumer electronics. Every night at midnight Central Time a new item is put up for sale. There might be a limited number of them so they sell out during the day, or there might be enough to last 24 hours. But, at midnight Central Time the item is taken down and a new item goes up in its place.

I've "wooted" several nice items - a Roomba for my daughter, 3 Shark vacuum cleaners that were refurbished and $75 each, a couple of the Sony Dash Personal Internet Devices/fancy alarm clocks, etc. My great and favorite Panasonic Lumix camera was a refurb from Woot.

Once a month or so, Woot has a special sale called a "Woot Off." Basically, instead of one item per day, they put up a variety of items one at a time and as soon as they sell all of the item, another item takes its place. So they might sell a hundred cameras, then forty tents, 2 computers, 600 sets of earbuds, etc. A woot-off usually lasts 24 to 48 hours.

Some time before the end of the final sales day, which ends at midnight Central Time, there is an item that is literally called a Bag of Crap. It's usally three items randomly selected by the Woot Gods (ok, by some staff member in Texas) and you dont' have any idea what you are getting. It's cheap, though - $3.00 plus five bucks shipping, so you're not in for much if the items are really crappy.

It's become a big game and people compete feverishly to see if they can buy one before the servers crash/the BOCs are sold out. They sell out in seconds. No one knows what they will get. Although it's usally crap, sometimes there is something really worthwhile and that's the best of all!!

This time I was fast enough and I got one. If it comes before Christmas I'll wrap it up and put it under the Christmas tree for a real surprise on Christmas morning!!

I was *so* peeved at that. SO peeved. I'd been dumb the year before, and not thought about going through the whole maze thing and got distracted by a random item.

Did the stock market BOC and lost.

That stuff, no big, just 'd'oh!' same as the general missing the BOC by a minute or the server crashing as you saw it or whatever.

The game though... did exactly what they said, spent an hour and a half doing it, won and nothing. SO ANNOYED. Eventually got one but I've only ever wooted once since then and that was only for a specific reason and I'm not inclined to again.

Don't mess with the BOC, Woot. People will remember.
