Both the children are simply adorable. I know this trip will mean the world to them when they look back on it as they grow older. You are both wonderful moms.

Beautifully said by both of you! I sometimes struggle with my job as my DS's advocate and he isn't even considered special needs. By supporting your kiddos and encouraging them to do all they want to do, regardless of what the "experts" may think is possible, you're creating some extroardinary future grown-ups And goodness knows we need more of those.

Thanks to everyone for their well-wishes! We are so lucky to have such beautiful kiddos!

So the reasons for the trip are clear. And we have a room and tickets and our deposit is down! All we need now is a way to get there and with all of the stuff Goofyluver likes to pack, driving is not an option!

The first decision is where to fly out from. Goofyluver lives out in the
middle of nowhere and I am about an hour and a half away from two major airports. We agree that she will drive here a few days before the big trip. Really it is a trek; a trek across the state of Texas. Five hours of Oprah and Friends on satellite radio…truly that is her idea of heaven. Since heaven awaits her on the drive, she has no problem hanging out with me for a couple extra days.

So, my hunt begins. I am like a wild animal when it comes to saving money.I wait until I have the money in the account and then I begin stalking my prey. Air Tran and Southwest seem to have the deals to beat. And it also appears that flying out of Dallas will always be cheaper than flying out of Oklahoma City. Dallas has the Southwest hub at Dallas-Lovefield and DFW has every other airline under the sun.

While feeding my addiction, to the DIS, I stumble across the Southwest DING! And begin my wait for the summer fares to be released. The rumor mill says that the deals will be HOT (I am perfecting my Paris Hilton). So, the money sits in my account...the hardest thing to handle for an avid shopper. And it sits and it sits.

Then my worst fears are realized! The fares come out and they are not HOT(once again Ms. Hilton).They are cold...frigid...horrid!! Oh, no...I had been entrusted with money saving and I had let some great deals slip through my finger while waiting for this!! This DING, was as dead as the witch. And I figured I should just climb under the house along with her.

I phone the strategizer and freak out! She calms me down and we start a dual search while on the phone. She looks here, I look there and suddenly she spots it!! The deal of the day on American Airlines! So, I book...no more playing around.

OMG, it is for real!! Non-refundable plane tickets seal the deal!! We are going to WDW!!!

Yea…so Tera…the queen hunter of the deal…was placed in charge of procuring the airfare! Now…I won’t just let her take charge of everything (very dangerous)…but this I’m all for! Tera can find you a deal on anything…in fact, ask her anything…and she’ll google it up for you in minutes.

In her DIS addiction, Tera heard about the Southwest Ding! As she is explaining it to me…the conversation went a little like this…

Tera: Today…on the Dis, (many of our conversations start out like this) I heard about the Southwest Ding!
Me: WTH is a ding? Is that like short for diamond ring???
Tera: Don’t be an idiot…I’m huntin’ for a deal…
Me; Okay…just tell me where to send the check…

Now, we literally waited for airfare FOREVER!!! Tera kept hearing that the fares would be released at like 2 seconds past midnight on the 2nd full moon of the month! And, she swore up and down we would be able to get airfare for all of us for like $600 bucks (Fuzzy Disney Math…thanks Tracy…ermmmm…I mean DLMama). Shoot, sign me up! We waited…Tera even called the dadgum airline to harass them and let them know that they were seriously affecting our cheerful Disney budget planning.

Then…it happened…the fares were released, and they were a no go! Tera called me in a panic…that conversation went like this:

Tera: omgthefaresjustcameoutandtheysuck!
Me; I’m sorry…please speak English and take a breath!
Tera: My ding fell through!
Me: Well, dings suck!

In order to get the cheap cheap cheap fares you had to leave at 1:00 in the morning and you had to be over the age of 107…or some mess like that!

So, I joined in the hunt for the deal…something I don’t *do*!!! And, we found it! Not what we were hoping for, but good enough that Tera didn’t feel too let down by her ding.

From now on…ding is short for diamond ring…

I, Goofyluver...am not only addicted to the DIS, but, I'm also addicted to Oprah & Friends Radio! Scary...right!

Tera's house is like 5 hours away. My crazy motha is 3 hours away! Do I mind these treks across the flat desert land? No I don't...and I'll tell you why!

All the crazy stuff is goin' down on Oprah & Friends. Hours and hours of Oprah, Gayle, Nate Burkess (my luver), Dr. Robyn, Bob Greene...I know them all (teehee ).

This is no joke...I was on Oprah & Friends. It's my other claim to fame...besides being the OCD girl on the DIS. I was on the Dr. Robyn show! I luvz her...and I luvz my Oprah & Friends.

So, think of me and Oprah ridin' in my HHR on the way to Tera's house to fly away on the ding that didn't happen plane.

But, Jon is amazing. He is amazingly sweet and amazingly funny. He will never know the extent to which he has affected my life. He has taught me far more than I can ever teach him. I would have 1,000 Jons. (Remind me I said that when he is in his bratty moments)

But, the gifts far outweigh the negatives. Jon has taught me that we must relish the small things in life. Things like taking a trip to Disney…may be just a good time for some, but for us, it’s a life experience. It’s something to bring a smile to our kiddos faces!


I have never listened to the “He can’ts or he won’ts!” If I did…where would he be now? I’m a fierce mommy! I am a strong advocate for my son. I owe him this. Because he has paid me in unconditional love that only he can give! It’s hard…it’s the hardest thing in the world. But, it’s miraculous to watch. Jon brings me more joy than I could ever put into words. I am amazed that I was blessed enough with the honor to be his mother. He amazes me on a daily basis. I am so lucky. He is truly a gift in my life.

This really touched me and brought tears to my eyes. Jon is a cutie.

Okay...let's talk about my secret addiction...Oprah and Friends...

Now, please keep it on the DL (down low)...because you can't let it out that all the freaky bizness is goin' on on XM 156!

Okay...I got a new car about a year ago. And, I decided to treat myself! I bought me one of them fancy shmancy XM radios. I would never plug a product...but if you don't have one...you must get one! You can listen to anything you want...80s, big band music, and...duh duh duh duh...OPRAH WINFREY and all her loons, goons, and balloons! (<----I don't know what that meant)

So, you can listen to Nate Burkess teach you about decorating! (I learned a great sheet trick to cover your walls)

Bob Greene can work you out over the radio! He'll get you in shape dude!

You can listen to Oprah and her BF Gayle talk about nuttin'! (like me and Tera)

Gayle has her own show where she talks about the currentest events and interviews the best celebs...she sings off key to everyone's songs...Oh Gayle!

But, my favorite show...is definitely Dr. Robyn. You can call in and ask her a question and she'll put ya' on the air and answer your question and talk over you the whole time you are tryin' to get her to justify your neurosis! How do I know this? Because I called in and was on DR. ROBYN!!!!!!!

I was driving 5 hours home from Tera's in Feb. listnin' to my Oprah & Friends. Dr. Robyn was on answering people's questions and talkin' over everyone and such. Then, they play this commercial that says, "If you would like to be on the Dr. Robyn show...call 1-800-blahdiblahdi!" So, what do I do? I call like a big fat loser.

I'm not going to tell you who I called about...I'll just say it's a family member who is crazy. I have a lot of those...so saying this person is crazy is not going to narrow it down for anyone who knows me!

So, you get to stay on the phone and listen to a whole bunch of crazies who decided to call Dr. Robyn too. Before it's your turn...some dude gets on the line and tells you the rules! These are the rules:

1. Do not say good morning because they don't always play the tape in the morning.
2. Don't say I love you Robyn
3. Don't say how much you love Oprah
4. Don't say any brand names
5. Don't use last names for fear that people will know you're crazy family

And, then I hear it! "So, Jennifer...you're on with Dr. Robyn!" (I think I peed a little)

So, yea...I sort of get 1/2 my question out before Dr. Robyn starts in on her whole spiel! She sort of kind of answers the 1/2 question that I got to ask before she so rudely interrupted me. And, then...before you can elaborate any further...she says, "Thanks for listening to Dr. Robyn" and you get hung up on!

It was the best experience of my life...

I'm telling you people...listen to Oprah & Friends...all the crazies are on!
