You should be receiving a small spiral bound booklet with all your info together in one place, as well as some luggage stickers to put on your checked bags so they can deliver them to your room. Is that what you received?
It will have your room number in it as well as dining time, flight info, ship contact info etc. That will be all you will probably receive I think, but you'll need to take that with you in addition to passports (or passport cards which will work for getting on and off the ship in Mexico) and your signed completed online registration.
There is internet on the ship but it is very slow and very expensive (it adds up quickly when it is so slow). There are internet cafes in port that are less expensive (according to a crew member last time) but is still slow (she uses it to face time with her family). Cell reception works in port but not necessarily on the ship. Look into what your provider has for international and make sure you keep your phone off when not in use so you don't come home to some shocking bills. They provide a ship telephone number and like any hotel, have phones in each room that you can have messages left on. I'd make sure I was giving out that number to those who should be able to reach you in case of whatever at home. Seriously, by the time you pay for the time it takes to check your email daily, you could get a massage or two for the same money and much less frustration waiting for pages to load! It may be a good week to practice not being as plugged in to the rest of the world!
Other big tip is to think twice about giving kids charging privileges on their room keys. They can get all the food and drinks and snacks (and goodies) they want without it. But, the arcade costs extra and I've heard of kids racking up tidy sum buying tokens (I heard of one kid who went through 100. in just over an hour). Also, my son misplaced his room key toward the last day and borrowed mine. I gave him an amount for the arcade but apparently someone else grabbed my card and bought another 50. worth of tokens (so he said). They can also buy candy and other stuff in the shops with the cards. I kept charging privileges to the adults. My kids ordered room service which didn't cost extra, but tipping was desired which they didn't understand at the time.
Last few helpful (hopefully!) tips... bring a power strip for charging cameras, iPads, phones etc., there is limited outlets in each room other than in the bathrooms. There are hair dryers are in the bathroom but are a little wimpy, so if that's an issue bring your own. There is at least one laundry room on board where you can also buy detergent and fabric sheets. You can use your room key to buy the supplies and the time on the washing machines and clothes dryers (found the dryers needed to be run a few times to really dry the clothing though). There is an iron and ironing board and sink in the laundry room as well. Last time one of the two laundry rooms was out of commission and they can be popular later in the cruise. If you have a room with a verandah, you can put wet stuff out to dry pretty securely (unless it is a windy day) and that helps dry swim suits as well.
Ok, that was a major brain dumping of info. Hope it helps!!

Oh, one last thing... older kids in the Oceaneers Lab/Club can be given privileges to check themselves in and out if you like. The Edge and teen club already has that available for kids. There are two wave phones in each room that can be used to contact each other (I carried one and left the other in the room for my kids to share and leave there if they were looking for me). The wave phones are free (as long as you don't lose them) and there are no roaming charges like your might find with using your own cell phone.
My kids (ages 10 and 12) loved having the independence of doing why they wanted and just having to check in with me at some point during the day and before dinner. The Edge and teen club activities can go late into the night but they are also encouraged to eat (late night swim and pizza etc.).
So I recieved my "package" from Disney today (which I thought would be coming in March) and all it was, was a small broucher with our name, confirmation name and a small packing suggestion list. --- Is that all or will more be coming?
