'Wonder'ful Ship of Fools-We're Crusin' in April(15-22)

I don't know what an OGT is either. I do know that our stateroom is listed on the Disney Cruise Line site though!
We haven't gotten our stuff in the mail yet either!
Six weeks from today!!!!!!!!!

Kathy,
We have an OGT. I contacted my travel Agent a few days ago, and she said we probably won't know until a few weeks before we sail. When we get the package in the mail! I do check the reservation daily. As soon as I have it I will post it!

Can't belive that we are down to 42 days!

It's an oceanview guaranteed. It was a cheaper price, and they put you in a room closer to the time of the cruise. When I asked the travel agent she said normally it is just in the paperwork that Disney sends you right before you set sail.

Ok, sounds great! Just let us know the cabin number when you get it!
Thanks!!!!

With possibly 5 groups (8 cabins?) do we want to have every group cover 2 nights or 3 nights of FE or just hope we get 7 groups and each take one night? I'm asking because some of the FE gifts I've come up with (mostly the adult ones) would be best given out the 1st night and I then I could give out others (kids gifts) on pirate night or the night before. Just wondering how everyone wants to procede:):grouphug:

I think we should do 6 gifts max (not one on the last day, people need to pack up and it's just too rushed and crazy!). The adults don't need things daily for sure (especially not candy daily with all the yummy desserts we'll get!). I think its fun for the kids to find something every day no matter how small or big though. I like the idea of everyone taking a day or two and being done with it, that seems so much easier!
On pirate night at dinner bandannas are handed out, but that would be a good night for glow sticks/ necklaces/ bracelets since the pirate show is outside with fireworks.
Let's see if we get any more participants then figure out logistics from there!
Really looking forward to it!!!
Kathy

Here is a link to some great tips on cruising (especially Disney cruising!) from HartnSoul76! Thanks!

(When they say power bar, they mean power strip for charging multiple items at once!)

Welcome! Would you like to participate in the Fish Extenders program? If so, I'll need names with the kid's ages and the cabin numbers of everyone who would like to participate (we have several adults participating as well!).
If you need info on the program, check out wikipedia... basically it's like Christmas stockings next to the cabin doors!
Looking forward to the cruise!!!!

Hello,

Sorry to have gone quiet - we had FIL & BIL in town for a ski trip (FIL's first time on skis in 10 years:goodvibes). They brought the snow with them (it has been sadly lacking) so a good time was had by all. :thumbsup2

Count us in for the FE - my cabin will participate adults and kids; then the kids from BIL's cabin will participate. We are the OGT rate as well so I don't have cabin numbers yet - I'll let everyone know as soon as we get them. I've seen some posts about people not getting then until they arrive at the port :scared1: Hope that doesn't happen to us :worship: Anyway, the roster for us is:

Cabin ???????
Me - Sophia
DH - Rich
DS1 - James (age 11)
DS2 - David (age 7)

Cabin ????????
DD - Immy (age 5)
DNiece - Ally (age 6)

Sophia

Hi everyone,
now we are at 5 families participating (which seems more fair to do it by family than by cabin, it makes the numbers more even.)
If we could get just one more family signing on to participate in the FE's then each of us could take just one day! Keep your fingers crossed!
If not, then we'll have to figure out a way to make this fair. My thoughts are that most cabins or families have 4 people participating other than UKUSmom, which has 6 participating between the two cabins. So, if we don't get another family joining us for the FE's, maybe UKUSmom should take two days (not sure that seems fair though) or we just do it for five days instead. We could skip the second day in port at Cabo since people disembark early...
Thoughts??

I have enough stuff I think to cover at least two nights if everyone has gone overboard like me:) But, as long as both the parents and the kids get trinkets to enjoy then I think everyone will be happy :)
I won't be doing candy though because I don't think it will stay well in my luggage. I was thinking to bring Popcorn for the CM's, because I read somewhere it was a hard commondity for them to get, but passangers don't have access to a microwave as far as I know.
I haven't figured out my Cabo Stuff Yet. My husband doesn't want us to go off on our own, but I found that it was cheaper to do most of the excursions through other companies (however skittish about this as well) .... My youngest can't do the dolphins (just shy a year) so we can't do that.

Last time my ex and his wife met us in Cabo and had the boys while we were in port. They rented wave runners (or jet skis, not sure which) which was easy to do right off the pier. I had booked a few excursions through my travel agent (which was non-Disney) and they were hard to connect with off the ship, unlike the Disney ones which had big signs the second we got off the tender.
I'm hoping to have a little time for jet skis (whatever) after our dolphin swim the second day in Cabo, my kids loved it!
:cool1:

Ok, that gets us to six nights for Fish Extenders. If anyone wants to do more than one night then it's bonus, they can just do it whenever they want! I doubt the kids will complain!
We can set up a simple schedule once it gets closer!
For those with teens and adults, any suggestions for small gifts? I'm drawing a total blank for dads... other than candy!

:cheer2:

I was assuming we would be giving stuff from each cabin (seems perfectly fair to me) so sign me up for the two days.

Sophia:thumbsup2

Sandi and I can cover better than two nights.
We were planning on something daily for the kids and maybe one for the adults.
I work for a casino in Nevada and have some casino memoribilia for the adults.
I will look for something else to go for the adults.
For the kids we have some homemade and some store-bought trinkets.
If we put small stuff in the FE's we could do something every day. If we go the other way we can put several in on each day.
Also we are trying to be mindful of suitcase space!!!
Thanks all for participating and making this a special trip for all the kids....
Janet:cheer2::grouphug:pirate:

I can't speak for dads... but for my teen, she isn't picky! I am proud to say she is an awesome kid, and is pretty thankful! Her biggest excitement is the endless food! That is all she states on her facebook! (though she is the smallest person ever! Sickening!) She will go with the flow and be thankful! We got a few things that costed more for hers as I don't expect special stuff for her!
I also have found shopping for an infant a bit harder! Most things say ages 3+, and infant stage was so long ago! Tanisha, is Liam going to be 9mths on the cruise or is he 9mths now? Any suggestions there?

I'm excited about my homemade gift, and parents of the younger ones will have to help their child, but I think it will be well worth it!

Also, is anyone else letting their children skip school for this trip? Thankfully I have a straight A little man, and almost a straight A high schooler, so it won't be an issue, but I'm wondering will you be bringing school work? What routine do you have set in your brain about what will happen on the cruise? Though we all know we probably won't stick to it... Someone at work told me she couldn't believe I was making my kids take a book on the boat!

Can't wait! We are down to the 39 day! Woohoo 30's!!! Lets go 20's!! :yay:

My kids both have that week off from school, but we will still be bringing reading materials (if I can possibly get them any down time!). I know I'm bringing several books (on the iPad)!
How about rubber ducks for infants?
:dogdance:

Ok, since several of you have enough for more than one night, then we can double up a few nights (especially when we are at sea).
Here is the list so far and added is the schedule for what nights everyone has. Let me know if there are any concerns or issues with it, I am flexible!!! I went heavier on days we are at sea and didn't bother with the last morning (it will be too crazy and people will have been packed up!).
Just another thought after hearing what Janet said about the casino items for the dads, if we can also find something that is specific to where you're from that isn't too costly, that might be fun too! But, don't kill yourself trying to make it happen! Postcards from local places, small inexpensive things from local teams, colleges, entertainment places or attractions... but only if you have the time and it isn't too costly! And, of course, all things Disney related are fun!

Getting closer!!!!! I think we should have the cut off for anyone else joining Fish Extenders by March 20th, it's less than a month and isn't last minute!

:thanks:

Liam will be turning 9 months the day we get back from the cruise. He is an easy going baby, and a ducky or some type of noise maker will be fine.

We will be taking Sean out of school for a week.:teacher: We told his teacher today. The school is not happy with it, but he is giving him a diary to write down things he did and saw each day.

38 days till we set sail!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am super excited and we can take Monday night no problem!!!

our cabin number is 2608!

I have a question.. I hear about the dining rotation all the time.. if there a rotation that you prefer over another? I was looking at the menus and think I would like to do Tritons 3x. Is there a way to request this?

Not sure you can, but you'll get there at least twice and can also go there for lunch as often as you like! You can contact the Disney Cruise people to ask, wouldn't hurt to try!!
