Wonderful Panama Canal Sept 2014

Greetings to all the fellow Texans going on this cruise! Greetings to all of the group! Question? Who has their pirate costumes ready? Is that even going to be done on this cruise?

We have our pirate costumes ready!! It will be fun pirate:

Hi! I am a golden ager traveling with my adult daughter on this East Bound Panama repositioning cruise. We were on the Westbound inaugural on the Magic for Disneyland's 50th. We have a GTY cabin and probably will not know its # until the last minute and picked second seating. I do not use facebook and look to the disboards for info. Nancy & I are veteran cruisers. Joe & Nancy

:welcome: :welcome: Joe and Nancy, this is going to be a great cruise!!

Just curious...

Any cribbage players and/or Mexican Train Domino players?

Dennis

We bought a cribbage board, but have not figured out how to play it yet. Love to play Mexican Train, or really any game :yay::yay: I am thinking of making a dice game into a Disney dice game for the FE's. :)

It won't let me PM you because I don't have 10 posts. I'm a seasonal cast member at tower of terror at Disneyworld. Just booked the cruise ysterday. Would love to join the FBk group if possible. My email is rwaters @ gmail
You are added - sorry for the delay - we were at WDW and I don't do tech while on vaca!

:confused3
Cayla, just want you to know that I love my CC backpack  and can't wait to use it on excursions.

Did I see something about a princess night? Do I need to pick up a cheap tiara to wear?

The closer our departure gets the more nervous I become. I haven't been on an airplane since 1995 and it made me anxious then so the idea of flying back to California is kinda freakin me out a little. I have to have a "wellness" exam for work the end of July or 1st of August so I may just ask Dr Scales for a little somin somin for the flights and maybe a scopolamine patch as well .

Here's hoping that everyone has a safe and happy Memorial Day Weekend!!!
You are welcome - put it to good use!! Be careful with the patch - a side effect is temporary blindness that resolves once the medicine is out of your system. If you are worried about seasickness - consider these instead:

http://www.biobands.com/

They really do work!!! But the site says you need one...they work best when you have one on each wrist!

I had read somewhere you can ship packages ahead to your stateroom, does anyone have any info on this or am I mistaken. Thanks
I know you can to Canaveral - not so sure about the other ports. You could call DCL and ask, but I would call and ask numerous times since folks tend to get different info each time they call.

I got a bunch of add requests for the FB page - the following folks have been added - some are having trouble finding the invite or getting the link to connect - here is who I have added:

RDWaters76 (Richard W)
Lesa
Chisley - please send your email address!
Marie A
Sharon K

Did I miss anyone? Please PM me - if you are unable to PM, then post your email address here - once you are added, delete it from here.

Please put which cruise you are sailing on in the subject line, I am the admin for 2 cruises and it gets confusing, and will slow down the "add"

Thanks

Cayla

I've already got a suitcase out in a guest room where things specific just for the cruise are getting put so that I won't forget them!

We do the same thing Maria. One cruise we walked off and forgot a small bag that had most of our "essentials", you know toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, things like that.:scared1: Luckly, we had an over night stay at one of the Disney Resorts at WDW before the cruise. We were able to get everything we needed before the cruise. Won't be doing THAT again!!!:sad2::sad2:

Well everyone, tonight is the night, at 12 midnight, or first thing Friday morning, we who are "GOLD" can do our on-line check-in and more importantly book our excursions and Palo dinners. We have our excursions all picked out. I just have to enter them in and get them booked. We are going to go to Palo for my birthday on the cruise. I will be turning.................................................:confused3(you didn't really think I was going to tell you..............did you???:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:) But, my birthday is one of our "at sea" days!!! :cool1::cool1::banana::banana::dance3::cheer2: Love those "at sea" days!!!:jumping1:

I'm still trying to get the family to decide what they want to do on excursions and if the kids want to do something that we don't etc....ugh. We can book on the 14th too. Hopefully there's room left on some of the excursions. Would love to know what time the excursions are departing or if there's choices of different times.:beach: :hourglass

My friend Em's birthday happens I think on Cozumel day. So if y'all want to be obnoxious towards her.... Oh! And we're bringing Cupcake wine for her birthday.... I want people to be obnoxious to her, loud and like overly perky.

pixiedust: We get to book tonight or in the morning too pixiedust: So excited!! You don't have to tell your age, I certainly will never tell mine ;)

You can have all my excursions. I do not plan to book any. I have been to Cozumel several times. Nothing I want to do there. I have been to Puerto Vallarta before, both land and sea vacations, so nothing new for me there. Cabo is not really accessible for me with my knees, and not really interested anyway. The only place may do something is Cartagena. I did not do anything the last time I was there. Too nervous. I will not book anything until I discuss with shore excursion staff aboard.

I love having the ship to myself.

Hi everyone!

I just booked my parents on this cruise and I hope they will enjoy 14 days together with time to relax:goodvibes They're meeting my kids, DH and I in WDW for F&W. Woohoo!

What's everyone booking for the excursions? We're Gold so their window opened up tonight.

Wondering if people have any suggestions. They are mellow retirees and this will be their 7th DCL cruise.

Cozumel -- they did the Twister boat and Island thing last time they were on the Fantasy and LOVED the speedboat ride. So just FYI for anyone on the fence. They said it was really fun.

Does anyone have suggestions for Cartagena and Puerto Vallarta? TIA!

Edited to Add: I just saw the Photowalk thing and he signed up for it! Very excited! I'm their official spokesperson b/c they don't DIS but they love the DIS community (if that makes any sense). They usually participate in FEs with my kids but never sign up for themselves.

My group is talking about doing the funny bus excursion in Cartegena. I forget what it is called, but for some reason that one really appeals to me. That or the other bus tour. My grandpa said not to do Cartegena without someone/a guide/a group. You can join our group for the excursion there. Be warned my plan is I want to try some really weird/crazy/adventurous food while I'm there. Like last cruise I had oxtail stew and mofongo.

I love cupcake moscato! My fav! Thinking about bringing it on board.

Em and I every birthday get each other a bottle of Cupcake wine. She gets me a white wine, I get her a red. We've done this for years. And then we sit and drink the bottle together. And since my gut exploded this tradition is my one alcoholic beverage every couple months.

:welcome: to your parents :welcome: We are kind of retirees as well. My husband Brad is retired from the military and I work from home, or anywhere I happen to be :surfweb: We are doing a private tour in Cartagena that Maria from DIS put together :goodvibes In Puerto Vallarta we are doing the Historic Town and Tequila Making, dh's choice there :confused3

We are meeting our youngest son in WDW for 10 days. We are very excited since he lives in Colorado Springs now!! We can't wait for all of it party:

Thanks for the welcome! My parents owned a crafts supply store for years and they are now retired. Dad works occasionally part-time in the admin department of a non-profit school.

Your excursions sound so fun!

10 days in WDW sounds great! We're not sure how long we're staying yet, but we do have a full week booked at AKV.

I don't remember much about Colorado Springs, but my family used to live in Fort Collins, CO. It was funny b/c on a prior DCL Alaskan cruise I ran into a family with a little girl who now lives in my old neighborhood. Small world!

Anyway, have a nice cruise!

Just completed our online check-in and booked all our excursions and the Palo Dinner on my birthday. :cool1::yay::banana::yay::yay::yay:
