:lmao: I know the feeling actually. I just cut an entire day out of March. I've apparently decided we didn't need a 31st. AND I ARGUED THE POINT!
It's been a looooooooong winter!:faint:

I don't know if ya'll have seen the new Maleficent Trailer or not, but it looks like it is going to be a good movie. My daughter is a big Disney villain's fan and she can't wait for this movie to come out. Below is a link to the trailer. Check it out and enjoy!!

You know who is apparently in the new "Maleficent" movie? Thirteen... (and that is a way nerdy reference. Peter Capaldi-sp?- the new Doctor.) also Sharlto Copley, who I find immensely watchable.

Jet Blue finally opened their schedule for September so our flights to Long Beach are booked for September 9th :cheer2:. We hope to be able to book the Grand Californian Villas, but if not we will stay at the Hilton. We are really looking forward to visiting Disneyland :cool1:. Maybe we can meet up with some of you that are also planning to go. We are almost at the 7 month mark :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: Can't wait for this awesome cruise and meeting all of you great people.

Congrats!!! :cool1: getting the air booked is a big check-off item! Pixies for the Grand Californian Villas! We've stayed at the GC, but not in the villas, the last time we were there they were building them.

my daughter Courtney is a HUGE Dr. Who fan...she's so excited. She loves to talk about Dr. Who, so if anyone wants to get together and talk...count her in!

I just saw a post on FB that showed someone's Mickey Soft Pretzel and they said it was on their Disney Fantasy cruise.....please tell me there are soft pretzels on the Wonder! I absolutely LOVE soft pretzels. Does anyone know if they will be having them on our cruise?????

Is she coming on the trip? My mom and I are big "Doctor Who" fans (thank you Netflix!) to the point where my sister even found TED/compression stockings/socks for me to wear to work with "Doctor Who." So yes, I'm that old lady nurse with compression stockings...I am, perplexed (is that the right word?) with the new Doctor. I think Matt Smith is hot and very good looking. Peter Capaldi is thin and looks like my dad (and with his Scottish accent he sounds like my great grandfather...). Confusing that they're the same character.
:rotfl:

So Leannda, my travel friend, paid off her portion. Yay! We talked to our boss on Friday about the three of us going and one of my coworkers (who isn't going on this cruise) mentioned to my boss in passing that per our contract if we all have the PTO she can't deny us the time off (and then brought up when she let all the charge RNs have a week off. That was an awesome week...). So it looks like we are all going. I am waiting for my tax refund to buy my plane ticket. JetBlue is offering $79 to fly into Long Beach, which means I'd be able to drive into LA on the way to Cucamonga, and have lunch/dinner with my brother, sister in law, uncle, and cousin. Yay!

I want to ask ya'll a few questions about flying. As you read, you will see that DW and I haven't flown much here lately. (Like maybe over 20 years!!!) Shoot, everywhere we wanted to go, WDW - within driving distance, Cruising - Port Canaveral or Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale - within driving distance. I could go on, but you see what I mean. So now for this cruise, and for our before cruise trip to Disneyland, we need to fly out to Sunny California. My questions to all my frequent flyer cruise mates are as follows:

1) Where do you pack any liquids you are taking along?:confused3 I know we will have shampoo at Disneyland and on the cruise, but DW wants to take a can of hair spray. (I may need a can of moose to spike up my hair...........you never know, the situation my come up where I need moose!?!? A windy day at sea to hold my hair in place, or looking my best at the clubs, any and all of these are excellent examples!!)

2) What do you do at the airport check in?:confused3 I mean do you go thru the body scanner, or do you prefer the pat down. (Personally, I am not sure I want some strangers hands all over my body!!! I'm ticklish!!!)

I'm sure I will have more questions as we go along here. These were the first ones that popped in my head. Thanks everyone. :thumbsup2

I would wait and buy what you need in CA. There's got to be drug stores or convenience stores nearby. Or pack all your liquids in ziplock bags and put in your checked luggage. You're only allowed a small amount of liquids total per carry on. I had just bought a new tube of hair gel once and had it in my carry on and had to throw it away at check-in (and not at original airport, it was at change over airport mid-trip)
Depending on security at airport...those of us of a certain age just have to go through the metal detector according to a friend of mine who just flew to FL.

!

Yes...Courtney (20) is coming with us on the cruise. She'd love to meet up and chat all about all the Dr. Whos. she is a DW fanatic...along with a Phantom, Les Miz, Wicked or any other musical fanatic...and she does a great British and Irish accent!

I always pack our liquids in a ziplock bag in our checked luggage. I have never had a problem.
As far as the airport check in I usually do the body scanner but have had the pat down which is no big deal. I am sure you would do fine.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! My daughter is also a fan of villain's. She has a shirt that says "You say villain like its a bad thing".....can't wait to see this film. Jolie looks amazing at Maleficient!! I read in some magazine that she literally scared children at some promo shoot or something like that.

I'm so over winter. At the rate we are going my senior is going to graduate from high school the weekend before she starts college. We've gone from getting out of school before Memorial Day to well into June :scared1:. I'm sure ready for a tropical, relaxing vacation. :cheer2:

Oh David - the rules have changed a lot since 9-11...

liquids - all should be in packed luggage - as others suggested ziploc bag everything. Do you remember those gorilla commercials for luggage? well, it is true! They manhandle and bounce everything!!

Hairspray will be fine in checked luggage. Make sure your bag is under 50 pounds - the overweight costs are outragous!

Scan is preferred to touch in my opinion...if you are under 70 you will have to take your shoes off, be sure to wear socks - those mats are nasty gross! Don't wear any sweaters or sweatjackets in the line, you have to take them and belts off as well. ALso - any metal in your body? Get a card from your doctor, otherwise it will slow you down. Have everything out of your pockets before you get in line...nothing more annoying than someone trying to do all of this when they get to the scanner!

Are you flying from MCO? If so, they are pretty fast, but be ready for wait. If standing is a problem, try to get a medical exception and use a wheelchair from the airport.

Whew...if I think of anything else I will post it.
