Wonder Works

We did the Wonderworks Outta Control Magic Dinner Show and then wonderworks afterwards on a combo ticket. I thought it was very similar to a Ripley's Believe or Not type museum but more hand's on. IMO, I wouldn't set time aside just to go here---BUT if you have an off day and you're looking to kill time or something then it's not bad.

Last time I went to Wonderworks was about a year ago. I've been there before and had really liked it. This time I somehow found it to be a little run down. Some things weren't working like the Virtual Roller Coasters. I don't know this is m/o but there are better places to go in Orlando than this place.

From the outside it looks like so much fun, but it kind of dissapointed me a bit the last time around. :confused3

The attraction was pretty good and quite different from other attractions at WDW. For instance they had a design and ride your own coaster (simulator - ok I know DisneyQuest has one too); an earthquake simulator; electrical generator that made you hair stand on end - and other fun things with a scientific slant. My kids loved it. :cool1:
Better still was the magic show at Wonderworks. It was a riot - especially as I got pulled out of the audience as the fall guy. My wife and kids were rolling about. For reasons I won't go into here, we had had a pretty crummy time up till then - the magic show was the turning point of the holiday. :cloud9:

We did Wonder Works on Friday. I felt like it was a combination of FunStation and the (often times not working) hands-on things that we can find at our local science museum. If you go, make sure to get the $1.50/off coupon from the various Orlando attraction guides and also take plenty of sanitation wipes - my boys and I are sick with a cold while my DH is not - he's the only one of us who didn't go, so I'm attributing it to something we likely picked up at Wonder Works (anywhere you have a lot of traffic and the activities are hands-on, you'll want to be sure to wash your hands well anyway).

I was a bit disappointed in what we found inside because the outside looks so fun, and so does the website and the ads. Perhaps if I hadn't spent $15/kid plus $20 for me (ok, minus the discount, it was still $48). I thought it was a bit over-priced for what we got.

I would recommend going early (they open at 9 a.m.) as it got busier with summer camps ... we got there around 11 a.m. but when we went by on Wednesday at 9:30, there wasn't anyone there yet.

Hope this helps.
