Wonder, Waves and Wishes. 18th October 2009. Remembering the waves!

Are we doing a meet while onboard at some point? or just the FE exchange?

(Love the graphic.....even the B&W- it's different from all of the others I've seen!)

VERY COOL! I love it too!!!

Did anyone add my sister to the FE exchange? I mentioned it briefly, should I send a PM to someone with her family's info? Don't want to get passed the deadline.

I'm up for a meet also - we'll be on the boat EARLY. Well, that's the plan anyway...so, pre-cruise meet?

PM matthewsmom1 and see if she has them on the list. If not, she can add them.

We plan on being there fairly early too. We were there 10:30ish last time and got on in group 3. Just throw me the high sign in the waiting area and we can say hi!:lmao:

Last cruise I went on we met up right before the sail off party, I would say 2 hours before. We spent about 1 hr mingling our kids got a chance to play then we ran into each other a bunch around the boat. I hope our group is a little more interactive than the last group. I only met a couple of the people and everyone else kept to their own groups.

Here's current 'count' for the FE. Remember, there's still time for people to add to the FE (September 1st is the due date). But for those wanting rough numbers:

Angela & Matthew (10)
Brenda & Haley (11)
David, Judith, Meghan (12), Holly (10), Cerys (7)
Jan, John, Travis (11), Charlotte (9)
Heather, Brian, Emily (7), Jason (5)
William, Amber, Kyle (9), Kobi (6)
Dominic, Katherine, Isaac (12), Eloise (9)
Travis, Jody, Zach (11)
Arlena
Mike & Carol
Heather
Rick & Lori
Chrissy, Devon, Allison (6), Zoe (6)

I'm definitely up for a meeting at the sail-away party. That sounds like alot of fun! :)

We are staying with friends the night before and then going to church with them. We probably won't make it to the boat until around 1:00 p.m. What time does the party usually take place? What time does everyone have to be off the ship on Thursday? I hate to even think about that day just yet.

Sail away is at 4 I think. We like to get on the boat, check out the room, let teh kids swim and get something to eat. I think last time we met our group around 3 I think.

Has anyone been to the DCL site since they updated it the other day? I found a couple new excursions listed and now you can prepurchase onboard credit and drink packages.:thumbsup2 THere's some new gifts and stuff there too.

It even gave me my Castaway Club number!

Do they serve any food on the ship like around 1 or 2? I'm wondering if it's going to take us forever to actually get on the boat if we wait until afternoon.

I believe they actually serve lunch until after 2 or so, and then they get ready for dinner...but that there are places you can still pick up food after that. It's my understanding though that EVERYTHING stops for the mandatory boat drill.

Well, we applied for passports - and YEAH - it's not easy leaving your birth certificate is it? That was just uncomfortable.

I'm glad it wasn't just me! :rotfl: I know I'm strange, but.........

it'll be ok. (at least that's what I keep telling myself!)

When you get there, if you get there too early you just hang around in port. You get a card with a number on it and they call your number to get on board. Your room might be ready it might not. They kinda head you to a dining area. That way you can eat. The dining parts up by the pool are open and there were a couple buffets open. The kids headed straight for the pool and we grabbed some hot dogs up there. Then our room was ready we headed down there checked it out. It was life jacket drill time, we put those on did the drill which takes roughly 30 minutes. As long as you have a good group and people show up. (if people mess around and think it is a joke it takes longer). After that we met our Dis Boards people, mingled, got our list of tag people and headed to the sail away party.

I highly approve of the new and improved DCL site. love it. Is anyone else super excited for the cruise.

We're getting excited now. We're staying at Kidani Village at AKL for Friday and Saturday night, meeting up with some other DISers. I got ADRs at Boma and Jiko since I've always wanted to do them and never seem to get out that way. We were going to do Party for the Senses but decided to book the Greycliff excursion in Nassau instead. I just read about Greycliff last week in Wine Spectator- they have one of the top 100 wine cellars in the world!- sure beats staying on the ship which is what we originally planned. Then back to Saratoga Springs and Food and Wine Fest for the weekend.

Now, if my waitlist for Boardwalk or Beach Club came through......I'd be in bliss!:rolleyes1

:rotfl2:

Okay, so if we get there around 2 then we can still get something to eat. I don't know if DD will be able to wait until then to eat, so we may have to get her a snack on the way. I'm all for meeting up with everyone between the drill and the party. I'm almost finished with the FE gifts too, or at least for the ones who are participating thus far.

We arrive friday too, staying at Baylake... Depending on when we get there we might do some mini golf. Saturday we are doing Animal Kingdom, Dinner at California Grill.

So excited!!!

:cheer2:Very excited now Cruise all payed and starting to plan.
Has anyone done the glass bottom boat tour in Nassua? and is anyone else getting the disney cruise line coach? Hope we get down before 12pm
We also would be up for a meet before sail away.

We are on this cruise (me, DH, my mom, DD (8) and DS (3). My MIL is also on this cruise with my SIL and my niece. They are Castaway Club members because they have sailed before. We are not. Our reservations are linked.

MIL can book at 90 days and I can book at 75. She has no desire to go to Palo. I logged into her reservation (she gave me the info, I am not a hacker or anything!). I thought about booking Palo for me and DH under her reservation, but it will only do it if we select MIL or SIL to eat with us. So, my question is this:

Can I book a reservation for three of us and then change it to just two when we get there? Or, alternatively, can I make a reservation for MIL and DH and then just go in MIL's place to dinner?
