Wonder to the Land of the Midnight Sun~~~August 20th 2012~~~

I got the list. Got the kid gifts done and labeled. My question is how many on the list are from somewhere in Washington? No sense in doing WA gifts for those already familiar with "Tacoma Turds" and applets and cotlets.

TIA

So, about the FE stuff. Got the email--thanks for doing the Google doc, Amy. I can post a list on my door, but I don't think it should be the full spreadsheet because there is a lot of personal info on there. Maybe just screennames and cabin numbers? Should I clip it to the back of my Fish Extender rather than posting it on my door? Also, I'm thinking just one copy of the list and people are responsible for filling in their cabin number and copying down changes on their own paper.

Also, it would be good if everyone could update the list ASAP once they are onboard (and I have the list out)--preferably by Tuesday at noon at the latest--so that people have the freedom to deliver FE gifts whenever works for their schedule.

Just didn't want these questions/thoughts of mine to get left behind on the previous page. Does anyone have any thoughts or input?

I just reposted and updated the list of current cruisers and FE participants. It has been a couple of weeks since I posted it. Hopefully this helps you in your planning. :)

Hi! I have just joined Disboards (LOVING it so far! :disrocks:) so I have not had a chance to communicate with my fellow cruisers. I will be cruising along with you. This will be my 13th cruise with Disney so looking forward to more of the excellent service! I can't believe it's only 16 days away! Talk to you through the screen.

Will we be doing a meet?

That is the ideal way to do things--especially for those doing the FE. That way cabin changes can be announced there and someone who is there can post the list on their cabin door--then anyone who isn't at the meet can stop by that person's cabin and update/check the list. I can't commit to being at the meet, so I don't want to organize one.

You should take the lead and organize one!

Welcome! You are an experienced Disney cruiser--a lot of us are new to DCL...any tips/tricks you can give us?

I will be leaving tomorrow on the Magic from NYC to Canada and wont chec in until Aug 11. My opinion on the meet is to skip it There are so many new cruisers who will be exploring the ship etc that a meet up at 3 will seem overwhelming. Ive sailed over 20 times with DCL and hate to leave the pool on that first afternoon. I think that anybody who changes rooms should update their room on the posted chart behind the FE as suggested. Again this is just an opinion and we can plan based on majority. Looking forward to our trip ut will have a busy week after the Magic cruise as ill have to pack for a few days in Seattle , cruise, Disneyland , and Las Vegas ! What was I thinking???

Have a fabulous cruise! Two cruises and a trip to DL in one month! Ahhh, sounds blissful to me! :cool2:

And yes, I know there is no way my family and I will want to abandon our exploration of the pool/ship in order to go to a meet, so I don't want to commit to anything.

I agree - I don't think we'll need a meet but I do hope I get a chance to cross paths with you all at some point!

I will third the motion of not meeting up, but hope the paths cross at some point.

Reisdawg... We are from Washington. My son would think the Tacoma turds are funny.

I do agree that it would be to hard to commit to a meet up. Everyone in my family is super excited for our first cruise.

I would bet if you are from here you have eaten Tacoma turds in the form of almond roca. Funny story told by a prof in college. She went to school with a Haley as in brown and Haley. A few friends went to visit the Haley's house w/o knowing the connection. Big bowl of almond roca on table and visitor announced Tacoma turds. Haley family thought it was funny.

Hello all, My family will be joining you on this cruise. We are all very excited but I just started researching and found this site. My MIL planned the trip for us so I am just starting my research. I am so bummed too because the FE thing sounds so fun. I will be w/ my 3 kiddos ( 8yo boy, 5yo girl, 18mo. girl) and hubby. There will also be my MIL, 2 SIL, 1 BIL and my niece who is 6. We live in Socal close to DL and frequently visit but have never cruised before.:cool1:

Welcome, Caewings! How fun that you will have family on the cruise with you. I'm sure our children will see each other in the club/lab as I have an 8 year old girl and a 6 year old boy.

Hard to believe our cruise is getting SO close! My kiddos are so excited!

Hi all
Our family from northern Canada will also be on the cruise and we've done a number of Disney cruises before. There will be three generations this time (15 of us with the youngest a teenager). We'll be easy to spot because we dress up for things like formal night and pirate night, we like playing the family games and, if there is a deck party with dancing, we're there. We always have an amazing time on the Disney cruises and are really looking forward to this one. (Insert happy cruise dance here)

OH! Too funny...that's a great story! I have to say Tacoma Turds are yummy!!

My FE extender did not come yet...I'm crossing my fingers it will come soon.

Our FE extender isn't here yet either, but I gave her a deadline of August 10th, so I'm hoping it comes this week. I'm not worrying yet!
