Wonder to the Land of the Midnight Sun~~~August 20th 2012~~~

I filled out the google doc for the FE spreadsheet. I was waiting hoping we'd receive our room number. We have not.

Will there be directions how to find others if rooms are changed on the day of the cruise?
:cool1: We leave in 22 days!! :cheer2:

This is why there usually is a meet-up on embarkation day and then someone who isn't expecting to upgrade their room usually posts the list (with changes) on their door as well. Or at least that is how I understand it to work. I've never cruised though, so I might be missing a step.

Maybe someone who has done this before can speak up.

I'm sure you've all thought of this already, but don't forget about your local library. My kiddos (ages 6 and 8) have been having so much fun this summer reading books about Alaska. They've gone through all the books our local library system has on Alaska and keep quoting info at me. They are thrilled with the stops our cruise is making...but also disappointed with some of the stops we aren't making. They've read folk tales, too. They're just having a great time doing research!

They'd never seen the "Brother Bear" movie by Disney, so we checked out the picture book first (my six year old generally dislikes ALL movies) and then checked out the movie. It ended up being a HUGE hit with both of them. The characters (bears) are on board the ship and I wanted my kiddos to know them and I wasn't sure my son would sit through the movie even though I'm pretty sure it is shown on board. Now I think he'll want to go see it again.

Anyhow, just wanted to remind everyone about the great resource of the public library--especially for children!

I just called and asked about movies for the week of our cruise. Here is what DCL told me:

Cars 2 in 2D and 3D
The Help
The Muppets
People Like Us
The Odd Life of Timothy Green
War Horse
John Carter in 2D and 3D
The Avengers
Brave
Chimpanzee Disney Nature

I'm excited because I haven't seen ANY of these movies--I never get to go to the movies!

So looking forward to Brave! I hope to check out the Muppets and Avengers as well (even though I've already seen them) but there's so much to do on ship!

We just saw Brave. It was delightful. You'll enjoy it. My son wants to see Avengers so we'll probably check that one out.

We did pre-cruise haircuts today for the children and myself. My husband is in England (staying at the same hotel as USA Gymnastics and USA Track!) for business so he'll be doing his later. Lots of details to get done before we cruise!

Last day to sign up for the FE exchange!

Hair cuts. I should get that on my list. It will have to be next week.... Husband and son are at Boy Scout camp this week.

Aparrent,
Could you please email the final FE list sometime today. We are leaving Saturday for a Canada cruise on the Wonder and i have to finish this before we go. Thanks again for putting this all together!

I can't wait for our trip. I am 79% done with our Fish Extender surpises. My kids both want them too. They might have to wait until we come home...

79%? LOL! I'm making good headway on ours--but I need to get the packaging materials. I don't think I have enough supplies for those here at the house.

I also want to do magnets for our door and I've picked out all the magnets and have them downloaded to my computer, but I keep waffling on how to print them. It seems like 50% of people say that printing on magnetic paper is the way to go and 50% of people say that you should print, laminate and stick on magnets. *sigh* I just don't want to be on the cruise and have all our door magnets fall off because our door has been repainted ten times.

Did all the FE people get the list i emailed tonight? If you didn't get it, let me know!

well im already packed and ready to go with 19 days till we cruise. hurry up and get august 20th

I got the FE email. It was on my iPhone o to small to read. I'll print it tomorrow from my laptop. Thank you for putting the google document together for us.
I meant 75% complete. Not sure how it turned into 79%.....

Arrr, matey! pirate: I made our Pirate Night shirts tonight! pirate: We're not going all out...originally I had some big plans, but then reality set in and I scaled my plans back. Now we're down to matching Mickey pirate shirts. I also ordered the kiddos some pirate hats (and I know Disney gives us all bandanas). Plus I dug eye patches out of the dress-up box--but I doubt my little boy will agree to wear his. Hopefully we'll get some cute pics though! pirate:

So, about the FE stuff. Got the email--thanks for doing the Google doc, Amy. I can post a list on my door, but I don't think it should be the full spreadsheet because there is a lot of personal info on there. Maybe just screennames and cabin numbers? Should I clip it to the back of my Fish Extender rather than posting it on my door? Also, I'm thinking just one copy of the list and people are responsible for filling in their cabin number and copying down changes on their own paper.

Also, it would be good if everyone could update the list ASAP once they are onboard (and I have the list out)--preferably by Tuesday at noon at the latest--so that people have the freedom to deliver FE gifts whenever works for their schedule.
