Wonder - January 21, 2011 The Cruise To Nowhere In Particular..

Add me to the workers list. Full day today. We'll be flying down tomorrow. Its less than 24 hours now!!! People keep asking me where I'm going and I just say 'no where'. LOL. They don't understand why I'm so excited to go no where.

Im so excited for tomorrow. I just saw the clip of the Dream christening and it made me more excited. I just need to get through this last day of work We havent packed yet, but that will be done tonight. Im already taking my first Bonine in preparation. Its too hilarious that Im happy to take a motion sickness pill. See you all tomorrow!

I'm here are work too. I don't know what is with these people, actually expecting me to be able to concentrate on work today, LOL.

My kids have it worse, they both have to go to school for a while in the morning (just to get credit for the day). At least I'm done with work at 5:00 today

Just to let people know, I did not have time to make a FE or collect FE gifts, we have had a family member sick and a bunch of "life happens" moments all collided simultaneously. Well, um, -- I don't have one. Heh. Y'see, I was going to do this spectacular 20K Leagues one (I have model-makers who do hyperaccurate Nautilus designs on board to help) but there was a death in one of their families, an illness in my partner's, etc etc etc... So I was thinking -- do the fish "clip"? I was going to do a real 'ghetto FE" also known as a large manila envelope or two, labeled "Dispatches for Star of Vulcania" or some such. And I have nothing to hand out (and no time to get any), so I'd feel like a total jerk, I really love the idea and this is my first Disney cruise (and my mom's first ever).

You guys are all so very nice, I'm definitely going to seek people out and introduce myself!

I'm off work and at home chowing down on some lunch. Clothes are laid out and will go in the bag when I'm done and sister picks me up sometime after 3.

Just had a person I work with in LA say he'd meet us on the Queen Mary for drinks..,YEAH....someone with an expense account!

So we are in 7131, it is me and my DM (Mom mid 70's 'of a certain age') and myself (50). No kids. I am 'trying out' my mom on a cruise to see if she likes it, she's always wanted to go on one but has mobility issues now so wants to see if she can handle it. If so, off to Alaska sometime in the next year! I love cruising and am a part-time cruise agent (very low-key!) -- I've never been on a Disney cruise, so I figure this is 'running the gauntlet' -- if she can handle this, she can handle anything!

Question, I probably know the answer to this already, but is there any PRAYER of getting into Palo if one gets aboard early enough? I'm sure all you good people have it locked up, and rightly so, particularly on one this short, but do they hold back any slots for desperate people at boarding?

Mary....the bag sounds perfect! I made extra and just added you and your mom to my list

Not sure about Palo....but what we did one time was speak to the Palo manager and asked him to call us if there were any cancellations --- like a waiting list. And we got in!

Hey, I'm bringing my mom as well who is in her mid 70's as well and I just turned 51!!! And I am doing the same for my mom. My mom has custody of my 16-year-old niece, so she will be coming, along with my DH.

I don't know about Palo. I am going to try to change ours to the second night, but I don't know if I will be able to. The only thing you can do is try.

I agree. Any kind of bag will work. Some are gorgeous works of art and others are just plain bags....no worries, its all for fun!

Today was stinkin' gorgeous weather. High 70's, with a little wind, but nothing bad. Hoping for it to continue thru the whole weekend, even though they say we're cooling off over the weekend

Can't believe it's tomorrow!!! I'm off work tomorrow, so it's just throwing the bags in the trunk of my car, then running over to pick up my friend's son at school and drive down to San Pedro for "lunch". Can't wait until his son sees the ship!! What a surprise. This should be fun!
