Wonder - January 21, 2011 The Cruise To Nowhere In Particular..

Last time my teen was on a Disney cruise he was still in the kids club. Fortunately he is very into academics (and video games on the weekend) so I only have to worry about him staying up til all hours if he finds other kids his age who like the same thing. He's bringing a book to read in case he doesn't find anyone with like interests. I dont know how to tell him this but he isn't coming back to the cabin for the whole day just to read. He can do that at home!

My younger kids cannot stop talking about how great it is that they can be together in the same club this year. Last time they had to start off in different places because of their age. Even though Disney is very accommodating about trying to keep kids together who want to be.

Howdy all!!

I guess it's time to get out the suitcases.
Tomorrow is my birthday so I don't want to spend the whole day packing.
But I'm really excited!!!
My 10 year old cannot stop talkign about the kids club and how excited HE is to spend the day there.
Anyone have teenagers? I have 15 year old who is really looking forward to going but he has to show up at the teen club by himself so I think hes a bit nervous.

I have a 15 year old as well. If this trip is like any other, he will hightail it to the club as soon as we make it up to Deck 9. Except that I don't think they'll be open quite that early.

My son (almost 12) will be disappearing into the Edge whenever his arcade card runs out :)

So even though I'm 99% certain, do you think it's worth it to spend $100 ea on a one day parkhopper for Sunday? DCA is open till 10 and DL till 11 and I estimate we'd hit the park between 11 and noon after getting off the ship and back to Anaheim and checked into the HoJo. At first we were going to do one day one park and go to DL but then I started thinking about all the things we love to do at DCA (Screamin, Soarin, Toy Story, Aladdin, Monsters and the food is slightly better there).... soooo... convince me to spring for the PHPs!

Pretty cool, but I was wanting to see that bottle break across the bow. It erupted in fireworks, then fireworks were shot off the side of the ship.

Me too, I wanted to see the big bottle break. Would have even liked to see the little bottle break, but they didn't show a close up.

Did the big bottle even tap the little bottle? Or will they do that later?

Since I was on the 2-day count-down I thought I would check the boards and could not believe it almost 200 pages, where have I been???
To Respond to Melora: I have a dd who will be 14 on Monday and this is our 4th cruise, last May she went to the teen club and loved it, although she was shy at first. Her name is Kathryn, the CM's make it so fun and easy to interact with other teens, she ended up meeting great friends. I also have a DD 11 and DD 8, my DD11 is so excited for the edge. The last cruise she had to hang out with her younger sister at club, and her younger sister is more outgoing, so this time she said, YES....I can make my own friends.....Can't wait to see all of you in 2-days......I'll be the one drinking white Zin on the top deck during the cast off party......:woohoo:

dizneygirlz...I have a DD that just turned 12! She is so excited about the Edge too! I hope the counselors help the girls make friends! :yay:

We are having the same debate! On the down side, DCA is a maze of construction walls right now - but on the upside that probably means fewer people braving it I bet, so the wait times should be short??

Did you see that in DL they are having Family Fun Weekends? This weekend is "Kickin' Country Weekend" yeehawwww! The should be appearance by Cowboy Mickey and Cowgirl Minney :)

I heard 6:30 am on another Dis thread. We are at the Crowne Plaza so I was wondering if we'd be able to see it pulling in from the hotel at all... but I don't know if I want to be up at 6:30 anyway...

I have a zillion things to do still, and can't get anything accomplished while the kids are still in the dark :(

I did get my hair done today though! CHECK!

Ewwww, I figured as much. We live on the beach and watch Carnival ships come and go out. I was hoping to see ours come in. Not thinking I can get up that early, but who knows. I will be excited afterall :banana:

I'm hoping we are able to make it to the meet up Friday afternoon and the kids hook up there. I'm afraid mine will be too chicken to go to the club on her own. I'm not babysitting either!

The pile of suitcases really depressed my wife to. "I can't believe how much we packed." were her exact words.

I told my hubby I was making a packing list and he said for 2 nights?
He apparently doesn't realize there isn't a packing fairy that shows up overnight and packs our bags so has has everything he needs every time we get to where we are going.
Last time I let him pack for a business trip he had to take he waited until 10 PM the night before his 10 AM flight and then made me do it for him anyway.
