Wonder getting REPO'ed to Vancouver!: May 20th, 2013 Official Thread!

Have you looked into quick shuttle? I know they pick up right at the port in Vancouver, and will drop off in a few places in seattle

Amtrak usually runs around $30 per person, but I have heard it can take some planning to get to the station from the port with luggage.

I'm curious to hear what you thought of the Amtrak trip. We're considering taking the train from Vancouver to Seattle. Do you recall what station you left from and arrived at? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Amtrak was very easy and no stopping at the border and gathering our luggage to go thru customs like you do with the bus. We left from Seattle and arrived in Vancouver - I don't remember the exact stations, I just checked on line and booked it that way. We took a taxi to/from each station.

I ended up booking flights for DH & I last week using FF miles on USAir. We are going first class from PHL-LAX and then YVR-PHL all for 45,000 miles plus $75 in taxes for each of us. We couldn't pass up the mileage savings for us, not to mention the $$$ savings. We are going to have to spend the night in Vancouver since we could only get the 7:30am flight out of YVR thru PHX to PHL the next morning. Now to decide if we stay at the airport, near the airport or in the city and get up even earlier to get the airport the next morning.
Still have to figure out DD's flights. Not sure if she will do r/t out of MCO or fly back to PHL with us and stay home for a couple days before heading back to FL for work.

Hi everybody,
I have volunteered for organizing the Fish Extender exchange for this cruise.

Here are the rules:

People participating will agree that they will have something hanging from their fish for people to leave gifts in. This can be a dedicated Fish Extender, a pocket organizer, a tote bag, etc.

People participating will agree that they deliver something to each cabin participating. This can either be individual gifts or a cabin gift or a mixture of both.

It is up to each person/ family participating when they deliver, but to allow people to pack, please do not deliver after 4:00 PM on the last full day.

People participating will be mindful of any allergies and dietary restrictions listed on the spreadsheet when leaving gifts.

This is meant to be fun and not cause stress or break the bank. Home-made gifts, things from your local area, magnets, something to use for Pirate Party like temporary tattoos and glow sticks all make great gifts as do things that can be used during the cruise and one excursions.

It is up to each family participating if they want to add something to let recipients know who has given the gift.

If you sign up for the Fish Extender Exchange and subsequently have to cancel the cruise, please let me know that I can remove you from the list.

Cut off for joining the Fish Extender Exchange is midnight Eastern time on 8th April 2013

I will PM everybody taking part in the Fish Extender Exchange a link to a Google spreadsheet on 9th April 2013.

I will update stateroom numbers as room assignments are made. If I make any updates after 9th April, I will post both on the DIS and on Facebook.

If you would like to participate, please fill out this form:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dFhWMTdZYnRVQmFBSWxWdWJzQ0JZdlE6MQ

I will post a full list of participants every Monday.

Just canceled this cruise so if anyone wants to get a secret verandah cabin 7120 go see if it's available. Category 7A.

What's a secret veranda room? My daughter and I are considering switching to this cruise and I'm still searching for a stateroom. Thanks!

It's a regular verandah priced as a cat. 7A Navigator's verandah due to a slight obstruction due to a beam. We had 7620 on the Panama cruise and didn't mind the slant of the one side. Here's some pics I found.

Thanks ACDSNY! Stateroom 7120 was still available... I grabbed it!! We were actually booked on a the Fantasy going out of Port Canaveral for this same week. I was teetering on changing to this cruise, but being able to get this secret veranda helped me decide. Thank you! :dance3:

I'm happy you were able to grab it, the secret verandah's are a great value and your close to the aft deck 7 which is usually pretty quiet (just go to the end of the hallway to the back of the ship and through the door to the outside.

I was way sad I had to cancel due to work issues so we're flying to Seattle and Victoria BC the following week to make up for it.

HELLO, from the SF Bay Area!! I've cruised a total of 19 voyages, but have never embarked on such a "Magical Voyage". I, the aunt who spoils all the nieces & nephews, joined up to see if the bang was really worth my buck!! The way you good folk rave about these Magical Vessels Afloat, I've booked TWO cruises -one with the kids (Magic 04/29/13) & one sans (Wonder-Pacific/Vancouver Repo)!! Looking forward to a great time!

I can't sew worth a lick, but I have 3 months to work on a FE!! Please add us 3 adults to the roll call party: #6644 - Tina (line dancing mom), Nikki & JoJo (Tina's daughters)

Thanks! You guys are certainly a group of Magical People. We'll fit right in!

Nikki

Btw, that's "Line Dancing Tina" in the Tea Cup! Mom just won't stay still! LOL!

Hello there... We just booked a GTY but haven't gotten flights back down to LA yet as my DH won't commit until we can get his parents to join us for their 40th anniversary. I just wanted to let you know I'll be lurking on the thread until we decide one way or another.

We are: myself, DH, DD (4 at sail date), and DS (9m at sail date), and hopefully adding my MIL & FIL and my BFF and her nieces.
