Just back from the Wonder four nighter.... in a word... MAGICAL... only complaint- too short!!! Do not want to be home so soon!!! We went with two children girl(12) and boy(9) and a set of grandparents...
First Day- embark was easy and organized... boat was full so no upgrading to be found... was quite impressed that even in the drop off line up to the port the guards watched for line cutters(cars) and sent them around back.. justice for all ones ever cut on
)) Arriving on the boat we had lunch, made Palo reservations(after lunch and still got Wednesday night), and signed the kids up for the lab... We then went to the deck party ... I was a little put-off by how many kids/people there were... packed!!! Like the MK on a busy day.... was nervous as how this was to work out, but trust me after the first afternoon all is better.... it is just a little overwhelming on that first afternoon
)))
We had an inside cat 11 on deck 6 in the front... perfect location, lab was one flight down, theatre two flights down... the cabin was "so small, but so 5 stars" says my daughter... it is quite compact and if modesty is an issue it would have been quite difficult... definitly pack in small bags to put under bed... and a door holder would never have worked in this room- the bathroom is too small to hang on that door and closet door is in a small hall area about 28" wide... trust me room service needs all 28" to get a tray inside
The lab was great for my son- he enjoyed all the free time and video/computer games immensley.. he also like the flubber making and regatta soap boat making... my daughter at just 12 was a bit too old for the lab and there wasn't that many girls her age there... she also isnt a video/computer game junkie so not as much to do... she did enjoy when they went on an activity to the teen place, Common Grounds, but there were only 1-2 other 10-12 girls there.. she would have much more to do if she was 13- their teen program looked great and well attended... ah, the problems of a tween
))) she did have a great time though with us and tried everything once
The shows were ALL excellent... do not miss them.... kids saw Nemo twice... Palo was excellent, must have the chocolate souffle... Castaway Cay is paradise- have to see it to believe it...
Snorkling- we rented the snorkel gear at CC... we didn't have much to go on so the kids and I went out with high expectations and not much of a clue... we made it out to the sunken mast- about 240' and only saw about 15 fish, pretty, but not like any snorkling brochure... made our way back in and thought that was about it... now i knew from these boards there was a sunken mickey and had told them about it, but it just didn't seem worth it from what i had seen... well with his competitive side up the hubby decides after lunch he's taking the gear and the son and off to find mickey... well off they go and they make it all the way out to the white buoy.... when you get there or if you remember this is far,far out, past all the guard docks and they have asked each guard where mickey is... well mickey is between buoy A and B and at the end of the sunken ship... but wait the best part... when you get out this far- further than the majority of people make it- it IS beautiful and there are schools of fish and 3 footers and all kinds of things... so while searching for mickey and taking in tons of sea water,
, they do have a fabulous father son snorkling experience... so take this advice- go far or go home
)))
Also, check out the adult beach on CC if even for one tram stop- that view will be with me for a lifetime
))
Enjoyed the wine tasting- free pin... enjoyed bingo- free pin for checking the board.. the characters are EVERYWHERE, so many and easy to get tons of pictures and autographs... highly impressed with this...
we got our free soda mugs from our AAA transfer- no stickers
but easy enough for 6 free mugs
))
My daughter also loved the animal towel making session and is still making us animals
))) we had an swan,elephant, monkey (actually hanging from the curtain), and a pig... all sooooo cute and the kids loved that part...
Any questions please ask away... and 4 days was just too short, next time a week with a better spending budget
