This guest is doing a report.
Thanks for the update! Who is the captain? I hope you have spectacular time the rest of your vacation and safe travels home.So here are my initial thoughts on what has happened.
1. Embarkation/ testing was mess that was very un- Disney like. Granted you have to give them a bit of leeway seeing it was the first cruise leaving Canada so you’re not to expect things to run 100%. But to have the testing site outside walking distance from the port with no covering in one of the ravious cities on the planet is a big big error. They had noted in the email that there will be mobile assistance for those that needed and I heard from many there was nothing. I myself had a walk 10 minutes in the pouring rain to get from the testing facility across the street at Fairmont to the entrance at the port.
2. The consensus is that the ship is just over 1000 full. And to be honest it feels perfect.
3. Concerning testing and positives I have heard three things:
A. Nobody tested positive and everyone made it on board
B 500 people did not make it on board either due to flights or testing positiv
C. And that they were allowing positive people on board they had a quarantine for five days at the beginning of the sailing and then could test out of quarantine.
4. We had a medevac and turned back around but the captain somehow made up for lost time and we arrived on time. Here Ship rumors varied was it a male or a female ? who knows but we all believe that person is doing better thank God
5. First two days weather was freezing like really bad and then got much better dramatically
6. I’m bored Hawaiian themed stuff was very disappointing. Honestly I think it was one of the worst Disney T-shirts I had seen in a while but people still bought it because it was the only one available.

I’m getting off Honolulu and there is no testing required to get off the boat or fly back home if you fly back with to the United States. Even Canada if you’re fully vaccinated which all are, there might be a few exceptions with small kids, you don’t need a test. The boarding process does not sound funIf you have time, can you let us know what the process is to get off? Will they offer testing onboard (even if it’s for a fee) for guests that are flying home the same day? Thanks a bunch and hope the trip gets better!
On the Alaska cruises, there will be testing available at the port in Vancouver via safe passage for people flying back to the US on the same day. Will they offer testing onboard (even if it’s for a fee) for guests that are flying home the same day?
Capt. Danielli? (sp?) We've had him as Captain on our October cruises in San Diego. Very friendly. The Cruise Director is Lee the captain I forgot his name but I believe he’s from Italy I’ll have to check when I get on board
Do you know if we need to pre-register for this? Just wondering if it will actually be in the port or across the street where the OP said embarkation testing was located. On the Alaska cruises, there will be testing available at the port in Vancouver via safe passage for people flying back to the US on the same day.
The DCL rep told me we have to test if we are flying back to the US from Canada. Those driving or taking the train are ok, but flying back to the US means testing from what I understood. Would be great news if this is not true!C

It is true you have to present a test to board a plane to the US.The DCL rep told me we have to test if we are flying back to the US from Canada. Those driving or taking the train are ok, but flying back to the US means testing from what I understood. Would be great news if this is not true!

I was referring to flying back to the US from Hawaii you’re staying within US no testing. If you’re taking the sailing back to Vancouver then yes you have to deal with testing to get back into the US if you’re flyingThe DCL rep told me we have to test if we are flying back to the US from Canada. That I only heard from one person. I take it as a 99.9% rumor as I heard in our FB group that people were denied. My point was it’s just crazy and how many different types of rumors go around the shipThanks for the update!~
I really hope that they didn't let people who were positive board and then be quarantined. I get that you have 5 days of sea before getting to Honolulu. But it is not fair to anyone else that has cruised and was denied boarding due to a positive result. Plus will they be laxed that after 5 days, even if they are showing symptoms they will still get to leave since technically they served their 5 days? Are they gonna be basing them as an honor system that they will wear masks for the rest of the duration? That just seems like a disaster from dcl if they did it this route.
Would love to hear from Palo if you get the chance to ask:We are on it! Doing our HNL excursion. Can post a few tibits later
According to what I read, I think you will need to pre-register on the Safe Passage website. I don't know where the testing will be though. If it is across the street, I'm going to have to change my car pick up AND I don't really want to have to haul around my luggage.Do you know if we need to pre-register for this? Just wondering if it will actually be in the port or across the street where the OP said embarkation testing was located.
