We've been to WDW many, many times, but this is our first trip to Disneyland. It will be me, DH, DD10 and DD8. I really want to be able to see WOC sometime. We arrive on 4th of July and are there thru the 9th. With the 4th being our first night, and a holiday, I was debating on doing the dinner package w/WOC that night. Do you think everyone will be at Disneyland park for the fireworks? Or will WOC be too crazy also? I don't need to do the package that night, we can do it any other night of our trip too, I'm just working on the itinerary. Any opinions? Also, DDs don't care about seeing fireworks, so missing the fireworks on the 4th at the other park isn't an issue at all. Thanks!

Both the fireworks and WoC have special editions on the 4th, which creates more demand by veiwers.

Doing dining package will only give two benefits than getting the free show passes from the Grizzly River Rapids FP distibution. One is you get food, that is really what you pay for. Two, there is no risk that you won't get a show pass.

Thanks..so do you think we should attempt it on the 4th or wait for another night? We don't have to do anything special on the 4th, it doesn't really matter either way. I just want to make sure we at some time see WOC with the least amount of hassle.

WoC has limited viewing since you must have a Show Pass to view from Paradise Park. So it is full almost every day regardless of how busy the day is.

So it may be good to view on the 4th since that night can be extra busy but the viewing area won't be any more crowded. It may also be good to see on the weekend Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Those days are going to quite possibly be busier overall than the 4th.

Also while not known how this will work. Sometimes the 4th's special shows can play for a longer period. You may see them the whole week that 4th falls on. Though on the 4th people show up in greater number for the fireworks, because it's the 4th.
