WNT & SM at MK (Too many abbreviatons!!!!)

Can someone please explain to me the following:

WNT - Wishes
SM - Spectromagic

I am having trouble understanding the differences with these "shows".

It seems that when we go in October WNT and SM will not be on every day. And until the park hours are released at the start of August we wont know whats on when.

I dont even know what Wishes or Spectromagic is(??).

Can anyone explain what the differences are, or whether one is better than the other.

wishes is a fireworks display over the castle, supposed to be spectacular, havent seen it but, it has replaced fantasy in the sky fireworks display which we saw last year and was amazing. spectromagic is a parade through mk, where all the floats and characters are lit up, wearing lights and neon etc it is amazing and is definately worth seeeing.

So we could probably give Wishes a miss then, especially if we are seeing the fireworks in Epcot. Plus the fact that we want to do MNSSHP at some point and Ive read that there'll be fireworks then.

So Spectromagic is a parade, but not the normal daily one? We saw a parade all lit up at night through DLP, so is this similar? The one at DLP was fantastic.

The problem is, then, that Spectromagic isnt on daily, and we wont know what days its on until Oct hours are out - and we need to make our PS's at MK now, and only have a 5 day hopper so cant really chop and change our days.

I dont understand why PS's are made 90 days out, before the park hours are released??!!! If I wait till the start of August to see the hours, then try for the PS's, I'll have absolutely no hope in getting CRT!!

It does seem a crazy system!

Wishes usually follows Spectro Magic a little later so you may catch both.

You should be able to change your PS nearer the time if you want to.

If you want to catch Spectromagic, which is fantastic wait around for wishes which I think is out of this world they way the castle is used is amazing.

Although WISHES will be similar to the fireworks shown at MNSSHP - I would go and see both if you can They are THE best fireworks ever. Totally different to Illuminations at Epcot.

Last year we saw WISHES 3 times They were fab!

Lorraine have a look on this page Put your dates in for the times you are going and it will give you projected park hours based on what happened last year

Thanks for the link Kaylee but Im still struggling.

I can see the projected hours for Oct, but it doesnt show whats on when.


Basically with our 5 day hopper we were going to do one full day at each park, and then with the remaining day chose which park we need to see more of.

We are planning on doing extra at MK anyway with MNSSHP.

Im thinking of a Friday for MK, as its listed as Light. But will Wishes AND Spectromagic BOTH be on, during a Light Day?


I cant wait for the Oct Hours to be out!!!!

There will probably be Spectro and Wishes on <i>only</i> if there is no MNSSHP that night.

I have dug out the info for 19th - 25th Oct last year and that was..

Sunday 19th - <b>MNSSHP</b> Park Hours 9 - 6
Monday 20th - Park Hours 9 - 7.30 - Wishes
Tuesday 21st - Park Hours 9 - 7
Wednesday 22nd - Park Hours 9 - 8.30 - SpecroMagic & Wishes
Thursday 23rd - Park Hours 9 - 8.30 - SpecroMagic & Wishes
Friday 24th - <b>MNSSHP</b> Park Hours 9 - 6
Saturday 25th - Park Hours 9 - 11 SpectoMagic x 2 & Wishes

I hope this can help you guess from this whats happening the week you are going.

These are the dates of this years MNSSHP - Oct 1st, 3rd, 8th, 12th, 14th, 17th, 20th, 22nd, 24th, 26th, 28th, 29th and the 31st
