I was looking at my reservation for Feb 7th to the 14th and it say's on the sheet that room type is a studio lockout. I am kinda of guessing here but does that mean that the room is connected to a one bedroom? Does that mean it does not have a balcony or a pullout couch? I am curious because I would really like a room with a balcony.

I stayed in a studio "lockout" (first DVC trip) last June, and is did have a balcony, and was connected to a 1 BR. This was room #2509. It faced the pool, close to the elevator/ice. I could hear some activity in the next room at night before going to sleep, but it never was a real bother. Consider that I was "rooming" with a 9, 5, and 4 year old!!! Loved this location, though.

Based on information from this board, I believe there is only one studio at VWL without a balcony (or porch). I can't remember the number.

So you have pretty good odds of gettting a balcony.

Also, a few of the rooms on the upper floor have hard wall balconies...if you're sitting down you can't see out to the view.

Good luck!

We just got back from 1st trip home at VWL and stayed in a studio lockout. It had a porch since it was on ground level and a pullout couch also. Im with Granny, I think there is only 1 studio without a balcony or porch and if anyone knows about VWL Granny does. Your member guidebook has a layout of the room and ours was just like the picture, in fact IMO the picture seems to make the room look smaller than it really is. By the way, we had a view of the woods on the lakeside, very peaceful.
