I'm hoping to get into Wilderness Lodge at the 7 month mark for Nov. 19-24 (or at least the first 2 nights of the trip). What do you think my chances are, as we just need a studio? We're currently booked at our home resort for those dates.

And should I do day-by-day reservations? I haven't tried that before.

A few years ago we had no problem getting that timeframe and we booked in June. But to be safe I would call day by day. And you were smart to have your home resort booked, just in case.

No fees. Sometimes there have been issues with reservations being "lost" in the few minute booking period. It is wise to ask "how many (of the new villas) are available" before deciding that you will cancel and switch. Best case would be to have enough points to book the new reservation and then cancel the old one, if there is very limited availability.

Yes, I've done the switch before..luckily we have enough points that it's not an issue, I"ll make the WL ressie first, then cancel the other.
