Hi,
Just venting again.
I can't believe how much the WLV 1BR's have gone up across the board.

I mean why is it more expensive to stay at WLV 1BR's during F&W fest.
It is cheaper to stay in a Boardwalk View room that WLV. This is crazy.

People were suggesting WLV went up a lot in adventure season because of the popularity of Christmas decorations there.

What is the excuse with higher points during F&W than the Epcot resorts.
Just venting:badpc:

ANd they are the same as Savannah View rooms at AKV. Don't get that at all.

Seriously....WLV has basically no view....and I could stay Savannah for the same...or a BW view...for CHEAPER during F&W:faint:

I don't understand why WLV is taking such a hit.

I must apologize - it's because I bought there a few months ago and DVC has yet to make a change that benefits me! :sad2:

Kerri...any idea of where Disney made the point reductions to balance out the 1BR increases?

My theory is that it may be to bring VWL more in line with BLT to discourage people from trying to get a MK area stay on the cheap, so to speak. With the high BLT point costs more folks may start deciding VWL is close enough. This increase may be to help even out the point disparity between the two resorts.

I love VWL and its proximity to MK. I will probably try to do a BLT stay one year soon but believe I would still prefer VWL for its theme and atmosphere. I prefer the boats and buses to the monorail so that doesn't add any value to BLT for me.

I'm also of the mindset that if you aren't staying in at least a 1BR then you aren't really getting all the benefits (washer/dryer, full kitchen, etc) out of a DVC stay. By increasing the 1BR costs they could be trying to free up more of them to provide more 2BR lockoff availability.

Again, its just a theory but would help explain the seemingly uneven point increases there.

It looks like they've, for the most part, lowered weekly stays in studios and 2-br's at the expense of higher stays in a 1-br. For VWL, that is.

This isn't completely true. I haven't checked all the seasons but I know that 1 week in a 2BR went up by 2 points during Magic Season.

Ok...apology accepted:lmao: I love Disney in every way....but I have been disapointed in some decisions lately....and even more so in the implementation.

Seems 2BR's and some studio's in the higher seasons went down.....but 1BR's across the board have been "gouged"......IMO>...

I agree with the mindset of needing a 1BR to fully benefit from DVC...with the washer/dryer/kitchen. And maybe they realize how awesome WLV is.....and they are worried that people will realize the points are too expensive at BLT and say let's stay at WLV instead. Still pisses me off. My luck...I buy WLV ....get hooked on 1BR's....and of course that will have the BIGGEST INCREASE OF ANY RESORT.:badpc:

Yes....this is what makes me crazy....how can a 1BR at WLV be MORE POINTS than a BOARDWALK VIEW during F&W fest:scratchin

2 points for a 2BR in "high" season....seems more reasonable than 6 points for a 1BR in "value" season......IMO.

Good question.

Our standard vacation to VWL in Dec in a 1 bedroom went from 178 to 180 points. I know Dec is popular with DVC members so I can live with that.

But our standard stay at BWV in a one bedroom BWV dropped from 142 to 134 in October (includes both weekend nights.) Seems odd that points would decrease during a time when the resort is so popular you need to make reservations 11 months out to stay there!

this is what makes me nuts....Ok...raise "value" season at WLV....OK makes sense very popular time.
How do they then lower BWV during F&W fest. It actually blows my mind that I can get a BW view room for 1 point cheaper than a 1BR at WLV
DURING F&W fest:confused3
