WL upgrade from standard

Is it common for WL to upgrade you from a standard view to a woods or courtyard at no charge? its our anniversary but i dont want to tell them that b/c then it seems like a expect somthing.

I always get upgraded when I go to the WL...and I am pleasantly surprised each time!

If I were you, when I check in, just be in an upbeat, bubbly mood. they usually ask you how are you, etc. Tell then how happy you are to be celebrating your anniversary, you've been looking forward to this trip, etc. Ask the CM "for your most romantic" location...that is not asking for an upgrade, but I bet if they have one, they will give it to you.

Hope you have a great trip...DH and I just got back from WDW where we celebrated our 8 year anniversary. This was our first trip without DD(she is 6) so it was kinda cool!

I was booked for a woods view at the WL in Feb. and I was upgraded to an awesome courtyard view without asking. I'm sure it has a lot to do with availability, but I like to think it was the way my 4 year old charmed the sweet CM we had at check in.

We went to WL for our anniversary in Dec. 2003 with an AP woods view rate. We were upgraded to a courtyard view on the first floor. The only drawback was that it was a handicap room. The plus was that it had a king bed.

We were up graded last summer from a standard to a courtyard view. It was beautiful! I would certainly tell them that you are celebrating your anniversary--it doesn't hurt and you never know!

Thankd for everyone advicee. the only concern i had is i made the reservation through special services b/c my 5 year old son is handicapped and last yr. we requested a room with bedrails on the first floor at the POP and didnt get it so this time i went through special services and I emphasized the need for bedrails and possibly bunkbeds. will they already have the room set aside for us? AND are there rooms on the first floor lobby level or should i look for somthing higher up with a better view? He has a special stroller so the level isnt a big deal now. thanks...

Hmmmm...I am sure that will cut down on the different rooms available. But they must have rooms with bedrails on other levels. If I were you, I would request a higher up room. But that is just my personal preference, because I like more of a view. A lot of people like being on the first floor so they can go out their sliding door to the pool area or wherever they want to go.

Can you contact special services again, to request a higher room?
