WL Sleigh Ride question...

How much will you tip the carriage driver? Is $5 enough? Thinking $40 is a nice even number to have in cash...Any thoughts on tipping?

Also...Want to confirm....There are no decorations along the WL pathway but there is along the FW pathway? Are the FW decorations just the campers that decorate or does the resort do some decorating...We have not done the carriage rides at the holidays and want to give this as a gift to our children...Lights and decorations would be great for two very visual kids...So I think FW would be better based on the information I have found thus far...Any thoughts on which would be the most exciting for two boys?

:santa: Thanks everyone!

Sorry, I can't remember what DH tipped. We took the ride on Dec. 23, 2007.

About the ride...it was nice, but nothing exciting (no lights or anything). I would recommend the one at Ft. Wilderness. We drove thru there on Christmas Day, after breakfast at Chef Mickeys, to look at all the decorations. There were a ton! If that's where the Ft. Wilderness sleigh ride goes at night, I'm sure it's great to see!!

The WL sleigh goes on a back road between the WL and FW. No street lights and through the woods. If moonlight is low you will see very little. The FW sleigh ride travels around the FW campground and yes it is mainly the campsite decorations you will be experiencing, but many of them are very well decorated.:confused3

Last year the reservations open on September 20th so I would call a few days earlier to verify when they will start taking the reservations.

We tipped $5.00 giving the driver $40.00, the sleigh ride was nice but after boarding and the first excitement it was just DARK...in October we did the Haunted Hayride over at the campground, all the Halloween decorations were wonderful. I can only imagine what the Christmas decorations would be like so this year on our Christmas Trip we'll be doing the Carriage ride over at the the Campground.
