Just returned from a wonderful 5 day stay at the WL. It was every bit as wonderful as I remembered. :cool1: The check in went very smoomly-with one little glitch. I had requested Q/2bunks, but they gave us a Q/Q because the Lodge was full. They did tell us they would have a Q/2bunks available the next day but didn't know the location of the room. They upgraded us from woods to courtyard view-5th floor room overlooking the falls/pool. Fabulous view, we loved the room so we decided to stay in that room.

The room was ready at check in and was spotless!!! No palmetto bugs, cherrrios beneath the bed, stains on the spread or bizarro things in the bathroom. Believe me I checked.! And the best part-towel animals, two days in a row!!!!

There were always chairs available at the pool and the pool was never overcrowded. We were able to see MK firworks every night fromn the hotel parking lot.

We had a great meal at WCC-though we went early at 5-not to crazy, had a wonderful waiter named Jeff-the real hooting and hollering always seemed to be later on in the evening. We always seemed to hit Roaring Forls fast food ar the right time, never really had any wait to speak of.

The transportation was in a word, AWESOME! We never waited for more then 5-10 minutes for any bus or boat. Either my timing was impeccable or they really have transportation down to an art form!

All in all, it was a wonderful stay. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, actgually did most of my shopping for souvenirs right in the hotel mercantile. They had a wonderful selection of things. :cheer2:

Sounds like you had fun. We were at the WL back in 02 and it was soooo nice. We asked for a Q/Bunk but they didn't have them at all! So we got stuck with Q/Q, but it was still nice.

Thanks for the review. We stayed there in June and enjoyed it too.

We will be having our first stay there in 45 days and can't wait. We will be there for 8 nights and are very excited! Thanks! :goodvibes

Glad you had a great time! We were there in June for 11 nights and had a courtyard view on the sixth floor and we loved it!

Thanks for the great review! We will be there in a week and we can't wait! :sunny:

Thanks for the review. Our family of 4 will be staying at WL for the first time in December. Can't wait to see it in all of its Christmas glory.

:cool1: pirate: :cheer2:

Glad to hear you had a great time. We are requesting a Queen and Bunkbed. at WL in late June 2006. We have a AAA rate if $279 for a courtyard view.
I have a DS teen and DD tween who will not sleep together.

I will call 2 weeks before - if I can not get a room assigned to us - I will move to another resort which can accomodate them not sleeping together.

Too bad those who requested the bunkbed, did not get one.

Where did your kids sleep without a bunkbed ?

Hi, Sounds like you had a great time. I know nothing about WL, but have been toying with the idea of staying there sometime. I was disappointed to read in the Unofficial Guide that WL had a convoluted bus system. I am glad to hear it sounds like that wasn't your experience. Anybody have a hard time with WL transportation? So it's boat to MK and bus to everything else, right?

Is the Chip and Dale event (can't remember the name of it) at night hard to get into?

Thanks,
Tink

>>>>>>>>>My girlfriend and her 8 year old shared a bed. My 19 year daughter is the one who wanted the bunk-God forbid she should have to share a bed with mom! I told her "well dear, dad and I pay your college tuition(two incomes-one child =very little financial aid)so now you will know what it feels like to sacrifice!!! She was out like a log every night! Actually we were all out like logs every night-very tired and the beds were very comfortable. On another note, we called for extra pillows, they were there in 10 minutes! We also called for a fridge and that was there is about 15 minutes. Mousekeeping was also great. No complaints at all on the hotel service. :cheer2:

<<<<<<<<The boat to the MK is wonderful. And yes, it's buses to all other location. I did not find it convulated at all if you are just going to the parks. I suppose it can get confusing if you need to go resort to resort. Plus remember, DW is so spread out these days it takes a while to get anywhere.

Glad you had a wonderful time. Thanks for the review. WL is awesome!!

61 days to go until we get to see it for ourselves!!!! Thank you so much for your review. I hope everyones trips go well!

My family of four (me, hubby, daughter (14) and son (11)) will be at WL in late August.

Just as we do on all family vacations, if we don't get bunks, we have a 'girls bed' and 'boys bed'...hubby sleeps with son, I sleep with daughter. Always works just fine.

Great review! I am taking my DDs in October and I would love bunk beds so that I could actually get the queen to myself! If there is another queen, inevitably, they will annoy one another until one jumps into bed with me! Kids, gotta love em!

This is what I am trying to avoid on our trip to WL in Nov. I never make any special requests, but this time I am praying for Bunk Beds so I don't have to spend every night in bed with one of my boys!

On the disney web site, you can reserve bunk bed rooms at AKL. Why not at WL???

We were there in June and had no trouble with the transportation. There is now a bus that goes straight to MK from WL. It was great. Only a five minute ride. I believe the Chip and Dale event you are talking about is the Campfire/Sing-a-Long/Movie at FW. It is always very fun and open to all resort guests. It is a very easy boat ride from WL to FW. :flower:
