Anyone ever stay in a ground floor room at WL? Was this a nice room or am I better off in a room with a balcony? THANKS!

We did have a balcony woodsview room. One morning I noticed a family outside feeding the ducks.I assumed they just walked out of their room and thought would be pretty nice but maybe they had just walked around to the pond. Sorry I can't be of more help.

The first time we stayed at the WL we loved it and we had a ground floor room -- I believe 1168. It was the end room by the pool and pool bar. We had great access to the pool and since it was at the end by an exit it was convenient to the walkway to the boat to the MK on one side and the short walkway to the buses from the other side exit door. We have stayed there twice since but were unable to get this room and were on higher floors.

My favorite location to date!!

DH and I went alone in Nov and were scheduled to stay at POFQ, but as you may know, Disney closed it after 9/11 and "consolidated" their guests. We were offered an upsell rate for WL. Since we had never stayed there we went for it.

It was great. The CM at check in put us in a woods view on the wing closest to Roaring Forks (Rm 1024). Our room was dead center of the small pond. The patio set between two very large concrete and wood supports, giving us privacy from our neighbors. It was a real treat to wake up in the morning and watch the wildlife and a quiet retreat after a busy day of park hopping.

The only draw back to a ground floor is that people tend to look into your window when they walk by. Its just human nature. For me, a ground floor isnt private enough.

We stayed at the Lodge in Jan. and had a groung floor room for the first time in 18yrs. I have to agree with the post with the pond. We had 1022 and it was wonderful! King size bed, shower only. It must be a wheelchair accessable room because the bathroom was huge and the room seemed a little bigger. The main thing was though that because there are no sidewalks outside your patio (the pond is completely enclosed by trees and a fence) that it made you feel very spoiled. We were equal walking distance from roaring forks or the other direction you could walk right out the doors closest to the pool and you were already on the walkway to the boats. Best vacation we ever had!

We always stay on the ground floor at WL, it is very convenient. It's very cool to be able to step right outside our room and look at the electrical parade. We were only a few steps from everything. We found it very quiet.
