We checked in and told them which package we wanted. I know that I really could have gone all the way with the castle package where you get the dress, the shoes, the hair... the whole nine yards. But it costs $180

and I just didn't want to risk spending that much money and have her not like it. She had never done anything like this before so I wasn't sure if she would like it. So they checked us in and we sat down, right NEXT to the big rack of dresses that the girls get to choose from when the do the castle package. And I'm pretty sure we were the only ones in there not doing it. Each girl that came in walked right over by us and picked out her dress and her shoes. I could so see in Aubrey's eyes that she wanted to do it so badly and for a second there I almost caved but I didn't. I had dressed her in a special sparkley skirt that reminded us of Ariel. In fact, that's what everyone kept calling her the rest of the day so it really worked out ok. So as we were sitting there, we were looking at the brochure. We had already decided to go with the classic princess bun and little crown. I know they had some really funky options but Jason and I always said there was no way we would let our 4 year old walk around looking like, well, a princess hooker. Ok, sorry but that's what they look like. But in a cute way

Then they called Aubrey's name and it was finally her turn. They introduced us to her Fairy Godmother Susan. Now, let me just tell you a little bit about Susan. She was AMAZING. Seriously, when we go back to do this (and I'm totally doing the castle package, don't tell jason) we are requesting her. She was so sweet and patient and kind with Aubrey that it literally brought tears to my eyes. I have so many pics and videos that I just have to share with you so please bear with me.
First, here she is getting all set up in her chair. Susan was talking to her all about the castle and how Cinderella lives there. Aubrey was hanging on her every word. Susan then asked her which hairdo she wanted to do and did she pick the classic princess bun??? Ummmm, no. She pointed right to the Disney Diva Do!

That girl pulled one over on me! Now, the old me would have jumped up and said oh no baby, remember we decided on the classic look? Not the strung out pop star look? But I didn't. This was her moment so I went with it. And I really am glad that I did because it came out super cute.
And here's a little video so you can hear a few of the things she was telling Aubrey. It's hard to hear but that's because she was talking so softly and sweetly to Aubrey. It was great...
And here we go with the brushing...
And more brushing...
The pictures just don't do it justice. You need to see it in action. Check out this video but make sure to notice the tennis ball sized glob of goo that Susan squirts out onto her hand and the proceeds to schmeer into Aubrey's hair. Susan was funny. She told me that this hairdo would last her until 5th grade if we let it!

And she was right!
Here is Susan showing Aubrey her options of extension colors. There were normal hair colors, brown, blond, red, and then of course, pink. Anyone want to take a stab at which color she chose??? Well see for yourself...
OF COURSE she went with the pink! This was going to be good. I was enjoying every single second of this can I tell you! It was great. I was sitting right across from her with my video camera and my regular camera. But there were photopass people all over the place. They took my card and sat it in the tray next to Aubrey. Each time any photographer would pass by and take a pic, they would just pick up our card and scan it. It was a great system and I got some GREAT photopass shots. Probably my most favorite one from the whole trip. But this does bring me to something I need to clear up...
Remember earlier when I said Brendan dropped the camera in Epcot and it broke? Well, obviously that must have been during a later visit to Epcot because clearly here my camera is still working. I guess I'll figure out when exactly it happend when I get to that part of the trip. Just thought I would clear that up for anyone who was confused, like me
Ok, back to the hair. So she picks the pink hair which I am totally not suprised by at all. Susan had already gotten her hair slicked up into a pretty tight braid so it was now time to add the extension. Here we go. She literally sewed the thing into her hair. It wasn't painful. It just wan't going anywhere for a while!
So the pink was in and Susan began teasing, teasing, and more teasing. Then, the nail girl came and started on her nails then makeup. What a diva!!
And here we go with even more teasing!!!
And now it was time to hold it all together with 3 cans of hairspray. They gave Aubrey a little shield to hold over her face to keep it out of her eyes. Everyone around us was cracking up at her face. LOVE IT!!!
She was almost complete. All that was left was a little pixie dust. Susan began whispering in Aubrey's ear. I couldn't hear what she was saying but the expression on Aubrey's face says enough. Whatever it was filled her little heart with magic and I'm sure they were words that she'll never forget. And words that made such a magical experience even more magical. This is when I started to cry. I was sitting there watching my baby girl being transformed into a princess. And she believed every second of it. Susan was wonderful. She made my beautiful baby girl into a beautiful diva princess. Just look at this...
And then the reveal. Look at that face! She was thrilled. The tears came again. From me, not her. It was just such a special moment for her. I was beyond thrilled
Look at that face...
Now check out the video...
I hope I'm not boring you with all of the pictures and videos but I'm telling you, it was an awesome experience. We will definitely be doing it again on our next trip. And hey, I just may splurge for the castle package!
Now, I mentioned before that I had a favorite photopass pic from this session and it really is my fav from the whole trip. I'm going to use it as advertising for my business. Don't know if I ever mentioned this but I am a
travel agent and I specialize in
Disney Vacations! Yeah, I love my job. Anyway, this pic will be on some kind of advertising material for me. Look how absolutely beautiful...
And here is another fav pic of mine. It's of Aubrey and Susan after they're all done. She was the best I tell ya. The BEST!!!!
So after we were done with BBB, it was time to meet back up with daddy. I called him and he was going to come back to the castle to meet up with us. While we waited, I took a few pics of Aubrey with her new makeover. She was just so proud y'all. It was the cutest thing in the whole world and somehow, I had gone from wanting the classic bun to loving the Disney Diva!
By this time, I could see Jason in the distance but he hadn't seen us yet. I told Aubrey to hide behind the garbage can so she could pop out and suprise daddy. I couldn't wait to see his reaction. And OH how I WISH I would have gotten a picture of it. When Aubrey popped out from behnd that garbage can, I thought Jason was going to pee on himself. He almost fell to his knees laughing which actually kind of upset Aubrey. But he was VERY quick to say that he LOVED it and he wasn't laughing at her. He was just so happy to see how beautiful she was. Nice save dad. She totally bought it and was beaming from ear to ear again! OMG, it was priceless. So many people stopped us and said how cute she was. It was fantastic. I highly recommend it for any of your little princesses out there!
Ok, time to call it a night for me. Up next, jungle cruise and some more special mommy and Aubrey time.
