WL Flag Family Of The Day pics added! - Birthday Magic and Disney Diva Hair.

Very cool about the birthday call! I laughed so hard at the pic with Jason and Jasmine and his great big ole smile... and it was so funny you could see Bobo running away! Our Jasmine was all covered and Wayne wasn't too happy! :rotfl2: I can't believe how much the kids look alike in the picture of them in front of the fountain!!

OMG, this picture cracks me up! It's priceless!

Another great update. I love how you write about the little details of your trip, those are what makes a trip to Disney so special. Love the pictures with Marie, she's one of my favorites!

Still loving your TR, you have a gracious way of writing! What a magical bday for Brendan :wizard: I'm glad Aubrey got her pic with Jasmine and Aladin!

You SO have me cracking up! I love the way you write things - again, it's like I'm right there with you! The Aladdin/Jasmine pics and the story to go along with it are just too funny (I'm sitting here at work looking like a cackling hen laughing at my computer screen - really quite the scene, truth be told.)
Love the last one with your little one running away! How hilarious! :lmao:

I've heard of the birthday call thing but the whole way the CM went about it really made it neat!

Yeah, I love Jason's face in that pic. He's totally saying to himself "Hee, hee hee!" Jasmine's outfit leaves little to the imaginations!

People ask us if they're twins ALL the time especially when they're sitting in the stroller together because they're the same height when sitting down. My babies, I love them so:love:

Sometimes I feel like I'm going a little overboard with the details but those really are the things that make our trips so memorable! I'm glad you are enjoying my ramblings:laughing:

Thank you so much! Brendan had a great day and so did we! Aubrey was just thrilled with her pic with Aladin and Jasmine. She LOVES them!

That is such a compliment! I'm glad you enjoy my writing because I literally just write whatever pops into my head. It's exactly how I would be telling you the story if you were sitting in front of me. I worry that I should filter myself sometimes:rolleyes1 Glad I have you laughing out loud. Nothing like a good laugh in the middle of the workday! I laughed out loud when I posted that pic. It's just too funny. Jason's face and Brendan in the background....:rotfl: Good times!

LMAO at the picture of Brendan running away!!!!! :lmao:

45 minutes for Jasmine and Aladdin???? Yikes!!! Ugghhh!!!! I'm so glad they were good for you.

So did you never get to meet Tiana and Naveen???? I'm sorry you missed them. They were fabulous.

Thanks for the video of VOL. Some day I'll actually see them live. Always miss them.

Yep, pretty funny eh!

Aubrey waited so patiently in line. Jason had Brendan off doing who knows what to keep him distracted. That's why I didn't have the camera when it was our turn!

Nope, no Tiana for us. We'll find them next time for sure!

VOL are awesome. You must make a point to see them in person. The video does not do them justice!

Ok, and I just saw how you put how many miles between you and WDW in your profile pic. LOVE it! Do you care if I copy???

Please don't stop writing your trip reports. I'm new to DISboards and stumbled upon this trip report. Since then, I went back and read your trip report when you took the kids (3 and 18 months.) I feel kind of creepy in a way that I've been reading your Disney story for the last few hours. Good thing Beauty and the Beast is keeping my DD busy!

Thank you for sharing. I have loved every minute (post) of it!

Ok, you are cracking me up! I am so happy that you've enjoyed my TR's! I have put so much time into them. They're like my babies! LOL about your DD and Beauty and the Beast. Thank God for movies! How else do you think I get these TR's done:rotfl: I kid, I kid. Really though, welcome to the DIS and thanks for reading along! Now, where's your PTR???:confused3

LOL-I'm really thinking about writing one. I teach and will have some free time coming up so I just may spend it writing a PTR. That and everyone I know is sick of listening to me talk about our trip!

Hello....

Just squeezing in a quick update to finish up Brendan's birthday day. Uploading day 4 right now:thumbsup2

I last left you right about the time that Brendan hijacked his stroller and was making a run for it. We caught up with him and decided to take a stroll around Morocco. Aubrey loved the fountain and decided that she wanted her picture in front of it. It's so funny because I have done all but stand on my head on previous trips to get her to pose for pictures. Now, she was willing to wait in 45 minute lines just to take one! Oh, what a difference 4 months can make! Here she is, working it...

DSC_0435.jpg

In going through my photobucket pics, I noticed one that I have not posted. I guess I'm losing my memory but apparently at some point, we ran into Belle and The Beast. I really have NO recall of this. Maybe it was the heat, maybe it was the Grey Goose slushie:rolleyes1 Regardless, here is a precious pic of Aubrey with two of her fav characters...

Image0082.jpg

So, we were now going on about 12 hours straight at Epcot and it was time to get going. Even though it was a wonderful day, we were beat! We started to make our way to the front of the park and came across that patch of grass next to Germany. I always thought that it looked so inviting and it would be nice to just sit in the grass and enjoy the scenery. So, guess what we did??? Yep, we stopped, took our shoes off and chilled. The kids had a ball running around and playing. I have to say that this was a great moment for us. Just another way that we stopped to smell the roses:) Here is a pic of the kids burning off what energy they had left...

DSC_0445.jpg

Funny story... so there were beautiful topiaries all over the park for the Flowrer and Garden fest. Right next door to Germay (in between Germany and the grassy area) there was a topiary of the 7 dwarfs. I wish I had a picture of this but I do not! Anyway, we were so busy relaxing that we didn't notice Brendan had disappeared! We noticed that he was playing in the bushes but was now gone:scared1: Jason realized that those bushes backed up to the 7 dwarfs display. Brendan managed to find his way through the bushes right into the display:rolleyes1 OMG, it was so funny. By the time Jason made it around to the front, Brendan had a crowd of people standing around him, wondering what in the world this little boy was doing in there with Sleepy and the gang. Jason explained that he was the eighth dwarf. LOLOLOL! Everyone got a good laugh. Oh, boys!!!

It was almost time for Illuminations to start and we wanted to get out of there before the crowds started to gather (we were planning on coming back another night to watch it). We made our way out of the park and to the bus stop. We were all so exhausted. I realized that I had one birthday card left. I just happened to be sitting on the ground waiting for the bus to arrive, and magically, a card appeared right there next to me!

DSC_0446.jpg

The people in line behind us saw the whole thing and they were very amused. They kind of got into it with us and were wishing Brendan a happy birthday. Here he is opening his card...

DSC_0449.jpg

What a great day at Epcot. Our plan really was not to spend Brendan's entire birthday in Epcot but we are so glad that we did. It was amazing!!!

As we dragged ourselved back to our room, I remembered that there was yet another suprise waiting for the birthday boy. After we left the room that morning, I snuck back in and put a present out on the table for Brendan "from Mickey." My sister-in-law also ordered a cookie bouquet for him that should have been delivered by now. We walked into our room and found this...

DSC_0450.jpg

Brendan (and Aubrey) was so excited! Then he found the present from Mickey...

DSC_0454.jpg

It was a Cars watch! How did Mickey know just what Brendan wanted:cutie:

DSC_0455.jpg

Here is one last shot of the birthday boy on his big day with his loot...

DSC_0456.jpg

Ooops, I forgot a story from earlier in the night... When we were making our way out of the park, Aubrey spotted one of those marionette puppets outside of China. We agreed to get her one. Why not. So I picked it up and handed it to her. I am not kidding you that before we even paid for it, she had it completely tangled:scared1: Jason and I looked at each other and said, mmmm maybe not. I took it from her and managed to get it untangled, and promptly hung it back on the rack. So sorry, she's not old enough yet. You can imagine that she was not very happy. We took her into the China gift shop and told her she could pick out something else. After looking at many items, we finally decided on a fan. It wasn't too expensive and it seemed pretty sturdy. Actually, it's still in tact as of today which is quite unheard of in this house!!! Anyway, here is a cute pic of her after baths at the end of the night. We got her to make a silly face with her eyes. What a funny pic...

DSC_0464.jpg

And with that, Brendan's birthday came to an end. What a wonderful day but man were we tired! We all fell into bed and went straight to sleep. We got a good nights sleep ready for the next day!

Up next, a few photopass pics from the day...

And by a few photopass pics, I mean two. We took some cute pics that morning in the hotel. It was a goal to get some good shots in the hotel and there were photopass people on hand so why not! Here they are...

Image0077.jpg

Ok, going to put the kids down. Hopefully another update will follow later:thumbsup2

Hello again everyone! Welcome to Day 4. Now, I know Brendan's birthday was a really special day, but I have to say that this day was the most special for me and Aubrey. Here's the plan. We were going to sleep in a bit and get to MK in time for Aubrey's 10:30 appointment at..... Bibbity Bobbity Boutique!!! I was so excited for this. I wanted to do it for her on her birthday trip but decided to cancel at the last minute because she HATED having her hair brushed. We opted to go to the Harmony Barber shop on Main Street to have her first hair cut. That worked out much better and it was A LOT cheaper! Anyway, she's come a long way with the whole hair thing. She still really can't stand for me to brush it but she's learned to deal with it. We were going to do the Crown package with included hair, nails, and make up. I honestly never tempted to do the Castle package until we actually got there, but I'll get to that in a bit. For now, let's start with the beginning of the day.

We took our time getting out of bed, got dressed, and headed out to catch the boat to MK. Sooooo convenient, can I tell you! Here are some of the sights along the way. It felt like I was walking through my own backyard. Well, minus the geiser. But with all the oak trees, it really did look like home...

DSC_0465.jpg

DSC_0467.jpg

So we're walking along the deck towards the boat and I see something fly out of Brendan's hand off into the bushes. It was his brand new pair of sunglasses and he was besides himself upset! Daddy saved the day by jumping over the rail to rescue them. Really, this is what makes dads heros to their kids, am I right? Anyway, I was just waiting for some undercover CM dressed in camo to jump out of the woods ready to take Jason in for breaching the perimeter of where we were allowed to walk. Thankfully, he escaped unscathed, glasses in hand...

DSC_0468.jpg

The kids were happy and they were off! Down the pier towards the boat...

DSC_0469.jpg

Here is Aubrey posing on the pier. As you can see, her hair is out of control. This is what it looks like when it's not done. We were going straight to BBB and her hair had to be down, clean, and free of knots. Au natural...

DSC_0471.jpg

So were standing there and a beautiful crane comes and lands on one of the posts. I snapped a picture just because it looked so pretty sitting there...

DSC_0473.jpg

There was a chartered boat that had docked right next to the pier and they were fishing. Seemed harmless enough... until one of them casted and that previously pictured beautiful white crane went for the bait! It happened so fast that I really thought I was seeing things. One minute, the bird is magestically perched atop the post the next, it's writhing around in the water but not only had it caught the bait but it had caught the hook.:scared1: The guy had hooked a crane:scared1::scared1::scared1: I was FREAKING out can I tell you and my kids were a little confused too. We tried to play it off but I'm telling you folks, this did not look good. The guys were able to reel the bird close enough to get the line cut but I'm not sure if they got the hook out. The poor bird barely flew away with its head cocked down as if he wasn't able to move it. I hope it wasn't broken. It flew as far as it could and ended up a few hundred feet away in a tree at the edge of the water. Thankfully, the MK boat had just pulled up and the captain had seen the whole thing. He was on the phone calling someone and I'm pretty sure it was about the bird. Hopefully someone was able to come out there and find the bird and help him. It really was disturbing but the more disturbing thing was the way the fishermen reacted, or should I say didn't react. They acted like it happens all the time and if it does, then I don't want anything to do with fishing!

Ok, sorry for that side story there. It's just something that I will never forget. I think about that crane all the time. Anyway, the boat was there and we loaded with no problem. Here is a picture of Aubrey enjoying her breakfast...

A shiney red apple for my precious little girl. Bwaaaaaaaa....sorry. Snow White reference there...

DSC_0476.jpg

It was a quick boat ride and MK was coming into view. I took this pic because I thought it was really cool. It's the monorail, train station, and castle all in one shot. Perty cool, eh?

DSC_0480.jpg

We made it inside the gates and this is where we would seperate for the next hour or so. The boys were going to ride some rides while me and Aubrey headed off to BBB. I got a shot of Brendan before they left because he looked so cute. Since he almost lost his glasses back on the pier, he had been keeping them very close. Here is is modeling his beloved glasses...

DSC_0484.jpg

So cute! We said our goodbyes and went our seperate ways. It wasn't too far of a walk until we came upon this...

DSC_0486.jpg

cont'd to next post...

We checked in and told them which package we wanted. I know that I really could have gone all the way with the castle package where you get the dress, the shoes, the hair... the whole nine yards. But it costs $180:scared1: and I just didn't want to risk spending that much money and have her not like it. She had never done anything like this before so I wasn't sure if she would like it. So they checked us in and we sat down, right NEXT to the big rack of dresses that the girls get to choose from when the do the castle package. And I'm pretty sure we were the only ones in there not doing it. Each girl that came in walked right over by us and picked out her dress and her shoes. I could so see in Aubrey's eyes that she wanted to do it so badly and for a second there I almost caved but I didn't. I had dressed her in a special sparkley skirt that reminded us of Ariel. In fact, that's what everyone kept calling her the rest of the day so it really worked out ok. So as we were sitting there, we were looking at the brochure. We had already decided to go with the classic princess bun and little crown. I know they had some really funky options but Jason and I always said there was no way we would let our 4 year old walk around looking like, well, a princess hooker. Ok, sorry but that's what they look like. But in a cute way;) Then they called Aubrey's name and it was finally her turn. They introduced us to her Fairy Godmother Susan. Now, let me just tell you a little bit about Susan. She was AMAZING. Seriously, when we go back to do this (and I'm totally doing the castle package, don't tell jason) we are requesting her. She was so sweet and patient and kind with Aubrey that it literally brought tears to my eyes. I have so many pics and videos that I just have to share with you so please bear with me.

First, here she is getting all set up in her chair. Susan was talking to her all about the castle and how Cinderella lives there. Aubrey was hanging on her every word. Susan then asked her which hairdo she wanted to do and did she pick the classic princess bun??? Ummmm, no. She pointed right to the Disney Diva Do!:scared1: That girl pulled one over on me! Now, the old me would have jumped up and said oh no baby, remember we decided on the classic look? Not the strung out pop star look? But I didn't. This was her moment so I went with it. And I really am glad that I did because it came out super cute.

DSC_0487.jpg

And here's a little video so you can hear a few of the things she was telling Aubrey. It's hard to hear but that's because she was talking so softly and sweetly to Aubrey. It was great...

And here we go with the brushing...

DSC_0490.jpg

And more brushing...

DSC_0492.jpg

The pictures just don't do it justice. You need to see it in action. Check out this video but make sure to notice the tennis ball sized glob of goo that Susan squirts out onto her hand and the proceeds to schmeer into Aubrey's hair. Susan was funny. She told me that this hairdo would last her until 5th grade if we let it! :rotfl: And she was right!

Here is Susan showing Aubrey her options of extension colors. There were normal hair colors, brown, blond, red, and then of course, pink. Anyone want to take a stab at which color she chose??? Well see for yourself...

DSC_0495.jpg

OF COURSE she went with the pink! This was going to be good. I was enjoying every single second of this can I tell you! It was great. I was sitting right across from her with my video camera and my regular camera. But there were photopass people all over the place. They took my card and sat it in the tray next to Aubrey. Each time any photographer would pass by and take a pic, they would just pick up our card and scan it. It was a great system and I got some GREAT photopass shots. Probably my most favorite one from the whole trip. But this does bring me to something I need to clear up...

Remember earlier when I said Brendan dropped the camera in Epcot and it broke? Well, obviously that must have been during a later visit to Epcot because clearly here my camera is still working. I guess I'll figure out when exactly it happend when I get to that part of the trip. Just thought I would clear that up for anyone who was confused, like me:confused3

Ok, back to the hair. So she picks the pink hair which I am totally not suprised by at all. Susan had already gotten her hair slicked up into a pretty tight braid so it was now time to add the extension. Here we go. She literally sewed the thing into her hair. It wasn't painful. It just wan't going anywhere for a while!

DSC_0496.jpg

So the pink was in and Susan began teasing, teasing, and more teasing. Then, the nail girl came and started on her nails then makeup. What a diva!!

DSC_0501.jpg

And here we go with even more teasing!!!

DSC_0502.jpg

And now it was time to hold it all together with 3 cans of hairspray. They gave Aubrey a little shield to hold over her face to keep it out of her eyes. Everyone around us was cracking up at her face. LOVE IT!!!

DSC_0507.jpg

She was almost complete. All that was left was a little pixie dust. Susan began whispering in Aubrey's ear. I couldn't hear what she was saying but the expression on Aubrey's face says enough. Whatever it was filled her little heart with magic and I'm sure they were words that she'll never forget. And words that made such a magical experience even more magical. This is when I started to cry. I was sitting there watching my baby girl being transformed into a princess. And she believed every second of it. Susan was wonderful. She made my beautiful baby girl into a beautiful diva princess. Just look at this...

And then the reveal. Look at that face! She was thrilled. The tears came again. From me, not her. It was just such a special moment for her. I was beyond thrilled:cloud9:

Look at that face...

Image0118.jpg

Now check out the video...

I hope I'm not boring you with all of the pictures and videos but I'm telling you, it was an awesome experience. We will definitely be doing it again on our next trip. And hey, I just may splurge for the castle package!

Now, I mentioned before that I had a favorite photopass pic from this session and it really is my fav from the whole trip. I'm going to use it as advertising for my business. Don't know if I ever mentioned this but I am a travel agent and I specialize in Disney Vacations! Yeah, I love my job. Anyway, this pic will be on some kind of advertising material for me. Look how absolutely beautiful...

Image0121.jpg

And here is another fav pic of mine. It's of Aubrey and Susan after they're all done. She was the best I tell ya. The BEST!!!!

DSC_0508.jpg

So after we were done with BBB, it was time to meet back up with daddy. I called him and he was going to come back to the castle to meet up with us. While we waited, I took a few pics of Aubrey with her new makeover. She was just so proud y'all. It was the cutest thing in the whole world and somehow, I had gone from wanting the classic bun to loving the Disney Diva!

DSC_0509.jpg

DSC_0510.jpg

By this time, I could see Jason in the distance but he hadn't seen us yet. I told Aubrey to hide behind the garbage can so she could pop out and suprise daddy. I couldn't wait to see his reaction. And OH how I WISH I would have gotten a picture of it. When Aubrey popped out from behnd that garbage can, I thought Jason was going to pee on himself. He almost fell to his knees laughing which actually kind of upset Aubrey. But he was VERY quick to say that he LOVED it and he wasn't laughing at her. He was just so happy to see how beautiful she was. Nice save dad. She totally bought it and was beaming from ear to ear again! OMG, it was priceless. So many people stopped us and said how cute she was. It was fantastic. I highly recommend it for any of your little princesses out there!

Ok, time to call it a night for me. Up next, jungle cruise and some more special mommy and Aubrey time.

I loved all the pics and videos! What a great experience at BBB! She looks so happy and cute :-) Kind of glad I don't have a girl! BBB is expensive and I know I would be doing it for my daughter! :goodvibes

LOVE your updates!!!

SO funny that your DS got in with the dwarfs! You are right, boys will be boys

His cookie bouquet and Mickey present are to die for! Great job!

LOVE BBB moments!!! We agree in doing the classic princess bun, BUT, I think that Susan did a wonderful job with the pink hair. It looked classic! Your DD seemed SO happy :cloud9: You are right, that photopass pic could be used as an ad for BBB!

Can't wait to hear what other Mommy/Daughter moments you guys have :lovestruc
