WL Flag Family Of The Day pics added! - Birthday Magic and Disney Diva Hair.

HI!!! So happy I found your TR :goodvibes

I live on the Northshore by New Orleans. Who Dat?!

I just love your kid's LSU and Saints shirts. I am dying to know how you made them!

Did you see the new LSU shirts for sale on disneystore.com? They are precious!

Hope you will join my TR too!

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2374556

We stayed at the WL too! Isn't it just amazing! Can't wait to read more about your trip! We are dying to try TRex. Looks amazing (even though it is quite expensive!)

Helloooooo and :welcome: I will have to let you know who the DISigner are that I got the LSU and Saints stuff from. I think it was Windypooh but I'll have to double check. She lives in BR too! Small world!

Ok, I just checked out the LSU shirts at the Disney Store online... I  them!!! I am so going to order those for our next trip! Thanks for sharing that info:thumbsup2

We did love WL. My DH and I kept saying that we felt like we were sitting in our back yard when we were out on our balcony with all of the oak trees. It was very nice.

I will def check out your TR! Thanks for reading along with mine;)

So sorry you didn't get to see Fantasmic! I've yet to see it, but I figure that's one of those things that will keep me coming back b/c there's still things I haven't seen!!!

Looking forward to the Birthday Boy's Big Day!

Well, good news is that we DID end up seeing it later on in the trip. I do love that show. It's not something that we have to see every trip but DD was determined to see Mickey "save the day" again! We probably would have skipped it if it weren't for her!

Birthday day coming soon. Promise!!!

Oh that's terrible about not being able to get into Fantasmic! We weren't interested in seeing it this year and I guess that's a good thing. I would have hated to wait such a long time to see it.

That was such a frustrating night! It wouldn't have been so bad if we could have ridden something else. Anything else! It was just a crazy night in DHS!!!

Hi! Fellow Louisianian here...GEAUX SAINTS! I live in Mandeville. I am enjoying your TR so much and can't wait to see how you decorated the room for Brendan's birthday. We are going at the end of June (can you say HOT) for my dd's 7th birthday so I need ideas. Oh the things we do for our kids...

Hey there... GEAUX SAINTS!!! Glad you are enjoying the TR! I'm am having a blast writing it! You are brave for going in June but at least we're used to that kind of heat! It will be great celebrating your dd's bday there. You'll have to see all of the fun things we did for DS's day. Even though the crowds were higher than we're used to, it was all worth it:thumbsup2

I can't believe how disappointing that night was. I hope that was the last of those kind of crowds you encountered. Do you plan using tourguide mike? I always plan according to his crowd calendar. I love the picture of Aubrey in the grass.

That was definitely the worst of the crowds. I don't know what the deal was:confused3 I did look at the crowd calendar and it all said 7's and 8's so I knew we were in for some craziness but we definitely made the most of it. This night was just not a good one but the rest of the trip was GREAT!!!

How are you doing?? Maybe with summer coming up, we can finially meet up in person! Maybe a playdate?? How far away are you from Gonzales? There is a fun sprayground there that we like to go to. We'll have to think of something!

Ok people, I am in the process of uploading 79 pictures from Brendan's birthday day:scared1: It is going to take me forever to get through posting about this day! But all of the pics will be worth it, I promise:) It was a great day. So, as soon as Photobucket is done uploading, I will get to postin':lmao:

While I'm waiting for my photos to upload (it's on 35 of 79:scared1:) I made my new countdown ticker! I've been meaning to do that. Now that I see it in writing, I'm getting soooooo excited to be back at Disney for the holiday season. If you have not had the chance to go at this time, you really should try to do it at least once. We are going 12/1 - 12/6. It's going to be great with no crowds!!! Ok, going to check PB now...

Ok, I think we're ready. Hold onto your seats, here comes Brendan's birthday!!!

I should also mention, if I haven't already, that we also call Brendan "Bobo" so if I happen to type that name instead of Brendan you'll know who I'm talking about. Not sure if I've done that yet but I have a habbit of it so just wanted to let you know his little nickname....

Alrighty, so after our oh so eventful night at DHS, we were happy to get home and sleep. Actually, both kids ended up falling asleep on the buses on the way home that night. They were exhausted and just as frustrated as we were about the whole Fantasmic fiasco! We all got a good night's sleep and woke up ready to start the day!

Brendan woke up first, as usual. He was so excited to see his decorations though he wasn't sure what it was all about...

DSC_0180.jpg

We hung streamers and balloons all over the room. And yes, he is in the shirt that he wore the day before. He was sound asleep when we got back to the hotel so I just let him stay in it. Oh well:rolleyes1

Here's another pic of the decorations...

DSC_0457.jpg

We did the same thing for Aubrey's birthday trip back in September of '08 and it was so cute! Another thing that we did for her and we did for Brendan this time was birthday cards. I had been collecting birthday cards with different characters for him for a few months. I signed each card as the character (yes, I forged their signatures) and the plan was to hide them throughout the day so that Brendan could "find" them. He and Aubrey both really got a kick out of this. So here he is opening his first card. Aubrey was still sleeping at this point so she missed out on this one...

DSC_0182.jpg

DSC_0185-1.jpg

Look how excited he was! So freaking cute! Anyway, after we got him up and going, it was time to have our morning coffee on the balcony. Here are a few pics. It was just so peaceful and relaxing. One of the villas next to us must have been doing some laundry because steam was coming out of their vent and it smelled like Downy! It made such a pretty fog with the sun coming up. I tried to get a good pic but it just doesn't do it justice. It was beautiful...

DSC_0190.jpg

Here is a shot of the building and all the balconies. I just thought this was a cool looking picture...

DSC_0191-1.jpg

After coffee, everyone got up and moving and we were ready to go. We had an ADR for Chef Mickey's at 9:30. I knew that the Contemporary was very close to us but we wanted to take a cab there just to make sure we made it on time. I hate relying on the buses or boats when you have to be somewhere for a certain time! And since it was just around the corner, I knew that the charge wouldn't be that much. I think it ended up being like $7. Well worth it for the peace of mind:thumbsup2 So here are me and Aubrey waiting for our cab...

DSC_0198-1.jpg

We made it over to CM in plenty of time. I checked us in and we went to sit in the little waiting area. And what do you know, there was a birthday card there magically waiting for Brendan! Here they are finding it...

DSC_0204.jpg

And here is Brendan tearing into it!

DSC_0206.jpg

We didn't have to wait long at all before our little buzzer went off. Brendan was in charge of the buzzer. Here he is pretending it was a phone. The child turns anything into a phone:rotfl:

DSC_0210.jpg

You can also get a good look at his shirt in this pic. Another wonderful DISigner made this graphic for me. I love it! We made one for Aubrey that said the same thing but it was pink with Tinkerbell. I still have it. I love how Brendan's came out. Here is a shot that I got of the back...

DSC_0231.jpg

I wanted to make sure everyone knew that today was his very special day. And they did! He got happy birthdays all day long! He felt so special!

Our buzzer went off and we were seated a little early:thumbsup2 We took our picture first and it turned out really cute. But not cute enough for me to buy. Plus we already have one from our '08 trip. Anywho, we made it over to our table. It was a great spot. We were close to the bar and right in the middle so we could see the characters coming and had a little time to prepare. Character meals are just so stressful to me. I've got the camera trying to get the perfect shots, Jason's got the video camera trying to get their reactions, and then you have to remember to get their autographs, and oh yeah, the food. We have to remember to feed the kids!... Uhhhh, it really can get out of control! This meal went really well. The characters came out at a good pace so we actually got to eat a little and not feel like we were stuffing our faces! And the people that were sitting around us were really nice. They kept playing with the kids and wishing Bobo a happy birthday. It was just a good group of people. Mickey passed by first, but not for his official greeting. I think he was on his way to the back but he stopped anyway to tell Brendan happy birthday...

DSC_0214.jpg

We actually got to see Mickey 3 different times during this meal. Wow, were we lucky:thumbsup2 Up first was Donald. On our last trip Brendan was so funny. Every time he saw Donald, he would yell "Hey Duck!" It was so cute. This time he actually got the name right and called him Donald. Here he is with my babies...

DSC_0218.jpg

Then there was Goofy...

DSC_0224.jpg

And Minnie...

DSC_0238.jpg

And Pluto...

DSC_0235.jpg

So, this is NOT the first autograph that we have gotten from Pluto. As most of you probably know, he has to put whatever he is signing up ontop of his nose so he can see! Right?! For some strange reason, this was the first time that DH had ever noticed this:rolleyes: I mean, oblivious much? Please look at his reaction...

DSC_0236.jpg

I really had no idea what he was reacting to until he told me. I was like, "seriously? you've really never noticed that before?" Oh my sweet sweet DH. He's in his own little world most of the time.

Then it was time for the man himself to make rounds. Here he is...

DSC_0244-1.jpg

DSC_0247.jpg

And here is what Jason was doing with his leftover food. I swear to you I have 3 children. One of them just happens to be my 33 year old husband!!!

DSC_0232.jpg

Then it was time to do the celebrate dance. Our waitress was so great. She came out before they started the song and announced to everyone around us that it was Brendan's birthday. The music started and everyone started to clap and dance. I know that they do this all the time but Brendan thought it was all for him which made me smile. He felt soooo special! For his birthday, I decided to order him a special little cake. I know, I know. This was breakfast but hey, where else and when else can you eat cake for breakfast - at Disney World for your Birthday!!! Mickey brought it out to Brendan himself! I love this pic!!!

DSC_0260-1.jpg

Here he is blowing out his candles...

DSC_0261.jpg

And here is Aubrey in the background dancing her little heart out...

DSC_0255.jpg

Then Donald came by and started dancing with her. She was thrilled...

DSC_0251.jpg

Here is a shot of the cake before the kids dug in. It was just a simple yellow cake with sprinkles but it was in a treasure chest. Brendan just thought it was the coolest thing ever!

DSC_0264-1.jpg

And here they are digging in!

DSC_0269.jpg

At least he was willing to share his cake with his sister! I was so proud:love:

I love it, you did such a nice job making Brendan's birthday special. I would love to do that for Grace but her birthday is June 27th and I wouldn't dare go to Disney World at that time of year. The treasure chest cake was soooooooo cute.

I would love to get together with you over the summer and go to the little park in Gonzalas you talked about.

What an amazing start to Brendan's birthday!!! I absolutely LOVE the idea of hiding cards all day long. We are going to be in WDW for my son's bday this year (if not a week after) and my daughter's during the summer. I am going to steal your idea :goodvibes

GREAT breakfast at Chef Mickey's! I love the cake that you ordered him. My son would love it (he loves pirate stuff). Do you know if they do that at other restaurants?

I can't wait to hear about the rest of your day popcorn::

i missed a couple of updates!!! What a cute idea about hiding the cards!!! And I love the little cake. i was going to order a cake at 1900 PF for Aisling's 6th bday but decided to do the WISHES dessert party instead. Wish we had gotten the cake :sad2:

Obviously you know I love the pics!

I'm so sorry about Fantasmic. Aisling has never seen it in all our trips. When they changed it from nightly to a couple of times a week- it just never seems to work out in our schedule. However, I'm never too upset about her missing it because the bottlenecks after that show are awful.

Congrats on the weight loss!!! That's amazing. My "one month until WDW" panic diet starts tomorrow. Bye Bye carbs until we meet again in Florida :rotfl2:

I just found your trip report and am on the edge of my seat. You and your family are all gorgeous and the entire report so far seems so magical! I can't wait for the updates. TFS!

That's so funny that you say that about Grace's birthday. We kept telling Brendan to enjoy this birthday trip because it's probably not ever going to happen again! We told him that from now on he'd be celebrating his half birthday with Aubrey in September because of the crowds:rotfl:

It was a great birthday for him! I love the card idea too. I would be happy for you to do the same thing. I'm flattered;) The kids really loved it. If they were just a little older, it probably would have meant more to them - seeing the character's autographs and stuff. I forgot to mention that for the Cars card, I knew they didn't have any signatures. Instead, I rolled one of Brendan's cars through paint and made track marks for the signature. It came out soooo cute! He didn't even notice:sad2: But then again, he is only 3! It was a lot of fun.

The pirate cake is available lots of places. You can probably get it at most character meals, though I don't know for sure. Just call Disney dining and they should be able to tell you. It only cost $15 which I thought was a pretty good deal for Disney:thumbsup2

What a great birthday breakfast! I love the cake!

My DD does the exact same thing!

I could totally see my DH or my 9 year old doing the same thing. :rotfl:

Yeah, but that's one of the reasons DH and I are meant to be together... we are just two big kids!:lmao:

Yeah, having to work your trip around Fantasmic is a pain. We usually don't stress about it but Aubrey was so looking forward to it. So what's up with the Wishes dessert party? It wasn't good? Bummer!

Can I tell you how many times I've been on "The Disney Diet"?!? I should write a book! And then you let it all go when you get to Disney. But I do have to say from previous experience, I rarely gain weight in Disney because of all of the walking that I do. It all balances out!

I just found your trip report and am on the edge of my seat. You and your family are all gorgeous and the entire report so far seems so magical! I can't wait for the updates. TFS!

Wow, thank you so much! You just made my night! So glad you are reading along. I'm going to try and get a post in tonigh. Stay tuned:surfweb: :)

WOW! Only $15 for that cake is an amazing deal! I will have to look into that for sure! I do not know if we will really be there for his actual bday, but we may only miss it by a day or 2. Thinking of making one of our vacation days his "birthday" to celebrate. Do you know what other people do about that?

LOVE the car idea!! My son is obsessed with Lightning. He would love that :lovestruc (if he notices! ha. He will be 3 too).

We finished up at Chef Mickey's and were all so excited to start our day. This was really the BEST character meal we've ever done. The kids were good and had a blast and the cake thing was just the icing on, er, the cake! LOL

So from there our plan was to head over to Epcot. So many people say that Epcot is no fun for kids and they sometimes skip the park altogether when traveling with little ones. I know it's not the most "kid friendly" park, but there really is tons to do there for everyone. We were looking forward to seeing all of the flowers and topiaries because the Flower and Garden Festival was going on. We've actually been to Disney two other times during this festival and it's always breathtaking! Here are some of the beautiful topiaries that greeted us when we got there...

DSC_0273-1.jpg

DSC_0274.jpg

Jason ran ahead with Brendan to get FP's for Soarin' our all time favorite ride! Aubrey was tall enough to ride it last trip and we were pretty sure Brendan would make the cut this time. It would be our first time on it as a family. I was so excited, and so was Aubrey. She remembered the ride and the orange smells! While daddy was getting our FP's, Aubrey and I headed over to Nemo. Here is a picture of Aubrey while we were waiting for dad and brother. You can see how many beautiful flowers there were everywhere! It's truly unbelievable!

DSC_0279.jpg

The boys made their way to us and I tried to get the same cute picture of Brendan in the flowers. He was not having any of that! I would not normally post a picture of the back of his head, but I must point out what he has in his hand...

DSC_0302.jpg

It's his tube of quarters. Remember how I said before that once he found it, he wouldn't let anyone hold it or take any change out of it?? Well, he was still holding onto it and it makes an appearance in lots of the pictures. So funny!

And here is Aubrey posing with Nemo...

DSC_0286-1.jpg

I also got a cool shot of the monorail infront of Spaceship Earth. I love trying to catch the monorail in cool shots. Ok, so funny story here. I had noticed on our first monorail ride that i was painted blue. I didn't read what was on it, I just noticed that the color seemed different. A friend of mine texted me later and told me to look for the new "Tron" monorail and try to get a picture of it. Aparantly, Disney had one of the monorails painted for the 10th anniversary of Tron. I didn't see what the big deal was with Tron, but whatev. So, I realized that that must have been the monorail we were riding on. For the rest of the trip, I kept trying to get a picture of it for her. I would either see 10 regular monorails in a row with no Tron or when the Tron one passes, I didn't have my camera ready! So, when we got home and I was going through our pictures, I noticed this shot that I took outside of Nemo...

DSC_0276.jpg

Yep, that would be the Tron monorail! How freaking funny is that! The whole time I was looking for the thing and all along, I already had a picture. LOLOLOL!!

We got through the line pretty quicklly and the kids loved it. I love this ride too. I think it's amazing how they put Nemo and the gang in the actual fish tanks! What a brilliant idea! Gotta love Disney imagineers!!! We hung around for a while after the ride. The kids had fun in the little play area. Here is Brendan looking through the periscope. Isn't that what this thing is called?? We had never taken the time to look in them before and it was pretty cool. There were live sharks! Which was really some kind of little video but it still looked real and the kids thought it was way cool...

DSC_0292.jpg

DSC_0294.jpg

This is one of those things that we took a minute to notice. So many times we are rushing from one place to another and not taking a moment to enjoy the little things. That was what this whole trip was about. The kids played here for a while then it was time to move on, but not before I was able to get a pic of Aubrey with this guy...

DSC_0299-1.jpg

It was so funny because Aubrey was aparantly standing in line to get in Bruce's mouth. I didn't even know that's what she was doing until I heard her calling for me from across the room. I turned around and there she was, in waiting to have her picture taken! LOL She had asked another mom to help her up! She was determined, I guess!

From there we made our way over to Figment. This poor ride gets such a bad wrap. We haven't done it in so long because I just keep hearing how boring it is. Well, let me just tell you... My kids LOVED it! Aubrey still talks about "Fig-a-ment" Here are daddy and Aubrey...

DSC_0309.jpg

We hung around in the imagination lab afterwards and the kids loved this too. Here they are "conducting"... Please make sure to notice Brendan's pressed penny tube...

DSC_0311.jpg

And here they are dancing around on the instruments. When you stepped on the picture of the instrument, it would play that sound. I was dancing around on them too. Pretty cool! Again, notice what is in his hand...

DSC_0315.jpg

On our way out of the ride, we had to stop and watch the jumping water. This is so cool. I remember going on my first Disney trip in highschool with our youth group and these fountains are one of the things that I remember most. I took about 30 pictures of the water jumping around. Don't worry, I'll only share one of them with you:rotfl:

DSC_0321.jpg

We had had a busy moring already and it was time for a treat. We headed over to one of Epcot's best kept secrets, Club Cool! Well, I guess it's not really a secret at all but there never seems to be a crowd in there! We LOVE going in there and tasting all the yummy Coke products from around the world. And then there is the Beverly. Oh Beverly, how I love thee. I don't want to spoil it too much for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about. But for those of you who do, here are our obligatory Beverly pics. First up, Aubrey...

DSC_0326.jpg

And then daddy...

DSC_0327.jpg

OMG... I LOVE Beverly pictures! In fact, let me go back and see if I can find some more...

And I'm sure I have more of these. It's a tradition. And it just NEVER gets old:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Oh, here's another one. It's of my sister from our May 2009 trip. She would KILL me if she knew I was posting this. Don't tell...

LOVE the car idea!! My son is obsessed with Lightning. He would love that :lovestruc (if he notices! ha. He will be 3 too).

We've celebrating 2 birthdays there and no one has ever asked us if it was their actual birthday. And it was kind of a big deal because the kids were going from free to not free (2 to 3) during the course of our trip. I was so worried that we would have to buy them a ticket if anyone were to question their "I'm 3 Today!" tshirts, but no one ever did. So, I think you would be totally safe with celebrating a few days early. And I was not kidding when I wrote in an earlier post that we will be celebrating Brendan's half birthday from now on in September when we go for Aubrey because of the crowds! Here is a link to the cake. Scroll down a bit. It's called the "My Mini Suprise Cake"

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/celebrations/customizations/

I have to tell you, I am gettting so many good ideas from you. Thanks again for sharing all this. We had skipped figment last year because it was rumored to be boring, but your pictures look like it was a blast, and now Im sorry we missed it! Great pictures all together, you guys just seem like such a fun family!

I love the update but you have me hanging............... I want to know if Brendan was tall enough for Soaring. popcorn::

Thanks for the updates. I love all the pics. Brendan is too funny with his pressed penny tube. I made one for my DD7 too but I think she will do the same thing. She keeps telling me she can't spend her money because she is saving for college. :lmao: Thanks for posting the flower festival pics as well. We leave in 4 days so I can't wait to see them all in person. I'm so glad you liked CM. We have a ressie there and have seen a lot of bad reviews. Thanks again for your wonderful TR.

Oh what a wonderful breakfast the birthday boy had! So glad that it was so special for you guys!!!!! :goodvibes

Looks like you guys are having a good day at Epcot so far. I'm loving the Beverly pics! :lmao:

I'm glad I am inspiring you! I have to say that lots of my ideas come straight from here on the DIS, but the birthday card thing was mine;) Figment really was fun! I mean, it was new for the kids so really anything new is going to be great to them. But they had a blast afterwards playing in the lab. We'll definitely do it again next trip:) Thanks for the compliment. We try to live life to the fullest! It's a hard balance saving for tomorrow but living for today. We try to do it all!!!!!

I love the update but you have me hanging............... I want to know if Brendan was tall enough for Soaring. popcorn::

Hahahaha! Sorry! I didn't intend to leave you hanging but now that you said it, I guess I'll have to make you wait for my update... which will be very soon. Don't worry:yay:

He just wouldn't let go of it! He's so into coins these days. And everything is a penny! So funny:) The flower fest was great. And there seemed to be a lot more interactive things to do this time. There were two really cool play areas. One near the entrance to the world showcase in the Fairy gardens and then another right next to France. It was nice to sit back and watch the kids play while enjoying a nice cool French cocktail:thumbsup2

I'm suprised to hear that there are bad reviews out there about CM. I've never looked for them so I just didn't know people didn't like it. I've always had a good experience there and we've done it probably 4 times now. Oh well, I certainly give it two thumbs up! Have fun!!

Oh what a wonderful breakfast the birthday boy had! So glad that it was so special for you guys!!!!! :goodvibes

Looks like you guys are having a good day at Epcot so far. I'm loving the Beverly pics! :lmao:

The breakfast was great! The entire day was wonderful actually. And I'm glad you liked the Beverly pics. It's so funny to scroll through them when I have them posted back to back like that. So many funny memories in that place. and not just of my family. We always seem to be able to find some poor bystander and sucker them into taking a big ole gulp of the stuff. Their reactions never get old. Never I tell you!!! LOLOLOLOLOL

After Fig-a-ment, it was time for us to go use our Soarin' FP's:cool1: We couldnt wait. God bless Fastpass. I don't even remember what the stand by wait time was but it was rediculous. Poor people who choose to wait in those lines. We walked up to the CM and handed him our tickets. He of course stops Brendan and tells him to stand under the little measurer. Can I tell you that he literally made it by a hair! They let him through. Wooo hooo!!! So, we made it down the long blue hallway to our loading area. The video came on and Brendan was getting so excited. We tried to explain it to him and he thought we were going flying. I couldn't wait to see his reaction. And for some reason I have no pictures at all from this adventure. I guess I kep the camera safe in my bag since I knew I couldn't carry it on the ride. So we get all buckled in and off we went. I was sitting next to Brendan, he was next to Aubrey and she was next to Jason. I think I watched their faces more than the ride. They were in awe. Brendan loved all of it except for..... you guessed it, the fireworks at the end. But he got over it quicky when Tink showed up. It was a great ride and I can't wait to do it again with them in December!!!

Now it was time for lunch and I was craving something healthy. We headed over to Sunshine Stations. I had never eaten here before but had heard great things. And they were right! This place had all kinds of things. I had a yummy turkey sandwich, Jason had a chicken salad, and the kids had mac n cheese and salads. Yes, my kids love salads. We had a good time sitting there eating our lunch until Brendan decided he wanted to play with the camcorder and then dropped it on the very hard floor. I didn't check it right away but I would find out later in the trip that it was broken. It wouldn't focus or zoom:mad:Ahh, gotta love little boys and their little hands!!

After lunch, we wanted to make our way towards the world showcase - our favorite part of disney world! Before we did that, we took a detour through the butterfly garden. This is so cool and it's been there every year that we've been. You walk through an enclosed area and there are butterflies everywhere!

Well, I thought I had more pictures of the butterflies but I guess not. That is Aubrey trying to catch a butterfly:scared1:I 'm sure that would have gone over well if she actually were able to catch one!

After the butterfly garden, we came upon the Pixie Hollow Fairy Garden. Aubrey LOVED seeing all of the faries!

We had seen the fairy garden before on a previous trip but we were suprised to find that there was a play area hidden in the back. The kids had a ball running around!

There was no shade which was good because it was a bit chilly. I just kept thinking what if this was June. I would be DYING right about now:scared1:

And here is Brendan going through a bamboo tunnel...

Power running low on my laptop, and on my brain too! I need to go to sleep. More tomorrow!!!
