Morning all!!!
Carrie-- Sorry about not stopping by.
I ended up about 45 minutes south of you, if that makes you feel any better.
Judy-- Awesome job on the improptu 5K. I would have taken off too.
Dave-- Glad to hear you had such a wonderful trip!
Michael-- Like Colleen and Carrie, my very first thought was your shoes. Running shoes are far better for both walking and running than a crosstrainer will be, generally speaking. They tend to be a bit harder-wearing and better in terms of shock-absorption. If you happen to be built a little bigger than the average "runner" frame, that goes double. Make sure you ice down your knees for now and then see if it persists. If it does, get thee to a running store and see about getting fitted for some new shoes. (Just my .02, of course.
)
Today is a crosstraining day for me-- weights and cardio at the gym. (Does sitting in my swealtering office count as crosstraining to??) Tomorrow I am supposed to do another run, but we will see. I'm playing in a golf outing and have a 7:30am tee time
so that means a morning run is probably out and I am volunteering during the afternoon groups, so I think an evening run might be out too.... play it by ear, I guess. Thankfully it looks like the weather will become markedly more comfortable as the week progresses, so a weekend long run might be in order.
Happy training!
