Good Morning TEAM:
OK, I need to save my anniversary trip report for my next post, but suffice it to say we had a wonderful time!!! Some running news for me - I broke down and bought new shoes on Saturday. My running store recommended the New Balance 1060s. They offer some more cushioning than my Asics Cumulus, and they are support to have a little more support too. They feel pretty good right now, and I'm really hoping they help with my shin splints. I wogged in them in Niagara Falls. I did 4 miles along the Niagara Parkway in ~60 min/15 mpm pace. I did lots of stops to look at sights (I'll tell you why I was running alone and left my wife alone in my trip report). I also ran yesterday when I got home from work. OMG!!! It was 95 degrees!!!

I struggled through 3 miles in 10:45mpm pace. The shoes felt pretty good though.
OK, I have a lot to catch up on. Let me start:
Congratulations
Jodi on your 10K!!!

67 minutes is nothing to sneeze at, and it does sound like it was really hot on the course. You've come a long way. I'd love to see pictures if you have them.
Amy- great job on your 8 mile long run. Your training has really, really come along. You're doing super!
Howard- Wow,
8:47 pace for your 5 miler!! Whew, you are

. I'm impressed. WTG

And that's really cool we both lived in Plum for a while. I was born in California and we moved to Plum around 1971. I graduated from Plum High in 1986, and then went to Pitt. I had lots of friends that went to PSUNK. Did Cam go there too?
Monte/Monica- Hey, great job on your 10k

! I didn't know you were running the Bolder Boulder. Wow, I've heard about that race for a long time. It always sounded like a fun one. Good for you!!!
Carrie- Sounds like the Mackinac Bridge run was a lot of fun. Glad you didn't get blown off.

I can't help you with the Garmin questions. Mine's been wigging out lately too. I think the leafy trees are really blocking the GPS signals. Fortunately most of my routes I already have figured out. If there's a WISH meet up next year on the bridge, I might have to come out!!!
Judy- sounds like you had a great race!!! Good for you. You had a real breakthrough. You started with the chit-chat walkers, realized that wasn't for you, brokeaway, set your own pace, and had a great time. Good for you!!! I loved your race report.
Kim- thanks for stopping by and posting. Keep on putting those steps in.
Dena- Thanks for posting the confession. I know that is really tough to come to terms with. It does sound like you are in a rut with your training, but put your past behind you (from the Lion King

), don't worry about what you have or have not done, and just put some steps in (as Lily would say). Try not to think about what your fitness level was before you stopped. You know the Garmin did really help me with my training. I like being able to go out the door anywhere and know how far I've run. I appreciate the $$ issues though. We certainly have those too. Maybe you can just go to a park, find somewhere new, and do some nice easy walks in a new place. Get the steps in, and get some enjoyment back in your training. Good Luck Dena!!! And don't you leave us!
Christa- great job on your training. I'm impressed you can go out on a Friday and pound out 10 miles at 9 mpm pace. You're pretty speedy out there yourself!!!
Sara- good luck with your 5K this weekend.
Kevin- good for you for getting your 5K training run in a 9:45 mpm pace. At least you got the steps in, right?
Lily
Welcome Back! I'll have to go over and read your trip report. I hope you had a great trip. Just in case you missed it while you were gone. I'm official!!! I signed up and sent my money in for the 2007 WDW Full Marathon. This is due in large part to you. So I'll see you in January!
Michael- I wish I could help you. Good luck with the knee pain. I'll send you some PD though.
Jackie- Welcome back!!! Thanks for posting. I'm so glad you had a good run. Good for you.

Congrats on the Garmin. Have fun with it!!!
Erik- good luck on the JPMCCC tomorrow! We're supposed to have 10,000 runners at our race tomorrow night. I know that's nothing compared to your race, but I hope you have fun. I'll be right there with you across the pond.
