Wk of May 11 - WISH Walking/Running Club

DISCLAIMER: PLEASE CONSULT YOUR PHYSICIAN (PREFERRABLY A SHRINK) BEFORE ATTEMPTING THIS TRAINING SCHEDULE: :lmao: :rotfl2:  :rotfl:

Yep Duckie, 10 miles at this point in time for the Honolulu Marathon training schedule (see below). I run 6-8 miles Tuesday's & Thursday's, including hill runs, and sand runs. In August I add in a slow light jog 2-3 miles on Saturday's.

Cross training includes stationary bike for 1 hour once or twice a week. I even rode my bike to work today (3 miles each way from my Princess #2's preschool). Hiking on weekends with the Queen and Princesses, weather permitting.

Sunday long, slow, distance (LSD)
10 miles May
12 miles June (Hibiscus Half Marathon)
14 miles July
16 miles August (Disneyland Half Marathon)
18 miles September
20 miles October (Niketown 30K; plus one long run of 22 miles)
18 miles November (taper after the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day)
December 14 Honolulu Marathon

This was my training schedule for the 2008 Goofy and a Half Challenge.

For further understanding on how I'm a running nut, click on my blogspot below my signature line.

That is an amazing program, Jeff. I love this team because I get to hang out with athletes. :goodvibes

You would have been amused by my attempts to run to the "purple sign" and the arm flapping to slow down back to a walk during the Minnie....

I am amazed by your dedication. I can always hear the sofa calling me to come back!

:welcome: to all of our new folks! Glad you have joined us!

I did 4 miles today. Looking forward to running at POR on Wed though :)

AmyBeth...I got Pilates for Dummies (book) for Mother's Day. I'm going to need LOTS of help. I went to Tarjay and bought my new friend, Mat, today...and some weird little pillow thing for my neck.

Everything's so exciting around here these days...new babies, college graduations, weddings, vow renewals! Congrats to everyone!

Wow....I've been a bit remiss in posting here. I have to admit that my training has been on hold since I returned from the Minnie. But I'm ready to start fresh again and need to jump in here with my fellow Wish Warriors. Let's see if I can TRY to catch up...

Krista: Happy Belated Mother's Day. :goodvibes What's the baby's birth date again? Sounds like Carter might be arriving the same time as my Kayleigh arrived. I know the summer is going to be tough to get through with the heat...but you'll be just fine :). I think your training plan sounds GREAT for post-baby!!!

Allie: Congrats on a great pre-10K run! You are going to do fantastic in the race!!! And we will certainly all be cheering you on from afar!

Frank: Way cool about running through the zoo!!! Now that's a definite rave run!!! :thumbsup2

Bride Michelle: How did the Pilates go???? I hope you and your mom enjoyed it!!! If you have any questions please fire away...you can PM me if you want or visit the Core thread as I check that regularly. As for Winsor Pilates...those tapes are totally fine if not a little challenging for beginners. My only concern about them is that they *can* be tough for those unfamiliar with pilates but overall it's a good method and is true to pilates form!

Morgan:  take care of that back..don't push through any injuries (trust me). Just see what the doctor says and go forward from there! Please do let us all know how you are feeling!!!!

Rich: Congrats on an amazing story...sounds like you've had much success with running!!! :)

Judy: Welcome back and HUGE congrats to Charley for his smokin' fast time and 4th place in the Minnie!!!! He passed me at mile 3 and was moving FAST. I couldn't keep up with him if I tried. Tell him we're all proud of his outstanding effort! :goodvibes

MSDave: HOW COOL that you have a conference in Orlando! Enjoy the time in FLA! Sorry to hear about your tough 6 miler...sounds EXACTLY like the experience I had at the Minnie. Legs were sooo sluggish. Some days are just like that and nothing we can do :(. Here's hoping your next run is awesome!

AlohaJeff: Your pasta sounds YUMMY! Can ya' tell I'm hungry tonight. Wow...what a training plan you have there. Are those mileage numbers the LSRs that you do each sunday of that month? Cool plan there. I like the idea of throwing in the easy low mileage run on Saturday.

Joan: I know what you mean about the races...I need motivation myself right now. Hop on RunningintheUSA.com and find yourself a fun local race :).

Karen: WOW...little baby on the way :). It was such a pleasure to meet you and John at the Minnie. THANK YOU for all the work on the steering committee!!! Much appreciated!

Duckie: Hey girl :). I had a recovery week too ;). Not such a bad thing every once in a while! So do you have any NJ races planned???

Shan:  I know the surgery will be tough but I think it's going to be such a positive overall experience for you! I think you were smart to plan it now while your legs recover from injury!

PandaDave: I try to post on the main Wish thread when I see something I can offer :). Hopefully we'll see more cross-overs as it's such a welcoming enivironment here. Thanks for being such an ambassador of good will dave! :flower3:

Mel: Ahhhh Mat...I know Mat well ;). Anyway....ask any questions here, via pm or on the core thread. I'm happy to help in any way. I hope you find pilates enjoyable...or at least tolerable LOL!

Debra: Hey there girl :). Wow..I was surprised at what happened at the Race for the Cure :sad2: . That's too bad because it's such an awesome cause...it should maintain its integrity better by enforcing rules and keeping the environement friendly for everyone. I am glad that you guys didn't get totally drenched during the race though...some good luck in that department! :goodvibes I can't believe you guys are running Cleveland...that race was on our short list...I'm really looking forward to a detailed race report from you LOL!

Scotty: Well...you didn't take any recovery time after Minnie did you? :confused3 43 miles biking and a 9 mile run all in the span of 3 days. Geesh..you're making me look REALLY bad and feel REALLY guilty. Seriously though...awesome job jumping right back into training. I'm in awe...:worship: . You are one tough bunny.

As for me....I've formulated my newest running plan (I've always got a new plan). Anyway...my new plan is simple. VERY simple. Run twice during the week between 45-60 minutes (yep..run time not distance) and run one LSD run on the weekend of 8 Miles for the next 6 weeks or so then increase to 10 miles for a good month then up it to 12 for a while. I want to build my running base slowly. I may also occasionally throw in a 4th day of running but that wouldn't be my base week. In addition I'll be teaching spin class twice per week...I'd like to add a long road bike session on Saturday...so there's some solid cardio XT. Also...I plan to take 3 core classes (pilates or yoga) in addition to my teaching schedule. It sounds a little crazy but I think it's doable if I maintain a lot of flexibility. I've dropped several classes out of my schedule for the summer months beginning in June so I'll only be teaching 6 classes per week for the foreseeable future. My goal...which is most important...is to quit focusing on my pace for each training run and instead focus on how I feel. I'll insert walk breaks on tough days...I'll pick up the pace a bit on days when I feel great...but overall I just want to ENJOY the run. That's my only goal. I just want to Enjoy it :). I've lost that fun in my run...and I want it back. OK..that was WAY too much about me. Sorry! :sunny:

...I have been hanging out over at the main section of WISH for a bit since Lily mentioned that it would be nice if we got to know each other better. It's finding them a pretty hard nut to crack, I guess I haven't learned the language over there yet.

I did notice that someone had done a post that they were new and the only one who responded was the Moderator, OhMom. Over here a new person is welcomed by everyone who sees their post.

I welcomed them and invited them over for coffee at the Events section.
Walking Panda:hippie:
WWDave, yup, most of the folks on the Main WISH are focused into their own threads there and don't always come up for a look see. This side always has folks checking out each other. You know the competiveness we always want to figure who's got a line on something. Thanks for keeping at it. I still think it makes a difference even if it is only a few of us responding. Thank you for sticking with it.

Karen and John, seems like we'll be hearing of a new one soon. Looking forward to hearing the great news.

Amy, sounds like a good plan you've got going there.

Duckie, don't you let Jeff and his being the machine make you feel bad. I love your description of running to the purple sign. Good job!

Jeff, whew! I'm tired just reading your schedule. I may have to take off a few more days to get over my exhaustion.

Today I took out Kirby dog and we strolled for about 2.5 miles in about an hour. Cold and started to drizzle just as we got into the car to come home.

Sleep well all!

AlohaJeff: Are those mileage numbers the LSRs that you do each sunday of that month? Cool plan there. I like the idea of throwing in the easy low mileage run on Saturday.

AmyB: I forgot to write I do 8 miles for the months of March and April, on the list you read. (I went back to edit my post).

Every Sunday except three day weekends, rain or shine our clinic meets at 7:30 am. That's what our group runs for intermediates.

The weekday stuff is what we affectionately call "homework." :rotfl:

Bill, Lynnda...you guys ok over there? Looks a bit toasty on your side of the state. One of our news dudes was broadcasting from the brushfires in Palm Bay.

Chris: Congrats on doing your 5 miles, even if it was inside on the TM.

Jen: What a great Mother's Day weekend, at least in terms of DD's behavior. Too bad about the cold, but I think the family time seemed almost perfect. And I'm so glad you got the opportunity to run in the campground, as it seems to have broken your burnout. It sounds like you're recharged for your upcoming 1/2!

Jackie: Woo hoo for the new shoes, you certainly deserve them, especially with a 20% discount, a typical teenager in the house, and DH's unplanned work. I hope the shoes were one of the highlights of your Mother's Day.

Tracy: Well, it sounds like you're just having a good time right now exploring all the possible directions your racewalking could take you. I didn't mean to put pressure on you to define yourself, so I hope you didn't take it that way. I was just impressed with how far you've come in the sport and how quickly, and wondered if these last few races had given you a sense of your goals.

Amykab: Congrats on getting back in the TM--and I think the DL 1/2 is one heck of a motivator.

sailors_wfe: Welcome! :welcome: There are a lot of us here who did C25K or are currently doing it. (And there's a C25K thread on the main WISH forum for those moving through it.) It sounds like you have a good fitness base and are building an even better one. I think the Princess half might be a good race for you--and it's the inaugural. You could do the January Half, but it would be through a charity group or Anthony Travel. As far as training, I :worship: to FireDancer/Frank's comprehensive reply!

Jim B.: Thanks for the wise words about hydration. I think that's so important for all of us to remember as late spring/summer race season ramps up.

Leana: I just have to add :thumbsup2 to what your DBF said. You're a pretty incredible athlete!

Aloha Jeff: Thanks for the reminder about National Ride Your Bike to Work week. I'm hoping, maybe predicting, a lot of people will participate this year. Gas is hovering at $4.00/gallon here, with no signs of stopping. Your commute from DD's school to work sounds about perfect; the reverse route, not so much. Your Sunday plans sounded absolutely idyllic, and a great way for the Queen to spend her Mother's Day. It's always good to be cooked for. Plus, the meal sounds like it worked out pretty well for you, too! You both earned it!

Thanks for breaking down your training--it's pretty intense, but I'm filing the information away for me for Goofy 2010. Of course, I'll probably forget the details by then but remember I can always ask (bother) you about what you've done. Um, right?

Cam: Okay, so I think you should call the buying the reception shoes a success! You have to build up your endurance to actually try on and commit to the girly shoes, right? You're doing so well with C25K that it's no wonder you're looking forward to W4D2! :woohoo:

Rich: Wow, what a great background story. Welcome back, and I look forward to hearing more about your training and progress. I'll be the the Cleveland 1/2, wearing WISH green!! So I hope to say Hi to you, although I think you might well leave me in the dust!

Carrie: Ah, you know me so well. I've now moved into the ice creams named after alcohol, as things are going so swimmingly in the housing hunt. :rotfl2: How do you feel about Rum Raisin? As for your 5 hilly miler, I'd say that's better than "not too bad." My legs are sore just thinking about it. And I know what you mean by intermediate yoga being advanced. Some days, even a beginner class moves too quickly for my little brain to process!

Krista: Oh, now I want to do the Flying Pig next year precisely because it's organized, and I know I'd find the wide range of walkers & runners fascinating. My issue with the Pgh Race for the Cure was mainly that it seemed to do a disservice to both the runners and walkers by not holding the walkers to the official start, especially because the two courses merged 1/2way through.

Wow, I think your pregnancy is doing great things for your creative thinking and planning processes, if not for your sleep cycle. (Not that you needed any help in those first two areas.) You've mapped out your entire training plan for year! And it sounds like a great plan to keep you running, prepared for January, and in great overall shape, too!

Allie: Congrats on your great time in the practice for your Cotton Row 10K. What an accomplishment, and you've made such progress in a short period of time. You should be proud--just like you did the team colors proud.

Frank: Oh, I've decided that the expo is the only way to judge your fair city. Can you fulfill my bottomless need for more gear, that's my question. Who wants a key to the city?! ;) :rotfl2: As for the Pgh Cure, I know it's more an event than a race--that's been my experience in other Cures--but see what I said to Krista about not enforcing the start. Just seems like it would be easier on everyone involved to have an official walk start.

But as for far important things, The Pub. Where is this wonderful football (soccer) bar? Any chance it's near the downtown area? I'd love to tell DOOD about it, especially as the race starts at 7 and we're staying over in Cleveland until Monday.

Bride Michelle: I totally forgot about having to sneak pics of the dresses. Thank goodness for cell phones. I think you should have left your DF for a few hours--after all, what's more important, him or the dress? Or better yet, sharing the pics of the dress with us? Harumpppph. I suppose that's love for ya! :rotfl2: After you're married, I'm christening you Wifey Michelle, okay?

REgarding the Pilates, I know Amy has said Winsor is fine if that's what you have, but prefers Pilates for Dummies. I've seen both, and I have to agree; Pilates for Dummies offers much more instruction if you can't get your mom to a class. As for your pace and distance, I don't know whether to hug you or be jealous. (Can I do both?) You're doing really well and after only 2 1/2 weeks. It sounds like it's all clicking with you--and I really can't help but celebrate for you!

Morgan: The race participants as a cattle herd! Hah! Just put a cowbell on me and call me home! Exactly. That made me laugh out loud, and I'll bet you did too when you wrote it. My question is, does laughing out loud make your back hurt. From what you've described about your pain, I'll bet it does. And so, onto more seriousness. There's NO WAY you should run. I know exactly what you mean by fearing any missed run will be a huge setback. But don't let yourself by guided by that fear. You need to avoid doing anything that will cause more pain and perhaps injury. Please wait until you see your chiro. (What Krista, et al. said.) Promise?

MSDave: That's right--the Disney trip interferes with your plans for Cleveland! That's not fair...to me! I was looking forward to meeting you. :sad2:

Judy: It's great to have you back. You managed to convey what a great time you had in in under 30 words. And managed to tucker me out, too!

CarolA: Well, it sounds like the Galloway session was giving you a little unexpected speed work. Congratulations, I think??!! I hope your internet is stable and you're back on regularly.

Lily: Glad to see you posting. We miss you around here. I hope you're not experiencing a bad case of the post-Minnie blues.

Jeanne: :yay: for the college graduation celebrations and for posting back here to announce you're back on track. I wish I was a Survivor fan, but it never really caught my eye.

Joan: Good job with the 5 miles. Are you planning on signing up for more races in the near future? If not, maybe a new activity to complement the running? That's what DOOD and I are considering, as the gas prices are going to affect our discretionary budget and we're eliminating some of the local, shorter races we had been considering.

Karen: I can't imagine you as a slacker, or anyone else who did the Minnie and who are having problems getting back into the groove. I just think you're all observing a properly respectful mourning period for the event. Oooh, and preemptive congratulations on the new grandbaby!

Ms. Duckie: First, I've been meaning to thank you for all the work you put into the Minnie photo crib sheet. I haven't seen it, but it's such a cool idea. And you've been so generous with your time! Second, I'm so glad you had a good time at the Minnie (as we all knew you would). I need to read your TR, so I'm glad you're putting some pics in it. I think I read them for the pics.

Scott: For the record, although I certainly think those who prefer vanilla ice cream are sophisticated hipsters, I do not believe that means such persons aren't deeply decadent individuals. In my experience, it's been exactly the opposite. I'd be far less convinced of your dark side if you told you ordered B & J's Dave Matthews Band Magic Brownies or Cold Stone Creamery's Cheesecake Fantasy. It's you vanilla lovers that have something to hide. So to my mind, you're a dangerous one, you are. You may be riding a bike, but my image of you is more "Easy Rider." :cool2: So....tell me about your July trip..... I've been reading your TR, but haven't commented on it yet. Probably reading too much subtext in there. :rotfl2:

Jules123: Welcome to the WISH Team. Congratulations on your first 5K--great time--and planning on the Princess 1/2! It looks like we'll really have a sizable WISH contingency there. If you want to join one of our smaller, challenge teams, just PM Windwalker "the Panda" Dave. He'll hook you up! But keep coming back here, as we're a chatty group with members from all the smaller teams and then some!

Shan: No driving for 3 weeks? Wow, talk about some enforced gas-saving. I hope it also gives you a chance for some much-deserved pampering from your family. Plus, I'd think all that recovery period will give you exactly the motivation to get right back into training (assuming your doctors okay it and PT goes well).

Dave: I think it's a great idea to hang out over on the main section of WISH every once in a while. I don't know lots of people over there, and I kind of feel like I'm missing a whole lot of cool people. (Oh, and you all know I think you're cool people, so don't think I'm bored with you! :snooty:) Thanks for reminding me that the DIS and WISH aren't one-stop destinations!

Mel: :wave2: Great to hear from you--and another Pilates for Dummies viewer. I think those people owe Amy some commission, don't you?

Amy: Great to see you here again! I need to post over on your journal, as soon as I think of something insightful to say....Don't expect much of a RR of the Cleveland 1/2 from me. I'm afraid distances make me a bit of a dumb bunny, and I won't be able to remember much. I'll be counting on DOOD's much better memory to help me flesh out things. (Um, that wasn't casting aspersions on Jessica's Rabbits, btw.) As for your running plans, I LOVE them. The details on our days vary, but it's the same general plan DOOD and I have for the next couple of months.

So I applaud your decision and am excited to hear how it works for you. And if I catch you getting all serious and unhappy about running in the next month or so, I'm going to give you the same "punishment" that I've threatened DOOD with: you have to run your next race as a costumed runner--in the costume of MY choice.

As for me: Okay, so I realize I wasn't the poster child for the Pgh Race for the Cure. It wasn't a bad event, really, just nothing like any of the other (smaller) Race for the Cures I've experienced. I really wasn't going into it in race mentality, either. The whole floating start thing just really threw me. On the upside, I heard wonderful things about the Philly RftC, from Nancy (padisneyfan), and am thinking I'll do that one next year. Now that one sounds like a party!!!

And Pgh is supposed to be getting its marathon back in 2009, after a several year hiatus. If it does, I'm issuing an invitation to all of you to come to my home where I'll give you a tour of the city. Or at least 26.2 miles of it. At your own pace. Bring an umbrella, because it'll probably be raining. And I might stay in bed. :rotfl2: I will buy your post-race ice cream, though!

More serious question here, and this is for all you folks from Cleveland or who are familiar with it....Any suggestions on good restaurants to eat, preferably with some vegetarian dishes? The Cleveland event is turning out to be a mini-family get-together, with my ILs and some of DOOD's cousins. So we'll be doing some entertaining, and the larger the group the more indecisive the dinner plans are. So....what are your thoughts? We'll be staying downtown, near the convention center and the baseball stadium.

Didn't mean to confuse folks. :confused3 I haven't done the Cotton Row yet (it's Memorial Day). I just ran the course on Saturday. Should have seen me, I had the map in my hand making sure I turned on the right streets. :rotfl2: The friends that went with me are 11 years my junior, and they were faster than me. :upsidedow Actually they have the course marked on the street, so I guess I can leave the map at home next week. :rotfl2: Now that I have my Garmin, I guess I still have to have something to think about, so this week it was directions.

Oh, I don't think you confused anyone but me. That happens to me a lot, as I'm a bear with very little brain, so I don't even think it was you. I believe such moments come more often with age. :rotfl2:

Regardless of whether it was a race or not, congratulations on running the course and in such great time. Wow, that's dedication to the race. Admit it, YOU're the one who marked the course. ;)

- Would a 20 spot be sufficient to have some influence on the costume decision process? :confused3

:rotfl2:

(oh yeah...Day Four is up!)

Vanilla boy wants some influence? Heck, you know what I think about your decadent self--you definitely have a say! If THAT doesn't have Amy on the running path to nirvana, I don't know what will! :rotfl2:

Bill, Lynnda...you guys ok over there? Looks a bit toasty on your side of the state. One of our news dudes was broadcasting from the brushfires in Palm Bay.

The closest fire is about 2 miles from us. We do know several people who are right in the path though. The high school Lynnda taught at was evacuated yesterday due to the fires right across the street. The winds are blowing everything away from us so I don't think we are in any danger right now. That might change if the winds change direction but I think there are enough houses between us and the fire that the firefighters could get it stopped.

Traffic is a nightmare since they closed the three main roads roads out of here (I95, US1 and a local north/south road). That is interesing in itself because the only one left is A1A which is beachside and only 2 lanes. There are several upset drivers right now.

Bill

Good Morning all:

I got up this morning to let the dog out and got hit in the face with.......smoke!! cough cough!! WOw, the fires that are burning to the north of me in Palm Bay, about 1hour 45min drive North, are leaving a smoke trail and its coming my way. I hope everyone inthat area is doing ok.
Bill: Glad to hear your ok, They were showing people stranded on the highway who were trying to get home and stuf and had been there for hours.
It's very dry here also, so a fire could spark anytime - usually out in the everglades.

Sorry, no posting I have not been feeling to well - another story - so I haven't done much. Kinda on a downer. I will try to do a few miles after work today depending on the smoke in the air.

Have a good day everyone.

Greetings Everyone: Sorry for the all about me post, but I haven't had time to catch up with everyone. I did 5.39 miles last night in 51:01 min/9:28 mpm pace. The best thing was DD7 pooh: rode her bike beside me the whole way. It was a great evening.

KevinZ - Welcome home! :yay:

Bill - thanks for letting us know you guys are safe. We've been running the story of the fires near you up here in Boston and I was worried as well.

:welcome: to all our new members - you are gonna love this place!

I feel lost without a race to train for. I NEED to find one, and find one fast! Unfortunately, I think I am on the verge of another cold & possibly strep again. Zack has conjunctivitis and I still think he is a carrier of strep like my niece. If I get it again, he is so getting his huge tonsils out! :rotfl:

Deekaypee I'll look for you in that sea of humanity and say hi. Do you know of anyone else running.

Kristi, Smuttynose Will Run for Beer 5K 6/22 in Newmarket at the Stone Church, be there or...well you know. I had mentioned this to Chad earlier on the Goof thread. Free beer, wings and chili after the race........:woohoo:

Hi everyone -

Welcome to our newcomers and returnies!

Rich - all I can say is WOW, good luck this weekend. Come back and tell us all about it.

Cam - Your stories about shoe shopping could be me. I have no desire to ever wear high heels and can't quite figure out why other women think they look good. I have enjoyed hearing about your compromises with your feet.

Shan - I am wishing you luck on your surgery. I bet you will feel like a new woman come time for training for the half!

KevinZ - I am so happy you are home safe! Thank you for your service.

As for me, I am off to the Doctor today. I have some ongoing issues that I have been putting off for way too long and its time to get them resolved.

Cecilia

More serious question here, and this is for all you folks from Cleveland or who are familiar with it....Any suggestions on good restaurants to eat, preferably with some vegetarian dishes? The Cleveland event is turning out to be a mini-family get-together, with my ILs and some of DOOD's cousins. So we'll be doing some entertaining, and the larger the group the more indecisive the dinner plans are. So....what are your thoughts? We'll be staying downtown, near the convention center and the baseball stadium.

I am trying to wrap my head around what hotel you are staying in.. to me the convention center and the stadium are on opposite sides of town (of course, you'll see that Cleveland downtown proper isn't that large!!) - I work across from Progressive Field, btw!

At any rate, you'll be within walking distance of 4th street, which has a few restaurants on it. My favorite being 4th Street Bar & Grill (http://www.4thstreetbarandgrill.com/). It opened last year, is slightly upscale-Americana style food and it has a bowling alley inside. To me, it's really a cool glimpse of the two sides of Cleveland - trying desperately to be modern but really an old, blue collar town at heart.

A very short walk up the street from that is Zocalo mexican restaurant (http://www.zocalocleveland.com/) which has a very yummy adult drinks menu!

If you want to head over the bridge into Ohio City there is the "famous" Great Lakes Brewery (the food is pretty good, too) (http://www.greatlakesbrewing.com/) or a place called Phom Penn that serves Cambodian/Vietnamese food.

Amy -- I am so glad you've decided to take some of the pace pressure off yourself for your runs. I hope you can get back quickly to the point where you LOVE to run and look forward to getting outside! I do worry about how many classes you are teaching and that you are going to take classes on top of those. I'm not sure whether to think  or :worship: -- I feel like such a mom worrying about you, sweetie!

Cecilia -- Good luck with your doctor's appointment. pixiedust: Please let us know how you are doing. Oh, and so glad you are with me on the shoe thing. Some women -- okay, most women -- just don't get why I have such an issue with this. :rotfl2:

Krista -- hugs to you and Carter and to that guy who used to post here, Stephen, I think that was his name? ;) J/K. Please give your wonderful hubby a huge hug for me. Good luck with your walking plan. It sounds very sensible as long as you don't try to push the pace! :cool1:

Karen & John -- Looking forward to hearing your great news about your new Grandson. Keeping our fingers crossed that it is all effortless for Marie (and Sean  ). :cloud9:

Jeanne -- Congrats on your youngest graduating college. :goodvibes Does this mean no more tuition payments?? More importantly, does that mean more $$ freed up for race entries and Disney trips? :thumbsup2

Bill and Lynnda - so glad to hear you guys aren't in the path of the fire. Sorry about all the complications from it. How sad for all those people who have lost homes.

Tracy-- Feel better! pixiedust: :goodvibes:

Kristi - -You Too!!! Feel better! pixiedust: :goodvibes: Oh, and as for a race, I think you should come and do the Philly 1/2 with me in September. I haven't signed up yet, but I will if you will!

Oh, as for my training -- 60 minutes of hill training on the recumbent bike this morning with some good company and occasional reading of a good book. Saving my legs for C25k W4D2 tomorrow.
