Wk of June 10--WISH Walking/Running Club

Denny - I will never sell my house because I refuse to move again. I feel your pain. But on the plus side, as a southern girl, let me welcome you to the best darn part of the country to live in:thumbsup2

- Mary Kathryn

Thank you very much. It's the thought of the the nice Carolina weather (no more Ohio winters:scared1: ), being 3 hours from Myrtle Beach, and ONLY 8 HOURS FROM WDW.   , that keep me motivated to plow through all of the prep work. Our house looks like we just moved in, when we're actually packing to move out. All I keep thinking is "It'll all be over in a few months.:woohoo: "

Good luck Sara! We will be thinking of you and cheering you on from afar. So glad to hear that Rick is doing fine. :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: to Rick and Tiff that the days continue to get easier. I survived cooking class without cutting myself or anyone else or burning down the kitchen. Actually, I was shocked to learn that a lot of the recipes were not too difficult and I could actually make them at home if I tried. Who knew? :confused3 I have another event tonight so no training for me again. Tomorrow will be a SR. Happy Friday everyone!

Just had to post that I just got off the phone with MS at DVC and made our ressies for January!:cool1: Gonna stay at the BCV! I can't wait! I was hoping for BC or BW so we could cheer on the half-er's easily. I'm so excited--just had to share!:cool1:

Good morning everyone. It’s a beautiful day today in NW Florida.

A quick drive through.

Ran 2 miles on the TM last night, and I may have had a breakthrough with the PF issue. Even though my foot has felt better it still reminds me it hasn’t completely healed.

About a month ago I bought a pair of inserts from Heel That Pain http://www.heel-that-pain.com/pain_relief.php and have been wearing the left insert with my street shoes. Well, yesterday I figured I would try it out with my running shoes (Asics 2120). It made for a slightly tight fit, but once I started running I didn’t notice it. Going to thinner socks will probably help alleviate the tightness. My foot felt fine throughout the run and there was no pain afterwards. I just don’t know how the foot would fare on longer runs. Something to pursue I guess.

Vic - How long were you out of training just recently? I'll have to go at least a month and already I can't stand it.

I didn't run for 30 days, and gained 14 pounds. :rolleyes1 Guess I should have adjusted my eating while I was down. :rolleyes1

Mary Kathryn – I saw in another thread that you use speed laces from speedlaces.com I ordered a couple of pair. How do you like them?

Hopefully, I can catch up with everyone later.

:)

Good morning Wish team!! Happy Friday!!!! :) I am so glad it’s the weekend, I’m looking forward to sleeping in a little bit tomorrow morning. But I can’t sleep too long as it’s supposed to be over 90 and I do NOT want to run outside when it’s that hot. Well, since I didn’t post yesterday (and I have no idea why I didn’t, I just didn’t) I have 2 workouts to post. On Wednesday I ran 3 miles, again I kept the pace fairly slow and finished in 34:29. Reading about everyone’s speed work is really making me want to do speed work too, but I’m scared to do anything that will aggravate my IT band. Last night I stopped at the gym on my way home. Again, I did the bike on the hill program for 30 minutes, I ended up biking 12 miles. I also did my normal lifting routine: leg press, leg extension, leg curl, rowing machine, and pectoral machine. So far this week I’ve run 6 miles (not counting my lr tomorrow which will probably be 5 miles ) and I’ve bike 35 miles. :woohoo:

Dave—Those pictures are gorgeous, but PLEASE be careful!!!!!! The 2 Brothers look pretty scary!

Mel—My advice to you is to concentrate on getting better and back off the running. The CDC isn’t your big event, the WDW marathon is, and I think you need to focus on training for that. If you run CDC and aggravate your foot, that could seriously effect your training for the marathon. I’ve dealt with injuries quite a bit in the past year and a half, so I know how much it sucks to have to sit the bench, but sometimes that’s what you have to do to get better in the end. :wizard:

Terri—Grrrr!!!!! I’m so sorry you may need another surgery! You really messed yourself up good!

Lily—Good luck this weekend on the Relay for Life!

Sara—You’re probably already gone, but in case you’re not, good luck tomorrow at Grandma’s!!! I’ll be thinking about you! Can’t wait to read your race report!

Shan—Congrats on the 100 miles!!!

Dana—Congrats on the new Tahoe! Stephen and I are SUV shopping, we just checked out the Tahoe’s last weekend, they are really nice!!! I think it’s wonderful how you are getting Michael into running at such a young age, I know it’ll really make a difference in his life. Nice job on the speed work!

Craig—You are fast! I think you are going to own the WDW marathon in January! I can’t wait to see your big smile afterwards!

Mary Kathryn—How were the new shoes??

Heather—I’m so glad that the fire department didn’t need to make an appearance at your cooking class!!! Maybe you can come and cook for me? I love to cook, I just don’t have the time anymore! Or rather, I’m too lazy!

Carrie—How are you doing?

Denny—8 hours away from Disney? That would be heaven!!!!!

Judy—I am so sorry that it looks like there is another surgery looming. I think you should go ahead and do it now to get it out of the way. Plus WW Dave did offer to carry you for ToT. Even if you can run by then, I think you should still insist that WW Dave carry you regardless! ;)

Hockey Jen—Welcome!!!! Wow, we have a lot of hockey fans here!

Leana—Good luck at Banff!

Megan—Sorry you hurt your ankle! I wore an ankle brace on runs after I sprained my ankle, once I got used to it, it wasn’t bad at all and did give me extra support. Just be prepared to be in pain for the first 3 or 4 runs, it takes a while to get used to the band underneath your foot. I also recommend that you start lifting weights to prevent injuries, I can't tell you how much lifting weights has helped my weak ankles and IT band. It is a very noticeable difference

Kristi—You are going to be one toned, hot Momma!!!

FL Bill—I’m glad you finally got a run in! Congrats on the speed work!

Stephanie—Good luck on you lr today! Congrats on getting BCV for the marathon.

marathonmommy—The Jeff Galloway plan is already starting for January? Or are you adding extra weeks to the program? (Which is a great idea, by the way.) I’m not sure if there is a website that maps out your training program with dates, I always just figure it out with a calendar and type it up in Word.

Colleen—Hi!!

Karen—I hope you get some relief from the hip pain! I know stretching has done wonders for my IT band!

Well, I tried really hard to get everyone, but I know I didn’t. Unfortunately I should do some work today. If I don’t make it back before Sunday, Happy Father’s Day to all the dad’s here!

Morning folks, happy Friday! No training for me to report from last night. I didn't even XT, I just took the night off. The good news is the ankle is feeling really good today. I think part of the issue was the shoes I was wearing to work. I hate to admit it, but they are pretty old and I'm sure there isn't too much in the way of support in them anymore. I stopped off at the mall and bought a pair of Naturalizers. Not as pretty as some of my heels...but definitely comfy!

I picked up my race pack last night for the Banff Citizen's Race. For a small race I was pretty impressed with what we got! A mini soap from the Rocky Mountain Soap Co, plus a coupon for their store, a gel pax (use it either hot or cold), a pack of Sharkies and some additional coupons. No shirt yet - we pick those up at the info booth at the race. And good news....the forecast has improved to 52 deg with light rain.

HockeyMom Jen - Welcome to the group! You and your son could sign up for the half through marathontours.com or anthonytravel.com, as the age cutoff is 14 years for that race. I know you already booked with AAA, but something to keep in mind if you can get your deposit back from them.
Megan - Great job on getting your run in over lunch. Sorry to hear you were hobbling back to the office though! :wizard:
Kristi - Thanks for sharing the news about Tiffany. I've been wondering how they were doing.
Dana - Yay for the new Tahoe!!
Terri - :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: for your feet/ankles.
marathonmommy - I am following Jeff Galloway's plan as well. When I made up my training schedule for the year months ago his plan was 26 weeks to the full. I noticed the plan changed recently though, and the "To Finish" plan has your marathon at 30 weeks. I've tweaked it slightly though regardless. The longest run I'm going to do is 23 mi, mostly because with Goofy training and the back to back runs, I didn't know that I wanted to attempt 13 and 26 in one weekend together until I'm actually there in January.
Shan - Sounds like you have a great training schedule planned. Keep up the good work!
Erica - Impressive mileage!
Lily - Good luck in your relay this weekend. Can't wait to read the report!
Sara - Good luck at Grandma's this weekend!
Stephanie - Good luck with your 7 miler today. And congrats on the ressies!
Denny - Good luck with the move! As someone who has moved 5 times in the last 6 years I know what a pain it is. In fact, I still have unpacked boxes in my garage from when I moved into my townhouse in November. Don't think I'll be moving so much anymore for awhile since I finally bought a place (knock on wood)!
Heather - Glad to hear you survived your cooking class!
Judy - Good luck with your decision to get your bunion operated on. My mom had both her feet operated on (one in Feb, the other at the end of March....I think....) and she walked the 5K in May. If you get it done now you should be ready to walk the ToT in October, plus I'm sure you will feel much better for January.
Krista - Awesome workouts this week! I understand the "too lazy to cook" thing!

I also called MS this morning and was able to get BWV preferred view studuio (only type left) for marathon weekend. So will be canceling my other reservation for POFQ.

Welcome to Hockeymom Jen.

Dave--- I loved the pictures from Rio and the story.

Cam--- Both my neighbors DD and my former babysitters DD are SO who love doing those events. Thanks to someone like you who volunteers they are able to enjoy doing all those wonderful events. SO is big in my area. Loretta Claiborne is from York and there has been so much written about her and a movie and her involvement in SO.

Lily--- Are you doing the entire Relay for Life event? Ours is this weekend also, but it conflicts with my church's Carnival that I am involved in. As a survivor I would like to participate but it always seems to either conflict with the carnival or I am away at a conference. It is on my to do list for some year.

Someone commented about the 45 minute stretch class, my gym actually has 4 stretch classes per week. I wish I could get to all of them but I do try to get to at least one. It feels so good after it is over, plus someone is telling me what to do. It is the same with pump and AB class, I won't do them myself, but going to the class makes me do it. My gym is so close I can walk to it so there is no excuse not to go there.

Yesterday did 4 mile speed walk on the rail trail after work. Part of the reason it was speedy is that I had to pee so bad that I need to get back to my car and get to the nearest BR. I love the trail but the pit stops are few and far between. I don't mind going into the woods when I have to, but this area of the trail is right up against a rock wall so you can't walk into the woods. I need to drink less water at work when I know that I am going to the trail.

Sorry I didn't post to everyone, I still have trouble keeping everyone's posts straight.

Nancy

I booked a family vacation through AAA-for 2 adults 1 infant, 7 days/6 nights; 7 day hopper, water parks & more option & Dining plan. $2047- MY air (from Detroit) was $790, for 4 seats. We stayed at the Sports. It was VERY clean & a full house, but I never heard ANYTHING & the manager, Lon, was able to take our remaing tickets (electronically) & donate them to Give Kids The World. Its a place where familys go for kids that have a 'wish', from a life threating illness. We stayed there in Dec. 2001. My now 15 yr old had Leukemia. He's 3 1/2 yr off treatment. :dancer:

My son does want to to the Full but knows you have to be 18. I had mis-wrote & meant to say he thought I could do the FULL, for sure, by 2009. BUT if I can get in through a one of the links you gave me, I WILL do the 1/2 for sure, in 2008!!!

I'll be checking into it ASAP!!!

Thanks for the tip!!! I'm so excited!!! I can't even WORK!! :rotfl:

OK..so I know I am a big LOOOOOOO-ZER b/c all my post are about me, but I just cannot keep up this week with everyone. I have gotten several new clients and the case load is high...but anywho.....

I did my LR this morning. Was supposed to be 14 again but somehow my mapping was off so got in 13.4.:confused3 I don't know how I mapped it wrong. But whatever....

Did the 1st 8.8 by myself. I must have been drag'n b/c I was doing an 8.58 MPM..:confused3 Seems slow, but the run was easy so that may be right.
Then met Bree for the last 4.6 at an 11.18 pace. I was so evil...she may tell you about it. The last hill, I made her run up it...(insert evil laugh!) But there will come a time when she thanks me for it.
SORRY BREE!

Good morning Racing Team -

Today was a rest day. Seven miles scheduled for tomorrow. Very early as the temp is about to soar here.

Kristi - HA! You're a funny girl! :lmao: Yea, I've gotten prescription painkillers but I don't take them. They make me sick and I just don't like them. I take two good Old Advils and I'm fine. It's really not even the operation or the pain, it's the weeks and weeks and WEEKS afterwards of gimping around in that stupid surgical shoe. It throws everything else off and every single part of me will be sore. What a fun summer! Oh I'm SOOO glad to hear about Rick! Major :wizard: that it continues to shrink!!

Terri - OMG, what is going on? You poor thing. Yes, let's commiserate together then run off to WDW for some PD. :yay: And JSYK, I feel the same way about my job right now too. :headache:

Mary Kathryn
- Believe me, I'd LOVE to stop finding funky things to come down with. Maybe this is it. These things come in threes, isn't that the old saying? if so, then I'm done. :goodvibes

Sarah - Oh I know you're gone but I WISH you the best of luck! :thumbsup2

I didn't run for 30 days, and gained 14 pounds. Guess I should have adjusted my eating while I was down.

Vic - OK, while I'm under for the foot thing I'll ask them to wire my jaw shut.

Krista
- I was considering WWDave's offer but I'm not sure I'd get the bling if I was carried across the finish line. :rotfl:

Leana
- Best of luck with the Banff race! :thumbsup2

Good morning guys. Did anyone else wake up with a serious case of happy feet. I was planning on today being a rest day but I felt way to good. In my part of the country a common last phrase is: "Hey Y'all watch this".

So in the intrest of being cautious I did keep my walk easy this morning. I did my favorite 4 miles on the hills in 50:51. I soooo need an adventure, well in 2 weeks I'm sure I'll get all I want.

I was thinking this morning while I was walking, (yea I know don't say it), that this is a very unique group, the WISH Team. We as a group are not satisfied with watching the world go by, we want to be part of it, we want to live everyday not just survive it. We would rather be part of the action than sit and watch it on TV. We see ourselves as we can be and strive for the best in ourselves, never losing hope that tomorrow will be even better than today.

Ok have a wonderful day y'all, to everyone facing challanges, be the strong person you are and you will not only get through it but you will inspire those around you that need your strength.

Dave:hippie: "YARC"

TGIF everyone!!

I wonder if she is related to the exotic dancer Kevin met in Toronto on the jogging trail last year? At least she actually did just want to run with him. :rotfl:

:rotfl: :rotfl:
OMG, how did you remember that?? (It was, in fact, two years ago this week...) Ah yes, "Shazette" from Club Zanzibar. In all fairness she was very nice. I was just suprised she didn't repeatedly knock herself unconcious with those things.....

Shan-- Thanks for the info about running on the ship. I feel a lot better about it now!!

Dave-- That was the funniest thing I've read in a long time. :rotfl: Rio looks amazing from your pictures.

Kelly-- Welcome back!! Good to see you!!

Cam-- Sheesh, I'm exhausted just reading the post about your weekend. I used to be a swim coach for Special Olympics back in Maryland. It was an amazing, humbling experience. When you see someone that's been blind from birth, swimming a 100m freestyle.... well, your own personal challenges don't look quite so daunting.

Judy-- Not to push you... but I'd get the surgery over with. The quicker it's done the quicker you'll be back on the road to recovery and back on the roads to train.

Jen-- :welcome:

Sara-- Good luck this weekend!!!

Krista-- Captain was remarkably good, but he's been bummed ever since the Quebec guys left on Monday morning. We did however discover that our Newfoundland Chance is dumber than we thought.... he apparently believes anytime anyone speaks French, they're speaking to him. He'd coming running into the room, sit and stare with his ears perked up and his tail wagging.....

Mel-- That's a tough call. Where do you feel like your training is right now? I think Craig has the right idea when he talked about crosstraining as much as you can. Only you know your body and how it will react, so if you feel like you need to bee 100% at the start of full training, then take the time.

Marathonmommy-- I personally avoid most other running message boards (save a few) because they can get kind of scary. I think it's important to separate the idea of "elites" from "elitists." It's the elitists that give runners a bad name. That said... the elitists are few and far between. (And to say that there are "a lot" of them is a gross mischaracterization and as a (mostly) runner kind of offends me and makes it seem like there is this canyon-sized gap between runners and walkers--- there's not). I think the internet tends to uncensor people sometimes making it seem like there are more than they actually are. Everyone I met a Disney during the races and everyone I've met at any other event have been 100% supportive, particularly of first-timers. No matter how you get from the start to the finish, you're doing something wonderful. Good luck with the start of training!! :thumbsup2

I think I am finally over not getting into NYC. It's odd... the reason I entered the lottery this year was to defer to 2008, but the closer it got the more I wanted to try it this year. Oh well, two more strikes and I'm guaranteed for 2010.

99 hours until vacation time here.... don't know what I'm going to do with myself. :dance3: I have a 9-miler tomorrow, after which I think I will try and set a goal for next Saturday's 5K. The weather looks very warm right now, so as much as I'd like to go sub-25:00, I think I might have to back off that a bit. We'll see how tomorrow goes....

Update on training...
Tuesday 6/12: 3.00 miles in 28:29, or 9:30/mile. (Shoulda checked the temp beforehand and run later...)
Wednesday 6/13: 3.00 miles in 27:36, or 9:13/mile.
Thursday 6/14: 3.00 miles in 27:19, or 9:07/mile.

These three weeks have been the most consistant training in a long, long time, so I'm pleased that the old body is holding up as well as it is...

Back to work...
Kevin :earsboy:

Quick training update--got in my 7 miles this am in 63:22, just over 9:00min/mile--I would've kept it under 9 but my shoulder started hurting so bad that I had to stop and walk for a while. I broke my shoulder in 5th grade (broke the ball off the ball and socket joint) so I have some arthritis in the joint b/c of it. And the repetitive back and forth arm motion sometimes aggravates it.

Christa-- Okay, you're a loser--Just Kidding! Now wait just a minute.....under 9:00min/mile and you were dragging????? What does that mean for the rest of us?:rotfl: Great job with the run, give Bree our best!

Nancy--BWV was my first choice but one of the nights we wanted was unavailable in a studio-the 10th I think, and she told me that BC had limited avail. so if we wanted it we needed to book right away. Now I just get to obsess over ADRs and more planning for the weekend! Can't wait!

Well, off to the showers with me, so I can pick DD up from camp on time!

Actually got out there yesterday. I walked/ran 32 minutes. Walking 3, running 1 -- per Marathoning for Mortals plan. I have no idea how far it was, since I was out on the "well road" -- which I have to climb over a cattle gate to get to. I spotted a brown squirrel, a blue tailed lizard, and lots of dive bomber butterflies. Fortunately, there were no cows -- I hate running with cows -- you know those t-shirts that say "she who runs with wolves" --well, "she who runs with cows" just doesn't seem to cut it.

Dona

Just a quickie to say that I got my orthodics (sp?) yesterday and walked on my tm for 30 mins. It felt as if I was walking on a roll of quarters...very weird feeling. Anyhoot, I'm going to walk another 30 this morning so I can get use to them before Leadville's Heavy Half, which is coming up in a few weeks.

Funny story: I thought that I was opening today, so I got up @3:45 am, started a pot of coffee and checked my schedule to see who I was working with. Guess what? I am the closer today, which means I don't have to be @ work til 1pm. UGH!:headache:  I crawled back into bed and tried to pretend that getting up was just a dream....lol:rolleyes1

Hello TEAM: Here's the latest in my Rio Running Adventures

I got up early again today. I actually thought I would sleep in because I was up later than I have been all week, but once again I was up before the alarm clock rang. So, I decided I would go for another early morning run, and do some sightseeing on my feet.

There was another beautiful sunrise this morning that I could see from my hotel room.
DSC00726.jpg

When I got to the beach I saw my "friend" again. I was going to wave to say hello, but I thought that would initiate another conversation that I did not want to start.

Today I ran away from the beach to a freshwater lagoon (big pond). There's a 4-5 mile road/path around the lagoon that I thought would be nice to run around. It was about 2 miles from my hotel to get to the lagoon. Here's what I see when I get there. On top of the mountain across the lagoon is the mountain with the HUGE statue of "Christ the Redeemer" with his arms outstretched on it. I'm hoping I can go see that statue up close tomorrow.
DSC00728.jpg

I didn't take a lot of picture on this run because, in all honesty, things are starting to look the same. Sure, it's all really pretty, but how many pictures do I need of water and mountains? I tried to take some different pictures today. I liked this little guy just sitting in the grass taking a bath.
DSC00730.jpg

These boats reminded me of the book "Make Way for Ducklings".

DSC00735.jpg

This is the best picture I got of the Jesus statue "Christ the Redeemer", but I'm really far away. Again, I hope to go up to see the statue tomorrow.
DSC00733.jpg

Finally, here's one of my in my new running shirt I just bought. I was very excited to find the perfect souvenier for my trip. A Rio 2007 (for the Pan Am games) tech/wicking tank top. Good thing I got it too because my other shirt was getting stinky. Look how hot I am, and it's only 8:30am. It was already over 70 degrees and very, very humid.
DSC00739.jpg

This was a cool thing about the running path around the lagoon. There were about 3 or 4 organized running groups. Everyone wore the same colored singlet, and they had tents set up on the path that had water and mats on the ground for people to stretch on. Can you see the people in orange behind me? That is one of the running groups called RioRunners I think. I asked one of them to take my picture.

Well, I have all afternoon free from the meeting. Nothing was scheduled from 12:30p until 7:00p when there is a banquet. I am going to take another tour with the Rio Hiking group. This time I am doing a kayak tour. I'm very excited for it. Hope everyone's doing well.

I am (sort of) training for the Leadville Heavy Half Marathon. It's hard to train for something that will start at 10,000 feet above sea level when you live at sea level. I set the treadmill to a 5% incline and walk at 4 miles an hour. Now all I need to do is figure out how to choke off all the oxygen! The event is July 7th. I'm walking with my sister who, so far, hasn't backed out.

Gotta run! More later when I have a minute. I hope everyone has a great day!

I know how you feel. We have about a zillion pics of the Grand Canyon. They all pretty much look the same.

I love the reports from Rio! I am so going to miss them!

Yup, all afternoon, all night, all done in the a.m. tomorrow. It is an amazing thing. If you can get to it they've got them down to a real moving event (physically and emotionally) Same with Susan Komen Race for the Cure. I try to get to ours every year. Fantastic event.

Dave, I am not finding ANY of your pics boring. I love that you are sharing with us and am glad you get time to do this.

I'm getting ready to head out. Our team is taking some time due from work to go set up.

Happy Fathers Day Weekend!

Go WISH Team! for those participating in tevents.

Hi All,

Last night I did the elliptical at the gym for 35min including warm-up & cool-down, then did some weight machines (leg press, leg curl, bicep curl, triceps curl, ab work) and then did lots of stretching. The hip seems to be getting better. Woke up this morning without it hurting or being stiff, so I guess all the stretches are helping. Tomorrow is supposed to be a 6 mile LR. Don’t know whether I should skip it to give the hip a break or walk it at a slow & easy pace to at least get the steps in. :confused3 I just don’t want to make it worse.

Cam – You are getting speedy. Nice increases in your pace.
Andrew – Nice restful day off. :goodvibes
Craig – Your stories & insights are so motivational for me. Thanks!
Vic – Glad the foot seems to be doing well. Hope the inserts in your running shoes helps.
Jackie – Glad you had a good trip. Great job getting a run in while you were at WDW. Good luck with your 10mile LR tomorrow.
MSDave – Love the photos. That Two Brothers area definitely doesn’t look safe. Please be careful! The steps coming down from that house are CRAZY. Is it hard running on the cobblestone? Glad you got to get in at least a little beach time. Nice new shirt. Enjoy the kayak tour.
Kristi – Thanks for the info on Molly. Got tivo all set up so we don’t miss it. Hope Chad’s work schedule is getting a little easier for you. Hope you are able to start getting more sleep.
Kim – pixiedust: that work gets a little less crazy.
Shan – Congratulations on the 100 miles. Cool certificate!
Heather – Glad the cooking class went well & the fire department :firefight didn’t need to be called.:lmao:
WWDave – Great job on your walks. Your times are amazing. Hope the store audit went well.
Judy – I agree with others…you should probably get the surgery done now & get it over with before it gets worse. Glad your hip is feeling better. Yep, at times the pain was going down my leg. Sometimes to my knee, sometimes down to my foot/ankle. The stretches have really helped a lot.
Monica – Nice bike work-out! Hope you adjust to the orthodics quickly.
Mel – No real advise, just lots of (pixiedust) that your foot feels better soon. If it doesn’t hurt to walk, maybe you could train to walk the CDC.
Stacey – Good job on getting in your 6 miles
Christa – I like your alternating bike/run work-out. Very cool! Good job getting in your LR this morning with how busy you are.
Hockey Jen – Welcome! Last year John (DH – Space Ranger) decided he wanted to do the half with DS & I after it was already full. We ended up switching our room only ressie with Disney with a AAA discount to Anthony Travel so we could sign him up for the half. Our room ended up costing us only a dollar more per night going through Anthony Travel. Good luck with whatever you decide.
Dona – We book direct through Disney central reservation. Last year John (DH) & I did the half and were part of the WISH Scream Team for the full. We had a car, so we drove to BC, had breakfast, then went out onto the boardwalk in front of BC to cheer everyone on.
Megan – Hope your ankle is feeling better.
Tiff – If you are reading…Glad Rick is doing well & the tumor is shrinking.
Dana – Thanks for the info on stretching constantly. I have been trying to stretch at least 4 times a day so I will make sure to continue to do that. pixiedust: that your hip is feeling better. That was great that the bikers told Michael he was doing a wonderful job. Please tell him I think he is doing a GREAT job too! Good job on your speedwork.
Terri – pixiedust: for your injuries. I hope they heal quickly. Positive note….at least if you are going to end up with a stress fracture, at least it is when you can’t run anyway.
