Quick question for all of you - Have any of you shipped stuff ahead of time to the resort? I was thinking about doing this but I don't know how crazy it gets during Marathon week/weekend.

Hi Jodi :wave2: I shipped stuff ahead of time to Fort Wilderness when we went for Labor Day weekend. I made up "bags from Mickey" for each of our princesses that had a Pal Mickey, lanyards, pins, etc., in them. It didn't work out quite as well as I would have liked. Again, I'm just one person, but the packages arrived a day late - I was anxious because the girls didn't have their Pal Mickeys, lanyards and stuff for the first day in the parks. I was really wanting the packages to be in the room when we arrived, and it turned out to be a big pain.

Rhonda-I am so sorry for your loss. Prayers for you & your family :grouphug:

Krista-Thanks for asking, VBS is going great. This week is prep week, so not as crazy as next week will be but I am having a blast decorating the church. That's the part I love & tend to go overboard with.

Dave-how did your girls like the Pal Mickey? My boys saw them & want one but I havent decided if its worth it to lug around the parks.

Mel-have fun on your vacation!

Judy-i saw all types of runners wearing all kinds of things (including jeans :sad2: ) but naked & barfoot would be a first for a WDW race I think :rotfl: You are too funny!

Cam-wow that's a complete list, you even have on there which wrist to put your garmin on :rolleyes1

Yesterday was xt going up & down stairs and up the ladder, down the ladder, move the ladder, up the ladder ......... decorating the ceiling. Today is 2 miles. I've been doing great on my WW eating all week. I have even been packing my lunch & taking it up to the church so I dont have an excuse to eat badly.

Hi Tiffany - The girls liked the Pal Mickeys. Our 8yo was more into it than our 5yo, but they both liked them. We got them when they were really cheap from the Disney Outlet store. We got last years model for around $15 or something like that. So it wasn't a big investment, and they weren't bad to carry around at all.

Rhonda - prayers to you and your family during this trying time. It is hard to lose a parent. You think they should live forever. take care. Our thoughts are with you and your family.

Rhonda-- :grouphug: :grouphug: you and your family are in my prayers. I can't imagine what you are going through, my heart is aching for you right now.

Good morning everyone! It is so hot here--it's already over 80 and it's only 8:00. I'm not looking forward to running tonight. I see either a treadmill run or a late night run in my future.

Jodi--Oct. 29 is my parent's anniversary! They are celebrating their 40th anniversary this year. That basket looks amazing. I would LOVE to get into the event planning business, but I don't even know where to start. Too bad you don't live closer! :goodvibes

Cam--And I thought I was a list maker! Wow!!! I bet you didn't forget anything.

Melissa--It sounds like you are having a great vacation. Is there a spa there too? That's where I would be--getting a massage and facials every day. :teeth:

Jackie--Hines is a great running partner and I feel safer with him with me, he has a very big bark and right now he is in personal protection training. Not that I live in a dangerous area, we live in a subdivision, but you can never be too careful. I'm not sure what his problem was Tuesday, he never stops and pees while we run, I don't let him potty in other people's yards, so he doesn't even try to get to the grass anymore. I'm wondering if being at the park and smelling lots of other dogs had something to do with it.

Tiff--Have fun decorating the church. Do you have a specific theme?

Carrie - Well, I was actually thinking if we couldn't get on the boards and wanted to get in touch with someone. Being that the server is making us all nutso lately.
 Good point!

How did I run a marathon????? Nearly died on my 3- miler last night. I am so hping that getting out Saturday am when it's not so hot will make a world of difference!!!

Rhonda - :grouphug: My deepest sympathies for your loss. I'll keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Another quick post since things are absolultely crazy around here! Why am I always a crazy mess before leaving on a trip?

I made sure to do 3 miles yesterday - W4/R1. (weighing in at WW on weds. nights is a great motivator!) I finished at 37:xx!!! I think my record previous to that was 39:xx. It's funny too, since I was so darn tired the whole time. I even stopped at my house at mile 2 to see how Chad and Dad were doing cutting a chain out of a tree in our backyard. Weird. But good weird!

Oh, and another reason for the people in my neighborhood to think I am a total nutcase - I had my tank on inside out the whole time! When I got home and was stretching in the driveway, I looked down and wondered what this tag thing was on my right hip. DOH!!!

I transferred my records to the new doctor and I have an appt. for a physical in mid-July. I can't wait!

Everyone take care and keep up the training! I am bound & determined to stick to my training for DL. My 12 week plan starts Monday in Ocean City. I can't wait to wog on the Boardwalk in the morning!

Rhonda - may your fathers memory always be a blessing to you and your family.

Judy - I am not surprised barn chores earn so many points! That seems like alot of hard work.

Jody - nice basket - I love Trader Joes

Cam - wow! great list. I love lists! :cool1: You have thought of things I would have forgotten!

Sunny - I am so sorry to hear about pain, I am keeping my fingers crossed that you find a doctor you are comfortable working with.

Dave - Got my socks! Thanks!! They look great.

Minnie - are you the WISHer that had hip pain that turned out to be a bulging disc? I am so glad to hear you are able to start to exercise again, but I can totally see why you are nervous.

Michael - Way to go on the weight loss! That is amazing!

Mike - I am sorry to hear about your health problems, but am very glad to hear that you are very informed. That is a huge step in a positive direction.

As for me, still in pain. I am unable to walk in my regular activities without pain at this time. I still feel some gluteal/hip pain, but after 4 weeks of PT, my low back in now where the pain is focused. The PT is working hard to try to determine if this is sacral or hamstring or both.

A big problem is that in my life, I am dealing with a 4 & 2 year old which hard on the back. Just getting them dressed if they aren't cooperating, I am in trouble. Worse yet, nursing in a hospital is so physical! After a 12 hour shift I am in some major pain.

Oh well, as you can see there is no real change for me. I am out for the CDC in august, but would love to meet up with anyone coming in to town.

I am focused on being healthy for WDW in Jan. I am really hoping to be ready to walk.

I plan on booking All star movies. We stayed at Pop the last few times, but I think my boys would really like ASMo. Has anyone used a AAA room rate in Jan? Any idea when these come out?

Best to all,
Maggie :surfweb:

I am so very sad to report that my dad passed away last night. He was in hospice for just over 24 hours but they were the most peaceful hours we all experienced during the last horrific 8 days. It was the hardest day of my life. We are planning a memorial service on Friday at the community church near my parents' home and hopefully that will provide us all some much-needed closure.

I am so sorry Rhonda. Wish I could give you a hug in person, too. :grouphug: I'll continue praying for your family, as the next few days and weeks will not be easy. So glad that at least his last day was peaceful.

Rhonda,

I am so sorry for your loss. You and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers. :grouphug:

My father went in for some abdominal surgery last week, and it was expected that he would only be in the hospital for a day or two for recovery. There were some complications, and the surgery took longer than expected. As such, his recovery is taking longer than expected and he is not making progress. Last I spoke with him, he still could not eat or drink anything. He is now going back for more surgery this morning. For me, the worst part is the uncertainty of what will happen next. If we have any pixie dust left (we've been going through it a lot lately) I could use some my way. Thanks.

Paul

Rhonda - Please accept my deepest sympathy for you and your family. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Monte - we are staying on Mt. Magazine, which is the higest point in arkansas. I've read that it is the highest pt. between the rockys andthe appalacians but i'm not convinced that that is true. It is near Paris arkansas (i'm sure that narrows it down for you ;-)!! ) It is very beautiful, but I have to admit, it still is not the same as your neck of hte woods!

Today, the boy and i are going to use his trail-a-bike to take a ride around the top of the mt. and then to the visitors center so he can engage in his most favorite activity, buying toys!!

sidenote--the coffee cups are not big enough here!!! I'm going to have to have antoher cup!

((HUGS)) Rhonda....Please know that you and your family will continue in my thoughts. My deepest and sincerest sympathies to you on the loss of your father.

Rhonda :grouphug: I am so sorry for your loss. You and your family are in my prayers. I can't imagine how hard this is for you.

Paul-- I'm thinking of you and your Dad, too. I'm so sorry the surgery has been complicated.

MelR-- Your vaca sounds wonderful! I'd love to get your Goofy plan. No matter what, I am going to be faced with "quality not quantity" for my training.

small advertisement here:

cafepress is running a sale. I believe it is just for June. They have taken $2 off the T-shirts, so if anyone wants to pick up a WISH Scream Team shirt, they are $13.99 right now. Note: I have no control over the sale, they start it and end it and set the price. WISH scream Team Shirts Here I got a little carried away with the merchandising, so the Scream Team shirt is in the first column, 5 down.

Thanks everyone for your well-WISHes and listening to me go on and on. I can truly say I have so much more understanding and compassion for the elderly and people with physical handicaps. It is so hard to want to do something and not be able to do it, and want to go somewhere and have to wait and rely on others to get you there and feel like a burden on top of it. The pain through the night was awful. I let my percocet run out because it only seems to reduce the pain about 40%, but after a few nights of 100% pain I realize 40% is alot better than none. So I've got my call in (menus, voice mail, wait) again.... hoping for some drugs before the day is out :sad2:

Sunny

Good morning all.

Spent 50 min on the TM this morning, with 46 of those walking at 3.8 @ 1% and 4 running at 4.5 @ 1%. It felt pretty good to know I could have kept running, but I didn't feel like listening to my knees complain all day so I stopped. I'm going to sneak in a little extra time running every time I train so they don't hardly even notice.

Anyone got a calendar? I quickly counted the weeks this morning but I think August 19th is 20 weeks until the Half. Isn't that when we are supposed to start REALLY training? I haven't consulted my MFM but I'll check tonight.

Melissa - You have fun but be careful on the Bronc! :goodvibes

Rhonda - Oh Rhonda, I'm am so sorry to hear about your dad. :grouphug:

Tiff - Jeans??? All I can say is OUCH!

Paul - :wizard: for you and your father. Let us know how he's doing.

Sunny
- I keep hoping for a post from you that says things are much better. I was thinking of you this morning. You are very inspirational. I remember the things you've told me about how far you've come. That means a lot to me. It keeps me going sometimes. :flower3: Now, its your turn to remember how far you've come. And if this is a couple of steps back, well, then so be it. You'll just come out of this raring to go and make up for lost time! I have faith in you!

Cam - See? Everybody loves your list! :thumbsup2 Thanks very much for sharing!

Rhonda, I too send out my deepest sympathies. :grouphug:

Paul, prayers for your father as well. I hope the today's surgery is without complications as well.

Colleen
