Hellloooooo everyone...I'm baaaccckkk!!
It has been a loooonnngggg six weeks. I slept through most of it, though! After the Minnie, I had a bruised bone in my foot that had me off of it for 2 weeks. When it didn't get any better, I got put into a walking cast (PM'd Kathy/NYcpa right away!!

). The day after that I came down with some kidney ailment that now has me going to a specialist, but which caused me to sleep, sleep, and more sleep for three weeks! Fortunately, I'm in a place in my life where I can do that. I would get up, hobble to the computer, go to the Disboard to read what everyone was posting, and go back to bed! Praying for everyone was about the only thing I was good for. My goodness, we are a wounded group right now! But... THIS, TOO, SHALL PASS!!
I was finally out of the walking cast and timidly trying to "put the steps in" because we are counting down to
DL! This past Saturday I was ready for my LW..I was so excited!! I hustled out of bed at the crack of dawn (I had put all of my gear/clothes in the bathroom so I wouldn't disturb DH), got my fuel belt on and out the door for my 5 minute warm up. Got the Garmin going, then noticed it was locked up. Oh, well, I'll do without..I've got to get this LW in!! I didn't push for time, just took it easy...At about 1 1/2 miles, I started feeling nauseous and then I threw up..four times!!!! Never have I done that. Ahhhh...but then I realized..in my haste to get out the door..I hadn't eaten anything!!! Good grief!
Dave Remember in MfM, they laughed at the way the Penguin ran and told him he wouldn't be a runner.
Sunny, Paul, Rhonda, Mike
Judy Your new siggie is too cool!!
Monte Fantastic job on your 10K!!!
Minnie You can do it!!
I just WISH I could say something to each and every one of you.
All of you were/are such an inspiration to read. It really was the highlight of my day to see what was going on with all of you..new houses, planning surprises, Hines eating socks (!), bucking broncos, training..whatever!!
I came across this quote from Teddy Roosevelt,
"The credit goes to the man (or woman!) who is actually in the arena...who strives valiantly...and who, at the worst, if he fails at least fails while daring greatly, so that his/her place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat."
