Oh Sunny...I just read this and I am so sorry! I will be praying for you. Here is a little PD and Disney magic for you!plutosmyfav said:Thank you all for asking about me. Yes, I admit I am very depressed. The pain hasn't subsided with inactivity. I tried a little 10 minute walk last Sunday and spent two days in agonizing pain afterward. I'm convinced I am looking at surgery. I called and begged to have my next apt with the two ns drs moved up but they don't have an opening, so I don't see them until Aug 17. I feel like I'm living my life ina waiting room, clinging desparately to my percocet as my only hope.
My poor mother is driving to Mt. Auburn right now (in the heat) to get my MRI (again) since Lahey lost the first one. We're hoping there may be some evidence of change between that one (June 9) and the one done a couple of weeks ago.
If I have the spinal fusion surgery, its a 5 day stay in the hospital and anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months recovery time depending on age, activity level, etc.
I can barely type this, but I realize now that I will not be running Applefest. I can't look any further inot the future yet, its just too painful. I refuse to do the math. And I refuse to do anything with my signature just yet.
Thank you so much for being there for me.
Sunny

Kristi-- I'm so sorry for your loss, we've lost way too many youth in our community to dangerous driving.
Cam-- Happy birthday!

finish time of 4:20. I think our supporting times justify the expected finish we gave them, so it's very likely we'll be in the same corral.

I don't have my splits handy, but I know I ended with ~11mm and it was all I could do to not give into walking it out.gatorphipps said:Craig, Howard, Sonya and anyone else I have missed........
I HAVE A PLAN!
We all need to at least start together and if someone wants to pull off, no pressure to stay with the group.
The 1st of the marathon is "slow" anyway due to the crowds.
I guess we need to be in the same corral...I put my 4:25 Charlotte marathon time down....actually, my 2:10 1/2 marathon may have given me a better start point. Oh well...too late!
What do you gals and guys think?

Hope you had a great day!
and DD8
, and I had our x-country race yesterday evening. We had a great time. The girls entered the 50 yard dash lollipop race, but it was more like 150 m. DD8
won the race and DD5
came in 3rd. Both girls said the race felt too short, and they are excited for the 1/4 mile next week.
picked a small pink and purple snack/lunch box, and DD5
picked a bead bracelet crafty. It had 2 bracelets you could decorate with beads and glitter, and she happily gave one to her older sister and they decorated bracelets while I ran my race.
and I are ready to run again next week. Their goal is to bump up to the 1/4 mile race. My goal is to do the whole 5K course.
More like a

, I am afraid. Anyway, at least I got out and did it. It was an "I am a quitter, I can't do this day." But, I went out and ran and two months ago I couldn't have done what I did. So, I am making progress, it just seems so slow. I swam this morning and am biking this afternoon - have to get in the ride I missed earlier this week. I am starting to worry about the swim part of the Disney tri...I can easily go a half mile, a whole mile seems a LOT farther! DH wanted to fly back the same day as the tri...I told him NO WAY! I want to have a room to go back to for a shower and nap!
I know I haven't been here long, but I wanted you to know you are in my thoughts. I can relate to the depression thing...and I know how it gets when you aren't able to do things. I am sorry you are hurting physically and mentally. I agree - don't give up!!!!
had a good time! My DD7 is starting to get interested in running, too.
for everyone running injured or trying to, I had been having shin problems myself but they've mostly gone away, especially since I'm down around 10 pounds in the last couple months go figure... I think shin splints are my bodies way of saying "um HELLOOOOOO, what are you
for trying to put this much weight on me for so long?"
Yeah, I just love being the center of attention. NOT!!! Of course, I overindulged and Ill have to work my butt off this weekend to pay for the nachos and bleu cheese dressing and whipped cream! Im just glad both kids were here to celebrate with us!

I hope that by the time you see the docs on the 18th you will be far along on the road to recovery.chimera said:Cam...I meant to say something last week, but missed it. You look amazing! I didn't realize how much you'd changed when I saw you in May until I saw MelR's pics from January. Wow! Congrats!
So, how are your feet, kiddo? I am glad the taping is working, but does it make them really hot?
How in the world are you keeping the secret about the cruise from DDs? I'd be so excited that my kids would wonder why I was
How can you pack their stuff without them knowing? I hope you have an awesome time enjoying the anticipation!
Everyone we encountered last year was very friendly and even if we hadnt found other WISHers we still would have had lots of friendly people to
with. Rhonda and I even found some people to sing with!

Cant wait to hear how next week goes.

I'm so sorry that you are having deal with all of this....
Not running much lately had sort of inspired a crisis of confidence of sorts, but I think I worked through it. Goofy seems like SUCH a BIG challenge... but that's the whole point, right??
The Adidas Supernova Cushion redesign is definately not as ugly as the pictures made it look and it fits the same as my old pairs, so I'm thrilled with that. Now... the shoes I had been wearing are the ones I ran the marathon in. So....what should I do with them?? I'm sort of attatched to them, it being my first marathon and all. I'm torn. Any thoughts?
Have them bronzed and use them as a weapon fo rpeople who tick you off at work!solotraveler said:OK-- silly question for you all. Good question. Minme are still in the closet. Can't bear to part with them.
The heat has let up just a bit Now, if we could just get rid of this humidity!
Wow! You rode 30 miles then ran 3 1/2?? You are amazing!
I'm happy to see you here, but so sorry to hear about your situation. Please remember we are all here for you.
It sounds like you guys really had fun! And you did great too! I'm so glad!
