Dave -- You are awesome for alerting everyone to those fares. I am still trying to find one for the weekend my daughter is performing in Magic Kingdom. Just seeing all the information you have accumulated inspired me to download DING. Thanks!

Dave - So glad you lived to tell the T-shirt story!!! (grew up 30 min from AA and been going to teh games since I was 6)

Cam - :dumbo: That's too cool! WIsh he had the feather too. I think he'd be a great mascot for us.

Heather 0 This is so 5 pages ago, but I had a seminar, what can I say? yes, dh and I will be backj soing the full next year. I have no idea how that happened, especially since we didn't think we'd have any DVC points. (As it is, we'll have 17 we can borrow, but that's only 2 weeknights at OWK.)

Well, my training has not been going so well. Idid something to the top of my foot. I thought it was from teh sandals for most of the week after the marathon, but it hasn't gotten better. I missed Monday adn Wed. and only did 20 minutes, instead of 40 last night. Been icing and trying to reast, but you've got to walk. Here's where it gets good. By the end of teh work day Wednesday, my foot really hurt. I figured that maybe I just need better work day shoes. So, I somehow justified a pair of Borns. :teeth: Yup, add some more to that free sport. ;) My feet felt much better at teh end of the day yesterday, though.

Dave- wonder why you get a different Ding than I do. All of the Dings I've been getting, including today's, expire 2/28. No fair!!!

Mel-where did you enter a time for the Minnie- I didn't see a place, so I didn't enter one. I dont want to be in the last corral :bitelip:

Maggie-glad you doing better-it is good to listen to those pains sometimes. I know it's hard, I still have a week & 1/2 of DR ordered "no running/walking" and its driving me nuts. But I keep thinking it will be much better in the long run.

Lynne-thanks for the tips. I no where near the level of training you are. Your schedule exhauts me. I hope you allow a little time for R&R.

I've always wanted to go get one of those Kitchen Sinks, but haven't made it over there. The brownie fudge sundaes at Ghiradellis is awesome too!

I think I have my training schedule worked out to get everything in. For whoever asked how we find time-it does take prioritizing. I am a SAHM so it is a little easier for me. Except DS4 only goes to preschool MWF so Tues I get up early and go workout, DH takes DS8 to school & DS4 rides with him. I am done by the time he gets to work & then DS4 switches cars & comes home with me. On Thur I go after DH gets off work. It some juggling but luckily I have a VERY supportive DH who is willing to work with me.

Bad Dave, Bad, Bad, Dave!!!! I had already instructed Lizdotcom to NOT post the link the the win the Minnie weekend from Hersports. I have registered and I am planning on winning, but if people keep posting, it will lessen my chances!! Maybe Sunny missed it the first time, but now she'll probably see it and figure a way to mathmatically crack the code to win and get my prize!!!!

No workout today, unless I can get someone to kayak iwth me!!

OK Lynn, come and be my commerade for one of trail runs!!!!

Well, I can't get the ding fare-- they don't let us install things here at work. Oh well.

Updated-- With a little creative web searching, I was able to get it!!!

Judy-- awsome job on getting the jog. I totally relate to what you said about being grateful to move. I was put on bedrest for the last 8 weeks of my second preg. I gained so much weight and was so depressed by the end of it. I remember how wonderful it felt to be able to move again. We should never, never, take it for granite.
Sunny

Good morning everyone! TGIF!

Sunny, you KNOW I have nothing but respect for you, but, ummmmmm, I would never ever take it for a ROCK either! :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: Thanks for making me chuckle this morning. :teeth: Oh I don't know what I'd do for EIGHT weeks of bedrest! Wow! Yes, I'll never take being able to move normally for........granted! :lmao:

Ok, sorry, I'm done now.

:lmao:

Geez, Dave, I don't even KNOW what a neuroscientist is!

Minnie - How are you feeling today??? :wizard:

Mel - Ohh, I'm jealous! A day trip! :yay:

Many many thanks to everyone for the congrats on my pathetic little bit of jogging I am doing. I did it again today an my "new" knee was just fine. My "old" one was whining a little but I ignored it. :teeth:

Caution: Delicate Subject - Ladies Only! (You guys skip to the next post.)

Ladies, I was reading "Marathon Mom" last night...an old book for sure, but since I've read every other running book in the library it's down to this. Anyway, she mentions that she doesn't wear...(I'm trying to be DIScreet here)....anything under her shirt. Isn't this not a good idea? I mean, I have no choice. My :upsidedow:upsidedow went south to retire before I did. I NEED support! But I should think that not wearing one would be bad for you and you'd just be assisting gravity before it's time.

Any thoughts on this? I guess I could just tuck them into my waistband :lmao: but I've been wearing a lightweight non-underwire so it's at least something. :confused3

OK guys, you can some back now. ;)

Judy

Judy-- Your post had me :rotfl: Take my word for it. Especially once you start jogging, you will be glad to have invested in a good sport bra. Our target sells champion brand -- great support and comfy! Sorry guys! ;)

Judy :rotfl: I have a word association dysfunction :rotfl: As for the going south thing... I agree with you, support is a good thing! I can't imagine why one would run that way, even if support wasn't an issure, chafing must be

I can't go to the gym at lunchtime. I have to take my car to the shop. grrrr.

Judy - We actually had the whole going commando discussion sometime last year. The bottom half was the topic, however, not the top. I don't really even have anything to support, and I would NEVER think of going w/o. I am an advocate of no undies with the spandex tights or shorts. The only time i have ever chaffed is when I forgot to "undress" properly b/c I was in a hurry for childcare to get my 20 miler done. I stopped for a potty break at a porta-john at about mile 6 and realized my mistake. I couldn't figure out what to do short of ripping them off and throwing them away somewhere (and they were good ones, so I wasn't about to loose them!) I just finished the run w/ them and I had chaffing for the 1st time in about a yr. Also, I'm just not a fan of lines!!!!!

I just checked the 10day forecast for my 50k next weekend! It is supposed to rain (ICK!) I'll have to post a topo map of the course. It is super crazy. We will have 3500ft of ascent on the way up and 1900 ft on the way back down!!! My butt better be real firm after I finish this one!!!!! Forget the ten minute tushie workout. this one will be an 8 hour kind of deal!!! Last year, there was strawberry cake at one of the aid stations. As we know, I'm really passionate about chocolate, but strawberry cake is ok if it is FREE!!

Judy

I have no idea why she wouldn't wear anything. It is super bad. Unless she's extraordinarily flat chested--she's harming the ladies and will in the end cause them to bow down further than they intended to in her old age.

Additionally--if you watch races...you will see men with blood stained shirts. The reason? Their non-ladies chafe something fierce..and they have nothing so no bouncing to help with that.

I don't believe for one minute that she is pulling it off unless she is running in a shirt that has something built into it for that purpose.

Sunny - You could run back from the mechanic!! I think someone on this board has done that b/4. I have run to the gro store with the boy in a jogger b/4. I used the jogger as the shopping cart. I was walking thru the isles all sweatty w/ boy and sticking groceries in the jogger. I felt SO STUPID until some young mom looked at me and said "cool" then i felt like a "W-O-M-A-N!, I'll sing it again!"

Lisa-- maybe she does what many of the men do-- band aids!

Another quick and non-informed starter question. Where did you come up with the eating specifics, did you see a trainer or nutritionist or another book, in MFM? Thanks!

Budlady (can I call you that? its too much typing :p ) here's a classic "do as I say, not as I do" You should increase your food intake to meet your energy expenditure by adding more fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean protein.

I have a very creative inner demon who manages to translate that into "eat more coffee rolls and donuts" :confused3

But seriously, pay attention to your body. If you feel weak, light headed, etc., then you probably need to increase your food intake.

Sunny
